great video - I'm going to give it a go as I just bought an 2013 Amarok with a retrofitted RCD 300 display but no camera - when I go into reverse it tried to find a camera. My only question I have is whether the two wire to one wire adapter that you showed us near the beginning of the video comes with the camera kit in the link - I couldn't see it there. thanks for such a clear video.
Hey mate 1:13 you mentioned you grabbed 12v from the plug in the upper tray. I’m doing the same install, which wire is the positive wire that you spliced into? Thanks
Hi Have you made sure that the coding was done on vcds on the headunit itsels? I had it right at the start when I had one of the wires on the time delay box wrong I think. But once I had all connected up correctly it worked fine. do you have a time delay box installed on the camera wiring?

Yes the reverse camera function needs to be enabled on the radio via ODIS or VCDS. Normally if you let the supplier know that you are going to install a camera then they will enable it for you, other wise you will need to do it, or have it done.
Have a look at the links in the discription of the video. That's the supplier I bought it from on aliexpress. I got very good service from them. It was however quite a while ago, and pricing would at this stage be very different I assume.
@@michaelvanrensburg6126 Some android units will display the climate control info. The question is do you actually need it, it's all displayed quite clearly on the climate control panel.... It shows for 3 seconds once you change something... I very sedomly change any of my climate control settings apart from the temp, 1 or 2 degrees up or down. So in the end it didn't bother me at all...
Unfortunately a don't have a diagram. I'm pretty sure the seller on aliexpress that I listed in the description will have the diagram on a photo of the rear view camera.

Hi Willem where can i buy the blue connector that plugs into the head unit, do i need coding done on the head unit if so where can i get it done?
Got a clip of how it looks on the RCD unit? Does it view the towbar etc? Does it look slighty off by not being central?
