The english monarchy stole this hymn. Even the title is the same and the melody is very smiliar. It breaks my heart seeing that this was a matter of power that took away all wonderful possibilities that the imperial family had. Very sad what happenned but you cannot go back to the past and save them. Communism is hell to live under, and the Tsar, though far from perfect, did the best he could with what was available to him. I really hate this war happening now, spilling blood for land. Land that has gone back and forth a million times. Is it worth it? Your young men's lives matter. Both Ukrainian and Russian. If Russia so chooses, I hope they restore their Tsar so they have a living historical element like the British do. These wars are pointless, I refuse to participate in manufactured conflicts.
