u do know that lane splitting at stops and during traffics is for the bikers safety right? it’s so they don’t get smashed between cars cause someone decided to tailgate or be on their phone. not saying that doing it all the time is safe tho cause it’s not, but during traffic and at stops it’s a necessity. also riding the shoulder and lane splitting during traffic on a hot day keeps the bike from overheating and shutting down, the rider can continue to move to keep the engine cool. just remember that when u see bikers lane splitting or riding shoulders, a lot of them aren’t doing it to be assholes, it’s to lower the risk of them getting killed by careless drivers

Redrider2019, I’m not going to pile on against you, it’s not necessary. I will say that I think you’re wound just a tad too tightly, and it might be of great benefit to you to look into meditation. I’ve done it before every ride for the last fifteen years, and I find that I enjoy my trips far more because of it. I find that things seem to slow down for me, and I’m more able to anticipate possible threats, my field of view widens. There’s a rhythm in riding and we’re much more receptive to it when we’re calm and passive, and you just fall into the pure joy of the act.

Bonus points… then ride in the oncoming bike lane to assert your dominance over other vehicles - including towards other bike riders, as EVERYONE else is inferior to you and your GoPro Bonus BONUS points - futilely yell “CAMERA!” at the offending vehicle… 50 metres away. Through your helmet. Don’t worry, you WILL be Seen / Heard. If someone naturally merges in front of you? Ensure you a) quote “CAMERA!” and b) flip the bird - but don’t submit it to the police, as you know you weren’t in danger but it makes for good youTube footage. Drivers WILL brake check and flip you off, as it’s videos compilations like this that make them hate you. Accept it as normal behaviour. If other drivers do something wrong? Todays Hot Tips for new Motorcycle RUclipsrs!
Position your bike where it clearly shouldn’t go, and if your foot gets run over because of your stupidity? Then do not question your decision making!
Bonus points… then ride in the oncoming bike lane to assert your dominance over other vehicles - including towards other bike riders, as EVERYONE else is inferior to you and your GoPro
Bonus BONUS points - futilely yell “CAMERA!” at the offending vehicle… 50 metres away. Through your helmet. Don’t worry, you WILL be Seen / Heard.
If someone naturally merges in front of you? Ensure you a) quote “CAMERA!” and b) flip the bird - but don’t submit it to the police, as you know you weren’t in danger but it makes for good youTube footage.
Drivers WILL brake check and flip you off, as it’s videos compilations like this that make them hate you. Accept it as normal behaviour.
If other drivers do something wrong? Ensure you position your bike in front of that 1 tonne of metal and glass. It’s more important you rant about their stupidity, than protecting your skin.
If someone does something wrong? Don’t look at the road ahead. Ensure you take your eyes off the road and look BACK at them. More than once… maybe, 2 or 3 times. It’s the only way to ensure you get good RUclips footage.
Please ensure you hold up all traffic, both directions, to give drivers a verbal seeing to. You know the Police want you doing this, right?
