Why would anyone take their BABY to such a creepy, dangerous place? And she also seems to leave that baby alone a lot. What's with that. I see so many problems with this story.
When Gabriel drowned, wasn't it a little strange that Nathan didn't even look under the water for his son? He just stood there in one place, not even looking. That seems llike a pretty lame rescue attempt to me. The water wasn't even that deep. Surely he could have gotten his son out of the water at least. He didn't even do that.
I think Nathan was hallucinating. Gabriel had already died some time before when Nathan had not been around to save him. This scene was a hallucination because Nathan had just eaten some "magic" mushrooms out of Gwen's locked box. It wasn't real, so there was no child there to be saved.
