I have the same bass (but in red) and the same amp. Curious what you think of the onboard pre? A little dark, as you say I guess. I find I always have my treble knob up a little bit
What does it sound like? Hard to tell when it's going through several different sound altering gizmos. How about the bass by itself?
Such an attractive package for about the price of a Fender Player. I‘m not sure about the sound, though.
