Did you get rid of your Camaro and get another N? Thanks for the vid. I got the same intake ordered.
Wow, another great informative vid, Thanks ! I've been wondering about this intake and it really helps to see a vid on it. Very curious what your thoughts are, on oil catch can options ?
I’ll be making follow up videos with more in-depth thoughts/review after a few weeks. I’m going to do the SXTH catch can once they get it back in stock.
Nice! Just got mine in today. That turbo inlet was a huge PITA.
I didn’t do the inlet for that reason lol. I can’t fuck around with those bolts for 2-3 hours in this FL heat. Don’t have the patience lol. Maybe I’ll go back in the fall and install it. How you like your intake?
@@cyber.e.n I like it a lot, the response feels really good compared to before. The inlet will be much easier if you have a flexible extension and some tape. Those saved my life haha
It sounds VERY good! I just can't justify spending $300 since it yields no gains w/ the stock tune. Thanks bud.
If you plan on tuning it will be worth it tho. Thanks for watching!!
Most intakes don't make power though but like stated, when doing a tune IT will then come into its own.
@@klasseact6663 without the upgraded turbo inlet there’s almost no gain even with a tune.
@@ItsPaulby I'm getting it for sure!
@@ItsPaulby I'd like to see SXTH Element do a dyno pull with their CPTL intake, upgraded turbo inlet pipe, tune and surely their upcoming upgraded FMIC💯 I'm guessing close to 350 whp🤔
I went with N performance intake, oem performance parts , that itake will heat soak fast
Should be called a hot air intake, may be more turbo noise but also more hot air into the engine.
Not really. Still has to go through the intercooler before going into the engine lol. SXTH tested it anyway and saw only 2-3 degrees temp difference compared to stock.
@@cyber.e.n Hyundai told me to get a k N filter for better airflow--it only makes slight HP after you are going over 40 MPH and revving it when it can use the extra air--its minimal if any on these because they said they designed their own intakes to funnel the air in a certain way and only the best intake would make any diffrence.BTW I use to put intakes on my cars until it became a hassle to clean the cones. An exhaust and a quality intake can cut a split second off drag times--but so can other things like better RT and better tires.I have a Kona N now and am going to keep it stock except for maybe better rotors--.Best advice I ever got from a race enginees--is buy a car that has "standard" performance you want--anything not stock is hit or miss--especially tunes and race chips.I do plan on going to public drag and unless someone can show a before--a stock N product on a dyno before and after an intake--I will forego it.But i do belive if done right it will give you a "few" extra HP in the upper RPM range.
Just installed mine. Now im running in custom N mode with no exhaust sound just to hear more of the intake
Rebranded your channel and no N. Did it blow up on you?
Do you use the air intake bpv plug from sxth? Is it beneficial? Is it harmful to the engine
I’ve been seein a lot of VN videos with intakes and those seem to flutter, I have the sxth open intake and inlet pipe and get no flutter lol maybe the en is just diff from the VN even tho same power plant minus turbo size 😅
Also contributes to heat soak
Not really, considering the air still goes through the intercooler before going in the engine lol. The temp difference between this and stock is 2-3 degrees anyway
So if I buy this open one since I’ve been waiting for ever for the carbon fiber closed one will I be able to buy the box later for my intake
Man that en looks great in black. Quick question though, don't they make the aem intake for en? And if so then you definitely should've grabbed that one instead. I have it on my vn and it makes a huge difference in sound and also a small bump in power.
Not sure. This one will net about 10HP after I do the stage one tune, and the inlet would produce another 10HP. I’d say that’s pretty good for an intake. These cars really shine with a tune though. SXTH stage one shows going from 260ish WHP to 305+ WHP with just plugs, intake and tune.
On a VN it makes a gain because the stock airbox/tube isn't as well designed like it is for the EN/KN. In your case the aftermarket intake DOES make a difference👍👍
Sorry im french canadian and i dont understand the 2 plug things... someone can help?
Can't seem to get rid of that freakin light Blue Van lol. Just curious, but are those OZ Superturismo wheels? It was hard to tell from the angle in the garage.
No they are TSW Paddock
Does anyone know if this can fit on an N Line?
how's this car as a daily driver? is it uncomfortable to drive around 20-40 min commutes? and what about the occasional 2-3 hr road trip?
Any issues with heat now that you’ve had it for a month, as it’s an open air intake. Would love some feedback appreciate the ELANTRA contact!
Does the intake take any oil in the filter if so what oil
Nothing to hold the plug in? No hose clamps?
think these would work on the KN?
do you have bov on cause i saw some guys that have turbo flutter when installing an open filter ?
Stock bov
That's just the air going back through the turbo and the compressor blades "chopping" the air. It's not enough pressure to open the BOV so that's where it goes. Open filter allows you to hear that alot more. Even way more when you remove the lining under your hood.
What wheels are those
Have u considered a JB4? Considering for the money I have an N-Line and I'm already at your hp or higher
I’m going to do SXTH tune.
U know it , jb4 map 6 ,straight pipe, k&n
Post some videos on your page of the N line
I was told a resounding no buy my kia tech when I had a stinger--both folks that had done this at my dealer had to have plugs and wires replaced-700 plus dollars and KIA is on to how to spot it and will not do repairs if you have used it cause they can tell.Also--last public drag--all 3 people that had a JB4 at public drag also had their check engine lights on.You need perfect gas--perfect gap plugs--you can check dyno stats on Jb4 and it is hit or miss--and then goto forums--if you are able to tune and change plugs and wires and other stuff--go for it--if you value relaibility and KIA/Hyundau honoring the 10 year warranty i would not mess with it.
@@khronin I have everything correct, hks superfire plugs intake and the jb4 and no issues
Did you use air intake for the doo 🤔
For the what??
No updates for 4 month. blown engine?
For real lol and now his channel pic is Camaro based
I assume your doing the SXTH Element tune? If so, are you going to drive up there and have them dyno tune it using your stock ECU?
Also, since your in central FLA, are you getting their upgrade FMIC when it comes out?
Yes doing SXTH tune. Haven’t thought about driving up there. May have to talk to them about that.
Intercooler is definitely on the list.
You need to have it covered or it’s just technically a hot air intake
There’s only a 2-3 temp difference between closed and open system
@@vurshawn1358 really ?
@@Qxvvs yeah it’s listed on sxth website so if you get a filter cover and a intercooler for the water I’m pretty sure the open intake will put performed the close loop system and sound better since you will have more airflow
Does this void your warranty?
Not per say. If you were to have an issue directly related to the aftermarket product you installed and they were able to prove it, they would be able to deny fixing said issue. They can’t void the entire warranty because of a specific part tho. Like if the transmission started acting up, they aren’t going to deny working on it because I have an intake. Make sense?
