Most Greeks left the city due to the intolerance and repression of the rest of the population. Very sad when you think about it. Greeks lived in that area for almost 3000 years continously.

@@dagalealtd4888 No. Actually the dispute between Constantinople Patriarchate and Russian Patriarchate mainly lies in the Kiev Patriarchate, which was admitted by Constantinople due to some political issues. This is really disgraceful from my perspective of view. Also, Russian Orthodoxy is the most influential one, yet even Greece orthodox christian doesn't admit the authority of Constantinople Patriarch. So I think it's totally fine to be baptized by Russian orthodoxy church.
It took the Iberian peoples 700 years to complete the reconquista.
God willing the holy city of Constantinople, the city that symbolized the baptism of the Roman Empire like no other, will become the center of Orthodox Christianity again, and our beloved Hagia Sophia will host the Divine Liturgy once more.
Orthodoxy is growing around the world, and inside the heart of every Orthodox Christian there is a longing for Constantinople.
