CJ Off-Road. Thank you. I have been putting parts on my 16 rubicon unlimited all week and watching videos. So many of them are not descriptive, and that can be said about inclosed instruction manuals as well. I am not a gear head but I do the work so I need details. You gave details. I was dreading the winch so I did it last but thanks to you and your effective instructional method it was by far the easiest install. More people who make videos should be like you and be about the content mapped out in a concise way. Thank you again.
Carole Maas how is this winch? I’m getting one new on marketplace for only 200 bucks. But worried about some amazon reviews. And if it’s enough for my Jeep. All good for you?
That's too hold on to when your closet to the winch like that, dying put your fingers near that hook and wire while it's that close to the fairlead. It doesn't take much to mangle fingers.
I would suggest doing a wireless remote for it. There are plenty of times where I was stuck on the channel and had to make fine adjustments on the winch while I was outside of the rig. Like, spooling it up after pulling myself out. Holding it by hand and retracting the cabling into the winch.
If your aftermarket bumper is set up and ready to accept the winch, no plate is needed. Most stock "winch ready" bumpers require a winch plate to be added. I have a winch bumper, as seen in videos on my channel, so I do not need the plate
Just had this out in my garage while putting the winch together. Great instruction...your video helped a lot. Thanks man.

Excellent video!!! I used it through my entire install!! Thank you!

Would have been nice if you showed the wiring path you used.
Great video I learned more from your video than the other installing videos
Actually just put mine on today...not to bad
Having trouble getting the terminal covers on…your just magically appeared lol
Just a little safety note..."You" know what it is!! That tag in the clevis hook is not for looks!
Eric Wright It’d be best to flip that hook so it opens up, too. Then, if it slipped off, it goes flying into the dirt, not the air.
Eric Wright what’s it for? Are you talking about the red smittybilt tag?

So the bumper just HAPPENED to have holes for the bolts in the exact right spots? How often does that happen? Or were the bumper and winch a set?
Great video. It would be nice to see a video on how to add an in cab button to operate these winches

Thank you for the video you explained it perfectly 👍👍
Great video. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to best run the wiring through the engine?
Save you some time: they do NOT show you fishing the cable though the engine bay.
Great video. I am going to pick up a used one, but the cables go directly to the battery. There is no fuse? I never install a winch before.
You do wire the cabling directly to the battery.
So can it be installed on the factory bumper or do you need a winch bumper?
That depends on which bumper you have. Likely you will need to have a winch capable bumper unless you have the hard rock bumper.
This will work for my gin pole setup.
I watch this whole video to learn where to run the wires at
I got this unit it will not free spool how do I fix it.
Two hours?
What bumper is that? Looks nice. Any review for that?
Here's the bumper install video! ruclips.net/video/5x_XGIHFbAY/видео.html
what is the torque for the mounting hardware?
How do you hook it up to the battery?
there is just 2 cables to hook up positive an negative that go right to the battery
what is winch
Did you bolt directly to aftermarket bumper or add a"winch plate" as well ?
If your aftermarket bumper is set up and ready to accept the winch, no plate is needed. Most stock "winch ready" bumpers require a winch plate to be added. I have a winch bumper, as seen in videos on my channel, so I do not need the plate
So the stock battery terminals are OK to use for 12000 pound winch
Yes the stock terminals would be fine to run that winch.
