Hi, Jake. I'm having a problem choosing the right size for this pair of shoes. May I know what your foot length is in cm and how much space do you have in this size 10 model? Hope you can help. Thank you and more power to you, sir.
Liked and subbed just now. Bro do you have recommendations for running? A bit wide feet like this one in the vid as well. Maybe a bit aesthetically nice to look at too if i can use them daily.
Thank you! Topo makes some solid shoes if you like zero-drop options. Same with Altra, but they'll be on the much wider scale. Flux has a wider shoe, but their performance is so so.
Great news from you! It seems they are closer to metcons s regarding stability, and its nice to have one more model in training line, 🎉 ablnd don't choose between Nike and Reebok fanclubs😂
Hi Jake, another great review! I tried the Women’s NanoX2 and the toe box was too wide for me. I’m doing functional training,HIIT, plyometrics. My feet are not particularly narrow so would you recommend this model? I’m a newbie and I’m only lifting up to 30-40 lbs when I squat. If there’s another model that might suit me better, please let me know.
Detailed review! So if I had to choose only 1, between Nike's Metcon 9 vs Adidas's Dropset trainer 2 for lifting (squats, deadlifts, etc), which would you recommend?
According to your suggestion, I purchased the adidas Dropset Trainer 2. However, I'm experiencing some discomfort in the midfoot area during certain foot movements. Is this common and will it improve over time, or could there be another issue?
If i was to say do some training on grass or turf what shoes would you recommend? I was looking at turf shoes but I disnt know how good they would be 4 weightlifitng
I’d go with something like a Nano X3 Adventure. I’d pass on the turf trainers. Imo, most of them stink for anything outside of turf and they’re a waste of money for most folks who do want versatility outside of turf-exclusive workouts.
I do not. The ventilated insole will likely pick up dirt/water if you're running into that while hiking. I'd look into the Nano X3 Adventure in this context!

I bought these, the dropset 2, and I love how stable they are especially how little toe spring the shoe has which is hard to find. The only issue I had with it is the toebox is not wide enough for my toes compared to my nano x2's, surprisingly the midfoot felt very good eventhough both my midfoot and forefoot are wide. Been very difficult to find gym (mostly lifting) shoes that have little to no toe spring that are also wide.

Thank you! I ordered both in the same size to try on. Dropset just feels SO much better on the foot. So I'm going with it even though the colorways are very uninspiring
I liked the TR1. Felt really comfortable, not too flat but yet very stable for lifting. Returned cuz they looked like egg cardboard, very aggressive recycled material looking.
Hi Jake, I'm about to order one pair of these Dropset 2 but I'm confused about the sizing : I've always bought Adidas in 42 2/3 and it is perfect to me for more than 20 years BUT when I read the chart, it says 42 2/3 = 26.3cm ; 43 1/3 = 26.7cm and 44 = 27.1cm... Or I always go for 27cm (sizing 26.5 left and 27 right)... But as you say going to true to size... I don't know what to chose!
So, TTS? I'm asking as ADIDAS recommends a men's 9.5 based on prior purchases (The Total Shoes, which I did get in 9.5 and fits great). Also, is the insole removable?
@@thatfitfriend Haha the dedede comment made me laugh xD I am looking for some comfortable Adidas training shoes to replace these 7 year Nike metcons I have, for general but not hardcore gym weight lifting. Do you know any that would be good for flat feet people? I see there's an Adidas Everyset Shoes, and an Adidas Dropset (not Dropset 2) shoes. Would you recommend any of these?
Think you’d be fine if you limit high volume concrete use with them like I mentioned. I’ve logged probably 50-70 miles on hot concrete in these and they’ve done pretty good! Saving them exclusively for gym now, though!
Both will work fine, but will have different feelings! If you a drop with your shoes, go with the Dropset Trainer 2 and if you like a flatter shoe go Total. That's how I'd approach this ask

Hi, Jake. I'm having a problem choosing the right size for this pair of shoes. May I know what your foot length is in cm and how much space do you have in this size 10 model? Hope you can help. Thank you and more power to you, sir.
Can you give me some context? What size are you and what shoes are you currently wearing?
So your the gym who makes all the noise in the gym.... dropping the bar 🙈
Welcome to strength sports
do a vs with the metcons 9!
I have a written review on them! May film a video on this, too!
Check it: thatfitfriend.com/nike-metcon-9-vs-adidas-dropset-trainer-2/
Hi Jake how has the shoe been so far now .
Good! Outsole tread starts to wear with a lot of concrete use but I've abused the heck out of them and their grip is still fine in them.
@@thatfitfriend Thanks for the Info Jake.
Dude your reviews are awesome!
Thank you 🤝🤝
В сравнении с первой моделью,эти ужасные внешне!!!
Hi there, what gym shoe for extra wide feet? Thanks :-)
Born Primitive Savage 1 can be a good option!
Does the ventilation space underneath the shoes affect in any ways in the outdoors...???
It's not as resilient to wetter contexts, but otherwise it's fine. I like its breathability for dry day use!
Great news from you! It seems they are closer to metcons s regarding stability, and its nice to have one more model in training line, 🎉 ablnd don't choose between Nike and Reebok fanclubs😂
Hi,can i use it for short running at treadmill..thank you
To an extent, if you're doing intervals and have a forefoot strike you'll be fine. Longer runs 1+ in distance, they're not the most comfy
These trainers are amazing. I currently have knee pain, when I wear these they considerably reduce it. Plus the ground feel and comfort is great.
Stoked you like them!
@@thatfitfriend would you have any idea why they reduce knee pain?
Hi Jake, another great review! I tried the Women’s NanoX2 and the toe box was too wide for me. I’m doing functional training,HIIT, plyometrics. My feet are not particularly narrow so would you recommend this model? I’m a newbie and I’m only lifting up to 30-40 lbs when I squat. If there’s another model that might suit me better, please let me know.
Yeah, these should be fine! Might also want to look into the Everyset if you want to save a little money!
Detailed review! So if I had to choose only 1, between Nike's Metcon 9 vs Adidas's Dropset trainer 2 for lifting (squats, deadlifts, etc), which would you recommend?
I'd go Dropset 2. Metcon 9 has been a letdown, tbh. And thank you!
This is the best training shoe! Better than nike metcons.
Modern day metcon for sureeeeee!
According to your suggestion, I purchased the adidas Dropset Trainer 2. However, I'm experiencing some discomfort in the midfoot area during certain foot movements. Is this common and will it improve over time, or could there be another issue?
Is it the arch material pressing into your foot?
@@thatfitfriend Yes it’s painful in the middle part of the feet!
Should i put some insole??
If i was to say do some training on grass or turf what shoes would you recommend?
I was looking at turf shoes but I disnt know how good they would be 4 weightlifitng
I’d go with something like a Nano X3 Adventure.
I’d pass on the turf trainers. Imo, most of them stink for anything outside of turf and they’re a waste of money for most folks who do want versatility outside of turf-exclusive workouts.
Will you do a Dropset 3 video soon? 🙏🏽
Posted!
Estas zapatillas dropset 2 sirven para hacer calistenia? O cual recomendarías.... De ante mano muchas gracias. Saludos desde Perú
They should be fine!
Dropset2 they are garbage, Dropset Trainer 1 were made too good. Brutal versatility and sex appeal
Hot take. All about that sex appeal in the gym
Everything that my athletes and I loved about dropset trainer is lost in the 2's.@@thatfitfriend
Hey! Do you think they are a good option since I do hiking for 30 minutes at the end of my sessions?
I do not. The ventilated insole will likely pick up dirt/water if you're running into that while hiking. I'd look into the Nano X3 Adventure in this context!
stability vs Metcon 9 ?
I’ll take these
@@thatfitfriend wow interesting! Beat the standard
@@duethe6929 9’s stability is interesting, tbh. I find them to be a step backwards in that vertical. I’m curious how other folks will feel about them!
@@thatfitfriend I always wondered how a billion dollar company with huge R&D budget can’t consistently improve and/or simply fall short compared to much smaller companies like the ones popping up everywhere … how?
@@duethe6929 same and that’s why I am tougher on some of these larger companies that constantly claim to be the best, you know. It’s got to be a lack of internal direction or lack of proper feedback? Who knows
Stoked you like them. Curious if the upper will continue to stretch and help with your fit needs!
I was wondering how much wider the Tyr L1 lifter feels in the toebox compared to the dropset 2's@@thatfitfriend
@@WizKiD49z it has more rounded toe box so it feels wider through the end of the toe box. I don’t have my L-1 Lifters on me atm as I’m traveling so I can’t give you a definitive measurement
Great review, just what I'm after - a bit of running and alot of weight lifting 🎉
Perfect for ya, thank you!
What shoe can you recommend for a hybrid shoe?
Do you think this shoe would be ok for long walking?
The new Inov-8 F-Fly has been my latest hybrid muse!
@@thatfitfriend wow such a fast reply thank you!
@@ShadowRing0219 haha, I’m hitting folks back atm! I try to always do so in a timely manner since most folks ask because they’re debating on buying something in the near future. Least I can do for checking out my channel/vids!
Do you think these are wider or narrower than Reebok Nano X3? I have wide feet and like both of those shoes.
I mainly do CrossFit workouts with the occasional short run.
A smidge wider once the upper breaks in, imo! I
Thank you! I ordered both in the same size to try on.
Dropset just feels SO much better on the foot. So I'm going with it even though the colorways are very uninspiring
Is this good for badminton court use?
I think so! I’ve been rocking mine for pickle and they’ve been great
Great review. Are these a better shoe for 1K runs vs. the Romper Stomper AKA Metcon 7?
Haha, I’d take these over the 7s 10/10 times. Been liking these for sprints/shorter intervals at the track
How does this compare with the Nike Air Zoom TR1? Appreciate if you can make a review on that model. Great vid, btw!
Haven't tried that model yet! I've had a lot of asks for them, though, so they're on my to-do!
I'd go with your normal Adidas size in the Dropset 2!
Just received them, they fit n feel marvelous. Thanks a lot! @@thatfitfriend
what size did you choose?
@@oscariacomella907 my usual size for Adidas, 42 2/3, always perfect. Their measurement are not accurate (ps : I wear 42.5 Nike and 42 Reebok fyi)
Thanks for the review. Your take really helps me decide which shoe to get. =)
Appreciate you, brother!
Heyy, do you prefer metcon free 5 or dropset 2 ?
These for lifting, FM5 for HIIT
So, TTS? I'm asking as ADIDAS recommends a men's 9.5 based on prior purchases (The Total Shoes, which I did get in 9.5 and fits great).
Also, is the insole removable?
I’d go TTS! Yes, removable
@@thatfitfriend got them today, 10s fit great; much lighter and less bulky than I expected.
@@TimHesse ayyy
for ref, I came off the Project Rock 5s, much heavier!
Would you choose these or the Under Armor Tribase 5 ? I want to try something new, and I haven’t made up my mind on those two sneakers.
What do you currently wear and what do you like about the shoes you're wearing?
@@thatfitfriend
I am still currently using my Nike Metcon 7. I really like the “react” cushioning, and stability when squatting, deadlifting, etc.
@@_soles7681what you choose?
Your Con for flat foot people like me was spot on. I felt that side wall immediately and it hurt just walking around. Immediately returned.
Yeah, it’s one knock on this model for that foot anatomy. Bummed they didn’t work. Whats your next move?
Also, king dedede ripssss
@@thatfitfriend Haha the dedede comment made me laugh xD I am looking for some comfortable Adidas training shoes to replace these 7 year Nike metcons I have, for general but not hardcore gym weight lifting. Do you know any that would be good for flat feet people?
I see there's an Adidas Everyset Shoes, and an Adidas Dropset (not Dropset 2) shoes. Would you recommend any of these?
Any plans on trying the Adidas Everyset trainers?
Yep! In the next two weeks!
Hello sir.. great review... just one question... can these be used for tredmill runs !!
Ehhh, for short runs. Wouldn’t use them for longer than a mile at a time, tho.
And thank you!
@@thatfitfriend alrighty ... thankyou sir 🤜🤛
@@ashwinagrawal166 got you 🤝
I have just some concerns regarding the durability of the outsole
Think you’d be fine if you limit high volume concrete use with them like I mentioned. I’ve logged probably 50-70 miles on hot concrete in these and they’ve done pretty good!
Saving them exclusively for gym now, though!
@@thatfitfriend since I started watching your channel I have shoes only for gym
For the big three would you take these over the total (adidas)?
Both will work fine, but will have different feelings! If you a drop with your shoes, go with the Dropset Trainer 2 and if you like a flatter shoe go Total. That's how I'd approach this ask
@@thatfitfriend I don't do any plyo or dynamic work so I guess I'll just get the totals. Thanks!
@@frankopanklaric note Dropset will work just as well! Depends if you want more heel or less, basically :)
Hi! How does the dropset 2 compare to the rapidmove adv trainer?
Dropset is way better for lifting, nicer fit, and just feels better quality
@@thatfitfriend That's a super fast reply I wasn't expecting. Thanks Jake!
Guess I'll check them both out at the store. I have an unexplained fear that a sharp object might somehow poke through the airflow window of my Adidas Dropset 2 shoes as I sometimes walk mindlessly without looking at the ground. But realistically, what are the odds of this happening, right?
@@user-yk1sl6bm5w haha! If I’m on my computer working I’ll always hit you back fast or try to!
Small chances imo 😂
Dropset 1 or dropset 2 better?
2 by a long shot
@@thatfitfriend I tried the dropsets but they are very hard 😂 and the nano x3 are stable but also hard like a stone 😂 what other shoe option could there be? I'm a beginner, maybe I feel that a reebook nano could be in the future
Hey man, I’m in the market for a new shoe for the gym, and I’m thinking about getting these. My current shoes are the metcon 6’s and they’ve treated me pretty well since 2020. This’ll be my first pair of adidas shoes, if I’m a 10.5 in metcon 6s what size should I get in the drop set 2s? Thanks.
Think you'll enjoy the Dropset Trainer 2 if you're coming from a 6. I'd go 10.5 in these, too!
@@thatfitfriend thank you! I just put my order in, they should be here on the 9th, can’t wait!
@@Djones96 hell yeah, keep me posted!

i size 8 in reebok, in adidas dropset would be 8.5?
8.5 prob safe, if older Reeboks go 8

How would you rank the following from fave to meh?
X3 Adventure
GoRuck Ballistic
Dropset 2
And which would you choose overall?
Awe man, I don't want to put any of these models into "meh", tbh. They all work well just in diff contexts.
Best All-Around: Dropset Trainer 2
Best for Outdoor Workouts/Indoor Training: Nano X3 Adv
Best for Arch Support/Rucking/Lifting: Ballistic
