I love this collaboration with Alessia, they re-invented an old classic which they have done before, except this one stands out with their subtle vocals without being overly aggressive. They covered this song in 2014. This is a complete rebuild of the song. People more experienced than me in music say that they are swapping the intro and outro around. What I think is that they turned a straight-up metal song into a horror-story thing, with the creepy Goth witch praying in the woods, the woman/ghost/entity trapped in the walls, the 3 of them descending from the light into the darkness just when the lyrics say "exit light. Enter night." WOW!
Dany said they wanted to create a dark, scary version of the song when they learned it was written as a lullaby for one of Metallica's band member's child.

There are five versions of this song on the Blacklist Album. Only Weezer followed the original arrangement and one other was like you said "making it their own, but not really". This one buried all of them.
Two facts: they are signed with Lava Records. The song in Nevada was Survive.

They did a note for note cover of Enter Sandman in 2014, when they were 14, 12 and 9 years old. It now has around 23 million views. They have been signed to Lava/Republic Records for over a year now. They have already recorded their 3rd album (first with Lava) and we have all been waiting for the release. Choke and Evolve have already been released, and in another month the first half of the album is to be released as a 6 song EP named Mayday! Most of us are assuming that the album will come out in full as soon as they can start touring next year!

I and 1000 others were on an Instagram chat with Dany today, and she said that from the time they got the call from Metallica asking if they wanted to be part of Blacklist to finishing the composition, playing, and video was one week in total! That’s some serious dedication and craft. Oh, and I see that Ale has transformed her bass into a weapon. She wields that thing like a sword.

They are signed to Lava records but they produce or co produce their own video's. Alessia is one of a few pop singers that I don't mind listening too & The Warning are just Awesome❤😎🤘 All the proceeds from this track are going too charity, what a class act !!
The warning, adapted this new version in Monterrey Mexico, including the collaboration with Allesia who lives in Canada so they worked remotely, (the virtual presence of Alessia is clearly seen in the video), the audio mix and the filming of the video clip all this "in a week".

They were independent, but signed this year with Lava Records. A new album will be released next month.

Alessia Cara is a canadian pop star and i believe she is signed by the same record label as the warning Lava records. Metallica ask them to re version the song not to make just a cover. So this is it a song in which both styles (pop Alessia an heavy rock The Warning) fit well. Cool reaction!

They were signed by Atlantic Records Group through lava records. Their latest album which has yet to be released and features Evolve and Choke are being released through Atlantic/Lava records

This is what you get when you tell These ladies to take and do what you want with the song to make it theirs. Metallica told them to do whatever they wanted to with the song for the 30th Anniversary of the Black Album. I'd never heard of Alessia Cara either but hey they did a great job of teaming up for this. Craziest thing is The Warning did all their part in Monterey Mexico while Alessia did all her parts in Canada. They have yet to meet in person.

This Song is from the Metallica Black List Album that was Released today 9/10, Metallica asked 53 Artists to do Covers of the songs from the Black Album and this is one of the versions of Enter Sandman, this set Has 7 LP's or 4 CD's and All Money Made from sales of this set are going to Charity
In Dany's own words, they were asked to do a version of the song and that's what they delivered, their very own version of Enter Sandman. But they rescued a very important element: they found out Metallica wanted Enter Sandman to be a lullaby when they wrote it, and that's exactly what The Warning did with their version of the song. It's a completely dark and gothic anthem worthy of being the theme song of a horror film. When I listen to it, I think of DPA being this beautiful but evil nanny whispering this lullaby with her little sweet voice to the ear of an innocent child while she holds the Sandman book in her hands.

Basically Metallica chose over 50 artists from different genres to cover and reimagine songs from their black album to be called the blacklist album with the proceeds going to the chosen charity of the performing artists. I think Metallica wanted the artists to put a new spin on them and not a note by note cover. Alessia Cara a successful Pop and R&B singer and 2018 Grammy award winner for best new artist from Canada 🇨🇦 was originally asked to cover Enter Sandman. I believe she shares a international/promotion management team with The Warning that thought it would be a good idea to collaborate with them for this project. So many Kudos to her for sharing the spotlight with my favorite band.

They ACTUALLY can play it just like it is in an amazing way, they already did it 7 years ago, when the girls from The Warning were just 9, 12 and 14 years old. Even the very same Metallica, Back those days, were amazed by those little kids from that time, and in fact I bet that’s the reason not only to be invited to participate at the Blacklist Album, but to be the first song of the album.
And yes, they were independent, but they just recorded their third record that is now with an international label (Lava Records), that album will come in two parts (EPs), and the first one will come out October the 8th, and it has already two singles: Choke and Evolve.
By the way: The Warning ara trio: Daniela (21), guitar and vocals, Paulina (19), drums and vocals (all of them have been the leading vocals at some songs, being Dany the most common to have the leading singing) and Alejandra (16), bass and vocals. They, the Villarreal sisters, started 8 years ago, when they were just 8, 11 and 13 years old.
Lava Records. They retained many rights after 7 months of negotiation. Alessia 2018 Grammy Best New Artist plus 3 other nominations. We are Warned!

Metallica asked the bands involved in this new album to take their songs and tturn them upside down, inside out and sideways, they didn't want direct covers. They wanted reimaginings and recreations.
Okay I’m bilingual speaker Spanish and English I hear in a interview the girls have today that they cannot do a cover of the song by Metallica request, so they did this version with Alesia cara who is a pop singer in a week record tone because Metallica give them a dead line for this collaboration, now cover there is millions on RUclips this version is original and unique enjoy it.

You two are so entertaining! Love how you do all this. It appears that they have autonomy when making some of their videos. They've all been produced in Mexico via the associates of The Warning. Videos are essentially promos so that would fall under the category of the record label - Lava. That might mean Lava is putting up the cash for making the videos. I don't know. Estimated guess.

There's basically two ways to cover a song. You can try to do your best impersonation of the original band, or you can take the song and make it your own. Of the two, I greatly prefer the second way. If a band covering Metallica is just trying to sound like Metallica, why would I listen to them instead of the original? But if they give me a new twist on the song, and if they do it well, then it's getting added to my playlist for sure. These ladies created a really cool version of Enter Sandman, something uniquely their own, and I love it.

They choose this one from about hundred other bands. Is this a joke? Some songs it took me many many listenings to capture all his super-custom-craftmanship. Some listeners will never get it because they won't commit to multiple listenings like myself. Because they inverted the the intro and outro of the original you can actually blend both versions to actually be a single 10 minute song in 10 parts.
Though starting this song at about 4:55 of the original may work even better

The whole point of The Blacklist project was for the various artists to put their take on the song. Can you imagine how boring that album would be if all the artists just tried to copy the song the Metallica did?
I dont watch awards shows and dont listen to radio stations that play Alessia Cara so never heard her before. so had to listen to a few of her songs. I don;t care at all for "pop" music of any kind really so she gets a big NOPE from me but I will give credit , she did a good job here mixing with the girls. although its more like TW changed more to AC genre sort of but from Paus prayer to the end was all TW it will be interestinf IF the girls try do this live with ot all the production they have in this video, I suspect lots of click.backing track but still i bet would be great.

Don't forget that Alessia was invited by Metallica and not The Warning. But she has no idea about rock music and she didn't want to do a simple pop version. Of the very pop singers, she is one of those who can be listened to. The fact that she is not doing this big promotion herself is perhaps also because she will be releasing her own album in the next few weeks. She has her fan base with those her age and younger.

They are one of the few artists on the Blacklist who actually did their homeworks. Metallica had specifically requested what you are describing (flipping songs on their head). So many unfortunately just did a slightly different rendition of the originals. Kudos to The Warning and Alessia.
This is not bad, might even grow on me after giving it a few more views but after seeing Liliac do this cover, I don't see anyone impressing me much they even rivaled Metallica IMO. Regardless, amazing talent here and their voices are impressive!!!

You said they're totally changing and making it their own because you know they don't want to try playing it the way Metallica does it cuz you know it's Metallica but you're absolutely wrong they did almost an identical version of it just a few notes difference on the solo part but they ripped it when they were children, children, maybe you should check that out look for that version from the warning basement. Ali was only 8 or 9 years old when they did it and they covered it splendidly.
