The young child is a haunting presence. His terror reaction hit me deeply. Loved the pacing. The gradual unveiling of who the men were to each other and their shared history, the childhood story of the elder brother taking the blame for the younger...This one went deep into my psyche and I'll be thinking of this story and these characters for a long time to come.
Chicken and waffles for his last meal......yep. A true delicacy. His last line "we're sick baby brother - just depends on how well you learn to dance with it" I thought was a brilliant statement! Great work!
Gripping. Chilling. Heartbreaking. No spoilers, but I yelped out loud twice. Just finished watching and I'm still sitting in the emotions of it. Excellent job.
I usually don't like horror, scary or even thrillers but I was drawn to this one firstly because of the location, it is close to where I reside, secondly b'cos the beginning started out like a regular family enjoying the sunny day, the happy little boy and the camera with the parents beaming with excitement❣️ But I knew chaos was about to happen so I held my breath anxiously awaiting something monstrous to happen......and boy did it!! So in essence, I caught the whole jest of the scenario in this AWESOME SHORT STORY✨️
I visited the Moundsville Penitentiary for an overnight "ghost hunt" a few years ago. Very cool place! It's funny how it can be the crappiest film ever but if it has a place I'm familiar with, it just enhances the movie somehow. And by NO means am I suggesting this film was "crappy!" Quite the opposite...I think this film is EXCELLENT in ALL aspects!
That makes no sense. Had the husband killed his own wife & son, the brother on death row who was about to be executed, wouldn’t have had an opportunity to soothe his distressed nephew, because his nephew would have already been dead.
I had a view-master when I was five in 1957. Great 3-D toy. Known to us as a slide viewer. Made regular slides a real disappointment. The film was beautifully shot. I was confused about the generations. He was the dad in the home movies? Or the little boy?
My goodness that prison makes Strangeways in Manchester look like the Hilton!! Very good film, I enjoyed it. Only guessing but were the murders of the wife and child revenge for the beating from the broken vase?
Leaving aside all its merits, I think this piece lacks verisimilitude: "Most fiction writers and filmmakers aim at some kind of verisimilitude to give their stories an air of reality. They need not show something actually true, or even very common, but simply something believable". Concretely in this case, letting the guard have his gun with him when he talks to the prisoner.
As of 12/21/24 there are 54 total comments and all are spectacular. So this means the people involved with the movie have at least 54 friends, because this movie was a 1 out of 10. That is an overstatement. Terrible. Mott one redeeming quality.
Pro tip - old video did not have reduced frame rate - that's not the artefact you want to introduce. This just shows how young the people involved in this film are are how little research they did.

Can't sleep and saw like 15 of those. This is the best one
The actors are outstanding!!!
I throughly enjoyed watching this, people bothered over frame rate why not appreciate the hard work that went into producing this! ❤
WOW! Absolutely blown away! I haven’t seen cinema this fantastic since shark tale! Keep up the good work!
Top job done by all involved. Thank you and looking forward to seeing more in the future.

I totally feel the same way.
Omg me too- wow.

Outstanding !!!!!
Well done acting and writing. I was transfixed. The viewmaster was nostalgic and a nice touch at the end of rolling credits.😊
THE PENITENTIARY!! I’ve been in those exact spots! This is so skillfully directed too
Well then you did your time and whatever you did I hope you didn't hurt anyone.
@@JinxMarie1985Maybe they’re a…detective? 😬

Live near the prison in West Virginia . I liked this film. 👍
AMAZING !!!!
It's so tragically and very emotionally movie,,, but it's outstanding 9.8/10😳
Same. Doesn’t get a 10, because it doesn’t pass the Bechtel Test, but 9ish is totally apropos.
Twists and turns! Unexpected. Sad ending.
Absolutely love it!
Excellent movie 🍿 🎥
The brother taking the blame for the broken vase , and again for the famicide
Wow, never thought of that. Makes more sense than my comment, I thought it was revenge for the beating of the broken vase. Cheers mate.

Just got done with the Haunt season from the penitentiary!
Very very good
A mirror on the deep and tragic human condition.
Rivetting!
Grew up down the street from the prison in moundsville
Gut churning, diarrhea producing, flatulence invoking I'm one minute in and I had run for the toilet!!!
Must've been that whole can of Chilli Beans you had for lunch.

And that's why firearms never go past the sallyport entrances of jails and correctional facilities.
couldnt tell they were brothers, 2 diff nationalities and certainly dont look alike. good work, i was waiting for when he would crack
Maybe one was adopted? You never know. I did think the same thing as you though 😅
O de otro padre
Love spiced rum and cola

No the brother took the blame but it was the guard who killed his own family. That's why he told him "WE'RE sick, baby brother"
Dude looks a lot like Eminem
Similar to the green mile
This movie stalls out at 0:14 every time I tried to watch it.

That was very verismilitudinous of you.

Boring.

they are college students
Both have big noses
Sometimes you can't tell the acting is bad until the dialogue starts.
Dialog is a little too slow, I am not believing the actors , it’s like they are reading it so slow
