Great review short and to the point. I have a similar one of these. One thing to remember is to condition it with a good soaking to seal the stitching. If it sits around for over 6 months, get it out and redo it again for the stitching will shrink. Happy camping from, Mario.

You should make a video of the 420 cruiser being set up. Not as easy as you've shown. Your instructions booklet claims that the tent will stand when the four poles have been extended. Not true.

These tents leak like a sieve in rain, particularly from the roof area and when the canvas becomes saturated anything touching it gets wet. Don't buy this tent if you use it in rain.

+garrycol Did you condition the tent prior to taking it out in the rain, Garry? I have the Dune 4wd version of what I believe is the same tent and the canvas can be soaked on the outside but dry to touch inside.

Pretty much all tents leak in the rain when touched on the inside if you haven't treated them. You need a canvass protector or a fly over it.

I have one of these tents, and camped on Fraser when we had 4 days of torrential rain. We didn't get any leakage at all. Not sure where you went wrong, but after 3 years of using this tent I've never had a problem. The steep angle of the sides help with run off, so you don't get any water pooling on the canvas. My ONLY gripe I have with the tent is that there are no zip up internal flaps on the windows, so you have to go outside to close the windows if it does start to rain.

Ive had my tourer 9 for over 8 years, used it over half of aus and its only leaked up through the floor when it had holes which i repaired with seamgrip. Any canvas tent without a fly will leak if you touch/rub the inside of the tent don’t touch the walls. Also if you have heavy rain close the outer doors/put down the awning if you don’t it causes the water too pool against the tents roof causing it too leak canvas does not like water pooling. If weather is extremely hot and humid (raining) you can get condensation dripping from roof which you might think is leaking roof, its not. Trick is to open side windows slightly 15-20cm only and peg them out to improve airflow. I’ve camped up north QLD in wet season and in tassie during winter/autumn in this tent and it was flawless no leaks at all. These tents do not leak when used like a canvas tent should be and windows open to improve airflow.

It would only leak if you didn't condition the canvas properly. Mine has been through several storms over the years and huge downpours, no leaks and it stood up to everything nature threw at it. If your leaks were actually condensation dripping down then it means you have inadequate ventilation, you must never seal up a tent so there is no air flow as CO2 and condensation will be a problem. These tents are awesome, simple to erect, durable and excellent value for money.
