It's great to see how the concept is similar with our own methods. I'm a Filipino and when I was young my uncle would take me to the mountains to burn a huge pile of wood in a pit, then we cover them with banana leaves and soil and wait for a few hours to dig up the charcoal. We used to sell them by the sack and was good profit. Cheers from the PH pitboys, stay healthy.
I watch hundreds and hundreds of cooking videos on RUclips, but these guys were the first that I ever watched. I literally never even thought of going to RUclips to learn how to cook anything until I watched one of their videos back in 2014. These guys started it all for me and even though I don't really do that much with barbecue and outdoor cooking lately I still owe it to them for turning me on to the Fantastic world of culinary videos on RUclips. By the way if I'm not mistaken the saw is an MS361, one of Stihl's finest.
Cheaper. Absolutely better quality. Definitely more fun. Good job. Thanks guys. Side note: Henry Ford was an avid camper/outdoors man. Ford used wood in auto construction so he built a sawmill. Not one to be wasteful he pondered on what to do with all the scrap wood from his sawmill. The sawmill operations were managed by his cousins husband. Edward Kingsford. You know the rest.
1 beer every 10 minutes is a six pack per hour, multiply that times 6 hours equals a thirty six pack, give or take depending if shots are included in that time frame. Definitely manageable.
Gday from Australia 🇦🇺 love your work!! Another fantastic video out boys! When ever I present a pit boy’s meal from my bbq to the family I’ve always got say “ and in the miracle time, wa laa!”
i started looking up how to filter water. learned boiling isn't always good and you might wanna make a filter. yeah so get some stones, sand and Charcoal. now im seeing these two cool dudes talking about how to make the Charcoal. :)
This was the first video I've seen from you. I was just looking to learn the how and why for making your own charcoal and eventually Coke. I was absolutely flabbergasted by the narration. Absolutely top notch, I loved it. Keep up the great work
Thank you for sharing this video. I have just got back from Istanbul and man they used some massive pieces of Charcoal making delicious meat BBQs and I wondered how the heck they got those massive pieces of Charcoal going
Between rubs, sauces, Mops, whiskey and now this? I’ll never have to go to a store for grilling ever again! Thanks from Til’ Valhalla chapter in northern UT 👍🏼
We have unlimited seasoned Mesquite, high desert AZ. I smoke with it constantly and it tastes and smells totally different and much better than the store bought chips and pellets, which I believe are flavored. Thanks for the video, I need to make some mesquite charcoal for the homestead. 👍🏼
I’ve been researching how to make my own charcoal for a few weeks now, and I’ve collected everything I need to do it except for a 6’ long piece of 5” or 6” pipe. I’m going to weld the pipe in my 55 gallon drum and use the flow through method. The pipe goes all the way through the drum with a series of holes at the bottom of the pipe inside the barrel. You pack the barrel then put the top on and set the entire kiln on top of your burn chamber, I’m going to use a semi brake drum for that. Then when the pyrolysis starts it basically feeds itself. Can’t wait to make my first batch !
I come across your videos from time to time. It is easy and fun. I have a few several youtube channels that I love. You just made charcoal look fun to make. ❤ anyway absolutely keep your videos coming along❤❤

A handy hint. If you put the vent holes towards the bottom of the 30 gallon drum the gases vent into your fire and ignite, causing more heat.
