Great video as always Just some thoughts about the topic: 1. I don't get why they locked a fire tower behind a limited battle pass when it's a tower with a rare damage type that doesn't get used often, it will be interesting though what they will come up with for a shop fire tower. (Also for the second path of flame trooper he could be able to burn off the stealth of enemies that would be cool) 2. I remember John saying somewhere that he only added one path for event towers to make them situational so they aren't used everywhere, but that being said i sltill think they should add two paths because it's one of the things tdx is known for. 3. just a thought but what's the point of upgrading scarecrow for more health if it if it gets one shot by any attacking enemy after early game, so to add on this I think the second path on scarecrow should explode and deal damage when it dies.
Actually maxing scarecrow used to give a 5 percent damage buff around him, however John remove the buff since it's just free 5 percent buff, at the same time it can be overshadowed by sentry due to rebuild
Scarecrow dealing death damage is an amazing idea honestly and I would love to see that, but idk how useful it would be since outside of the halloween event the only towers that attacks are minibosses and bosses, and a bit of death damage wouldn't do too much to them/there would be better and more consistent options
Honestly I feel the disappointment in the towers not having multi path, there as so much potential for the flamethrower and the relic to have multi paths that could interact with the game, like how the relic could have had it to where one would be focus on the overseer and another path could’ve focused on more minions like a unit that sets little traps or turrets as they walk down the path and a another type unite that could be a mortar where they will walk down the path and occasionally shoot a large whatever at the enemy’s and so on. -Edit- After watching the video fully, I have hopes for these towers, as I know they rushed them to reach the dead line but I hope they find these kind of videos to take some ideas for event towers, and if we’re really lucky enough they’ll add them further down the line as we’ve seen with tds where event towers are touched on or reworked completely so I believe that they could add these ideas in later updates when they have a full stable team and honestly I want to hear the ideas for more units to the relic or ideas on what could be done for the already existing units.
@ exactly what he said, they are an exception as it’s staying true to their roots and should not be used as an excuse to make event towers a single upgrade path, and I hope they understand the ideas the community has to easily give them the other patches to these event towers to show their full potential.
John said that all event towers, mabye with an exception of a few. Will have 1 path. This is to make them more unique and specialized, it also saves development time and adds room for them just to make a seperate tower instead. The reason cryo ranger has 2 paths is because when it was released, they were still working on a 1 path system.
Nothing will beat the flame trooper in tdx for me, the tower looks awesome at levels 4/5, the fire effects look SO GOOD, and the fart ability is hilarious
overall I agree, but here are some other suggestions for secondary paths. Scarecrow: First path: High bait range of like 25 or something but also gives a buff to nearby towers that reduces their chances of being targetted. second path: low range of around 10 or something but when bosses or enemies are in range, their chances of targetting the scarecrow are like 90% or something.

I completely agree, especially with the disappointment of the event towers only having 1 path. I think Flame trooper and relic have a lot of potential for a second path + a tower not having 2 paths in tdx is just throwing one of the core aspects of the game away (excluding the tower battles towers + scarecrow). I think for a new path for scarecrow instead of buffing it should have the opposite effect of baiting, in which if you place the scarecrow near other towers enemies wont target those towers within the range. Which makes it stay true to the “Scarecrow” name as scarecrows were designed to keep crows away from

6:07 I would like to say that they shouldnt give a damage boost to scarecrow Instead I think they should make the scarecrow have a different model and make it "scare" enemies like in the og tb. By this I mean that it would make them walk in the other direction for a few seconds I feel like it would be more fitting

I really wanted relic to summon like just an actual boss with a health bar, multiple attacks, and everything (of course with a 1 at a time limit) it wouldve been pretty cool and unique I hope the relic rework will give it 2 paths, lile barracks with one path having a boss (less allys but more dmg and hp), and the other is just the current spam
An idea I recently came up with was to keep the regular flame trooper path as the top path and make the bottom one focus and long range and putting a long afterburn effect on enemies with a slow firing rifle with incendiary bullets, could also give the enemy is fires around 40% damage vulnerability while the duration of the afterburn.

The 2nd paths that I think should be on flame trooper and relic Flame Trooper: 2nd path gets Molotov's that act similar to rangers m203 incendiary Molotov's will be able to spread fire damage to enemies that are too close to each other The 2nd path will also ignore flame resistance Relic: (First off for the 1st path I think all the units should be heavily buffed as you level it up so they will actually be useful instead of being thrown away when you get overseer) 2nd path goes for more of bottom path barracks style having a lot more troops and quicker spawn times We will get a 2nd unit that acts like the dread knight in chapter 3 which will be very tanky and can stun enemies Another unit will act like a necromancer being able to summon other units that are sort of like the wraiths from chapter 3 (however it will be balanced so that it has a cap for how many units it can spawn) The last upgrade will be expensive and will heavily upgrade all the units and will also unlock a sort of mage unit The mage unit will be act as a support unit being able to heal damaged units, increase their walk speed, as well as unstunning units that get stunned

Hey, while I was watching your video, I was reminded of some ideas that need to be considered. 1: Is it worthwhile to work on event towers 2nd path during the development of the entire event or be stuck balancing the tower a few times due to later added 2nd path? 2: How will players obtain event towers after the event ends? I am still considering the TBZ approach. 3: We need to try giving flamethrower 2nd path thermobarics and see what to do from there!!!
@@MordexJVthe tower blitz method doesnt remove the tower completely after an event instead they give a different way to unlock it by doing specific requirements, no robux to skip either
@minerdxxd733 Almost exactly as that, though the players who've beaten the event gain access to exclusive skin for said event tower. Anyways about if it's applicable to TDX, I was thinking of it like a side quest that requires you to beat a line of maps with such loadout with specific modifiers while collecting easter eggs during the process to "find" the lost event tower. Absolute pain to do but I am just rambling my fantasies if you read to this point and has slim chances of being applied. Most likely it's just beat such difficulty with modifiers like in TBZ or do tasks to unlock it.
My theory is that both relic and scarecrow will be limited while the flame trooper is basically a reward for getting them before their official release Flametrooper will get their deserved second path after this event
What I personally don't like about the flame trooper being an event exclusive tower is that, flamethrower towers are generally common towers, the only proper way to get a flamethrower in tdx is the patrol boat which is not common due to requiring water. I hope John finds a way to keep the flame trooper as a regular permanent tower and replace it with something else.
Cool vid! I personally am very excited for the relic rework but i also get why the event towers only have 1 path so imagine you are like a new player and joined a bit late so you can't get the event towers anymore so if it would have 2 paths newer players miss more content than they would have to so if you put more content into an event tower more content would be missing for newer players ofc i would also like second paths but like you have to take the new players also into a count thats why im not that dissapointed that the event towers only have 1 path👍
The only thing im pissed off about is that when TB event ended, they replaced it back to the christmas event instead of just keeping the TB map and removing the battlepass. They might do the same thing to the Halloween event. Hopefully the big metal door in the hub becomes an event haven for those who couldn't experience it or just to play for fun.
I think all of the event towers are pretty cool, but a lot of my issues are with relic. To me, the model of the tower itself feels kinda bland, they should maybe add particles to it to make it look cooler, but also the units have alot of issues. To me, the units feel kinda bland and don’t pop out at all, and overseer, despite its massive health pool, I’m still kinda unfazed by it. It dosent really feel special and in reality, all it is, is a massive damage sponge. John did say he wanted to give the players something that had boss levels of power, however when I here boss, not only do I think of high hp, I think of attacks and abilities, which overseer has none of.
@ ik it is. Hopefully it actually does address relics current shortcomings cuz it has the potential be an amazing tower, they just need to iron out the issues relic has at the moment
Maybe the second path for flame trooper could have a oil dump ability where it drops oil on the track that it lights up and can spread to other enemies
I don't really like the fact they made a tower like flame trooper a limited event tower unlike other tower defense games where you buy it It also just doesn't really fit the Halloween theme of the event so it's sad to see such a must have tower be a limited event tower that new players can't get
Tbh I feel like they could’ve executed relic’s max level better, it is the one thing Im desperate hoping they rework. Im a huge spawner fan in fact I would’ve been fine with relic if the last level wasn’t boring. Don’t get me wrong the thought of having a boss on your side is extremely cool but some random guy running with endless mode hp ain't it, it feels more like something u see on wave 69 or post wave 80 rather than a full fledged one with love and care like their other boss (except the april fools one). When I think of spawner with an extremely expensive last upgrades (not using bliss of finality as an example), the first thing that comes to mind is the Doomspire Defense spawn with Sword master making an entrance and feeling like an actual boss attacking and summoning his units or Tower Battle graveyard where Jack shows up like the messiah and solo lategame with every unit before getting a glow up. I feel like John could come up with something better than the ones I listed. I hope John cooks up something far better than my expectations or I'm expecting too much for the last tower in the battlepass.
i'm no design expert but i think it'd be cool if relic reused enemies from all the chapters (although with that relic-esque look). maybe a (obviously weakened) ravager/striker, a battlemaster/pathfinder tank, an executioner, etc. maybe even upgrading previous units at max level like the Graveyard, so regular villagers are replaced by the heretic. obviously not all of these at once, unless the aim is to make it specifically for endless because the price would have to be huge in any case, here's hoping the relic rework will be awesome
What about barracks from doomspire defense because it basically has the boss from yellow mode but i do agree that doomspire defense has the nice detail on max lvl spawn.

cryo ranger:ranger but ice Commander:literally commander in tb but gives damage buffs instead Zed:it's just zed from TB Scarecrow:literally useless and straight up wastes a tower slot(the bait doesnt work on certain attacks for example you wont be able to bait engineer's minigun attack entirely) Flametrooper:it's basically the generic pyro tower from any other td game Relic:it's Graveyard from TB except the last level is much more overpriced
Cryo ranger is able to help with impossible maps with its reliable fire rate on top path Commander is a really good support tower with lots of range and a few offensive abilities that aid it Zed is really good for shredding game modes like expert Scarecrow is currently the best bait tower and it carries in game modes like chapter 3 Flame Trooper is also good on impossible maps and can apply extra damage to enemies without the need for micro (also good crowd control) Relic is . . . kinda mid rn ngl however it is getting a rework (and it better be a good one)
Honestly I would like event towers to not be so grindy. I didn't get Flame Trooper despite wanting it a lot because... it was grindy and TDS also exists. Getting a tower from winning the event like for Cryo-ranger should come back. Getting towers through the battlepass is a problem for me. If you could get towers from event win instead of event battlepass, players who just want the cosmetics could go for just them, and players who just want the towers, just the towers.
Ice or cyro ranger(whatever you called it) has prob the better obtainment than rest but isn't sadly that good although it can damage units with bullet resistance. And the zed,relic and flametrooper are uhhh prob the worst obtainment in td history.... it's basically like if tds made bp 2x times longer and added harvester as final reward(basically how relic feels like=grindy as hell) ik that people will just get tower and leave but it's not a good reason to make the battlepass very grindy making it really demotivating to grind knowing that you just end up playing solo anyway after grinding hours on event (mostly solo)

I feel like its rather the opposite for me, considering how rushed relic was, scarecrow was literally just straight from tb, and flame trooper just feels like a normal tower thrown into the event so john can say they have 3 towers Alongside bait towers just being SO BORING, this games tower deaths mechanic feels extremely underbaked since the only counter to it is literally just spamming, which isnt hard, that and medic as a whole just make the mechanic feel redundant. Wtd, for example, to counter tower deaths, have bait towers alongside tanks to stand there and has extra aggro so enemies will focus those first, also saboteur is a tower that exists to lower enemies damage and defence, adding even more counterplay. Overall that mechanic just feels incredibly useless in tdx, and its irritating since there are still several ways they could add tank like units in their games theming, such as riot sheild units you can place that have their own forms of damage resistance, and increased aggro so enemies are more likely to fire at them instead of your squishier units, but no, scarecrow an an autoclicker is all we have right now. Fuuuuun. (I just realised how much of a tangent i went on just to make a single point on why i dislike 1 tower, and my ass aint doing that for two more so) 1.hopefully relic feels less rushed when they release the rework 2.flametrooper shouldnt be an event tower and john was an idiot for doing so 3.PLEASE ADD OTHER WAYS TO COUNTER ATTACKS THAN JUST SPAM CHRIST ITS SO BORING

There shouldnt be more towers literally designed to just exist for the purpose of being spammed, its boring. spamming doesnt take skill, it isnt hard, its just tiring. (that overall describes tdx as a whole but thats besides the point) Having other ways to counter attacks then just hold left shift and spam click would honestly just generally benefit the game, joke tower or not it shouldnt be encouraged.

I personally disagree with idea of giving event towers a second path as it would take more resources and ideas for something that will ultimately be limited. Event towers are already an iffy subject. They’re great to bring hype to an event but they can annoying when new players see that they were limited time, and variety is really the backbone of a TD game like this. So giving said limited event towers even more opportunities just seems like a stretch. The resources and ideas that would’ve been used to make that 2 path could just be put into a permanent tower that everybody would be able to use years from now.
The spawner towers are probably the biggest offense of underwhelmig. Zed is still decently strong as of now but during one of the streams where john said he was nerfing zed, he also said behemoth was going to have better stats in the same price range, like what? Not to mention zed is only good on events or standard modes with normal paths. I hope he just worded it wrong. Relic not only has a kind of lame "boss" spawn whos purpose is just to run mindlessly into enemiee, but the other things it spawns do not reflect the late game/endless aspect of the tower at all. Your telling me that a singular 1500 hp troop is supposed to contribute to endless at all? Tower battles did this so much better, the main attraction does not die within 5 seconds of spawning and although the other spawns are still weak, at least they get their stats doubled.
I'm personally fine with these towers not having a second path. Giving away extra dev time to limited time towers is not a good idea for the longevity, and would continue towards the gatekeeping problem many TD games with event towers suffer from.
BTW to counter the gate keeping problem, I propose a 1 year exclusivity. Basically for the first year of an event towers existence, it can only be got from the event it was initially achieved from. After 1 year passes, the tower will then become obtainable through a large mission. I believe John said event replays will be added, so as an example for these 3 towers: Scarecrow: beat every night Flame trooper:beat every nightmare night, and deal 1,000,000 fire damage to enemies Relic:beat every nightmare and normal night 6 times, deal 10,000,000 damage with spawned units, kill calamity 15 times.
This way people who want to gatekeep a tower get a long period where they can, but the tower doesn't remain unobtainable forever. Maybe even throw in an exclusive skin for a tower if it was got from the original event.
My opinion on event towers is 'missed potential'. Limiting event towers to one path to make them 'unique' ultimately makes them less unique compared to every other tower defense. Dare I say it makes them kind of bland. This includes the TB towers as the choice feels a little archaic to me. To me, it all feels like if a game built itself up around the idea of all weapons having a unique alt-firing mode, only to take it away from event weaponry because "oh, we wanted them to be situational." While I wouldn't say it is the reason behind it, it almost feels like laziness. As if the Devs after making so many towers decided "Actually, I hate making two paths for towers" and take any excuse they can to make monopath. Again, not saying that is the case, but to me as a player that is how it feels. I love TDX and love watching when they do new things, come up with new concepts and push the mold for TD games on ROBLOX, but because of this it only hurts so much more when they decide to fall into the shortcomings of other TD games purely because of "Well, that's how it is/was." The Elevator System, FOMO Battlepasses and FOMO Crates. TDX is just one event tower away from being able to make loadouts that completely ignores a key mechanic of the game.
I feel like TDX has so much potential but they're kind of wasting it, while they could easily act upon it and fill that potential, but I think there main problem Is that they don't really listen to there fans AT ALL, a suggestion channel with admins/mods filtering them would be great and do actual wonders and help with balancing majorly and even give john and the dev team a few ideas.
4:09 i too dont have a problem with cryo ranger being kinda just ranger but i have a problem with it being a terrible tower its freezing sucks and bassicaly dosent work on early to mid game bosses, the top path has only ok dps wich still is not good at freezing bigger enemies and only realy usefull on small enemies and bottom path can freeze more consistantly bigger enemys but you need to buy at least more then one of them and have to spam the abilitys all that while being a big investment that has very low dps and dosent even have stealth detection Cryorange is just over all a bad tower that is worse then ranger, at least he is free, has good dps, molotvs and grenades are good CC for not that much of a high ivestment, and at least a way to damage bullet resistance enemies

Not to hate on you or anything but Tdx owner John Roblox officially said: *To make our event towers special were gonna make them one path exclusvie!* The point of event towers is to have something custom or can be a achievement that you got for participating in event for your reward they will give you the event tower, event towers might be kinda boring after sometimes but they were never! but never! said to be op, only alot of time n gold coins like Golden Juggernaut was meant to be op, event towers are better and better as event is harder and harder, the hardest Tds event has strongest event tower, thats a fact that all dev's follow! Cryo ranger was first event tower thats now not obtainable but was for doing event on Normal/Nightmare or 300 Robux, Cryo Ranger was first event one rn to not have one path, why? well maybe cause it was wayyyy after her planned to get all event towers to have 1 path which made Cryo ranger even more exclusive, after 2-3 years Cryo is be super rare and showing it off will be for super fame ! Also Im trying to get all event towets in Tdx wish me luck, Relic is a little troubling! Im lv 122 anyways and Im own all towers beside Relic even all Event ones well beside Relic. Read allat this and you will see the point of Event towers and your mistakes! Edit: Im dont think that you realise that all normal towers that arent exclusive will have 2 paths as causal. Event towers are limited exclusive towers that need to be unique, 1 path perfectly fits it as none other towers beside Event will have (CRYO R) 1 path, Tds's towers are unique by the ammo or abilitys they got, Tdx cant do much beside make abilitys and make 1 path, yea but Tdx's dev team is small and got only 1 coder, you shude not underestimate the hard work they put in these towers.

I disagree with 2 paths on event towers. I feel like even towers should be more limiting and specific as you can only get them for a limited time. 2 paths would make the tower feel less like an event tower and more like a normal tower. Also, the only reason Cryo-Ranger has 2 paths is because they didn't support single-path towers back then.
Its the same with tds event towers. Snoozefest. These tower defense games struggle to make a good event tower without nerfing it to the ground. It feels like with every new tower its just the new meta or complete... garbage

imo event towers are terrible game design because its gameplay locked behind a paywall, one of my bigger issues with tds and i dont want tdx to have one third of their towers behind a paywall…

The commenter said "locked behind a paywall," implying that if you missed the event, well then too bad there will be no way you'd obtain it unless you pay real money. That's kind of the problem with both TDS and TDX in my opinion. They do affect gameplay and with PVP coming up for both games, people who dont have them might just percieve it as pay to win.

Actually maxing scarecrow used to give a 5 percent damage buff around him, however John remove the buff since it's just free 5 percent buff, at the same time it can be overshadowed by sentry due to rebuild
Scarecrow dealing death damage is an amazing idea honestly and I would love to see that, but idk how useful it would be since outside of the halloween event the only towers that attacks are minibosses and bosses, and a bit of death damage wouldn't do too much to them/there would be better and more consistent options
I had the idea of giving Scarecrow the ability to 1 attack guaranteed, becoming invulnerable for a short time after reaching 1 HP

Honestly I feel the disappointment in the towers not having multi path, there as so much potential for the flamethrower and the relic to have multi paths that could interact with the game, like how the relic could have had it to where one would be focus on the overseer and another path could’ve focused on more minions like a unit that sets little traps or turrets as they walk down the path and a another type unite that could be a mortar where they will walk down the path and occasionally shoot a large whatever at the enemy’s and so on.

After watching the video fully, I have hopes for these towers, as I know they rushed them to reach the dead line but I hope they find these kind of videos to take some ideas for event towers, and if we’re really lucky enough they’ll add them further down the line as we’ve seen with tds where event towers are touched on or reworked completely so I believe that they could add these ideas in later updates when they have a full stable team and honestly I want to hear the ideas for more units to the relic or ideas on what could be done for the already existing units.

John said that all event towers, mabye with an exception of a few. Will have 1 path. This is to make them more unique and specialized, it also saves development time and adds room for them just to make a seperate tower instead. The reason cryo ranger has 2 paths is because when it was released, they were still working on a 1 path system.

Nothing will beat the flame trooper in tdx for me, the tower looks awesome at levels 4/5, the fire effects look SO GOOD, and the fart ability is hilarious

overall I agree, but here are some other suggestions for secondary paths.
Scarecrow:
First path: High bait range of like 25 or something but also gives a buff to nearby towers that reduces their chances of being targetted.
second path: low range of around 10 or something but when bosses or enemies are in range, their chances of targetting the scarecrow are like 90% or something.

I completely agree, especially with the disappointment of the event towers only having 1 path. I think Flame trooper and relic have a lot of potential for a second path + a tower not having 2 paths in tdx is just throwing one of the core aspects of the game away (excluding the tower battles towers + scarecrow). I think for a new path for scarecrow instead of buffing it should have the opposite effect of baiting, in which if you place the scarecrow near other towers enemies wont target those towers within the range. Which makes it stay true to the “Scarecrow” name as scarecrows were designed to keep crows away from

I really wanted relic to summon like just an actual boss with a health bar, multiple attacks, and everything (of course with a 1 at a time limit) it wouldve been pretty cool and unique
I hope the relic rework will give it 2 paths, lile barracks with one path having a boss (less allys but more dmg and hp), and the other is just the current spam
An idea I recently came up with was to keep the regular flame trooper path as the top path and make the bottom one focus and long range and putting a long afterburn effect on enemies with a slow firing rifle with incendiary bullets, could also give the enemy is fires around 40% damage vulnerability while the duration of the afterburn.
i can see how you see how disappointing they are, but like. their models and abilities are so good! but, because there is no multipaths its very stale and 1-dimentioned. so i can honestly see how your take on this! lovely video man! 👍- another idea: the 2nd path of flametrooper, it would give it this flame cannon, swapping the high fire rate for the single shot but powerful ones, kinda like a fire railtrooper?

The 2nd paths that I think should be on flame trooper and relic
Flame Trooper:
2nd path gets Molotov's that act similar to rangers m203 incendiary
Molotov's will be able to spread fire damage to enemies that are too close to each other
The 2nd path will also ignore flame resistance
Relic:
(First off for the 1st path I think all the units should be heavily buffed as you level it up so they will actually be useful instead of being thrown away when you get overseer)
2nd path goes for more of bottom path barracks style having a lot more troops and quicker spawn times
We will get a 2nd unit that acts like the dread knight in chapter 3 which will be very tanky and can stun enemies
Another unit will act like a necromancer being able to summon other units that are sort of like the wraiths from chapter 3 (however it will be balanced so that it has a cap for how many units it can spawn)
The last upgrade will be expensive and will heavily upgrade all the units and will also unlock a sort of mage unit
The mage unit will be act as a support unit being able to heal damaged units, increase their walk speed, as well as unstunning units that get stunned

1: Is it worthwhile to work on event towers 2nd path during the development of the entire event or be stuck balancing the tower a few times due to later added 2nd path?
2: How will players obtain event towers after the event ends? I am still considering the TBZ approach.

Anyways about if it's applicable to TDX, I was thinking of it like a side quest that requires you to beat a line of maps with such loadout with specific modifiers while collecting easter eggs during the process to "find" the lost event tower. Absolute pain to do but I am just rambling my fantasies if you read to this point and has slim chances of being applied. Most likely it's just beat such difficulty with modifiers like in TBZ or do tasks to unlock it.

My theory is that both relic and scarecrow will be limited while the flame trooper is basically a reward for getting them before their official release

What I personally don't like about the flame trooper being an event exclusive tower is that, flamethrower towers are generally common towers, the only proper way to get a flamethrower in tdx is the patrol boat which is not common due to requiring water. I hope John finds a way to keep the flame trooper as a regular permanent tower and replace it with something else.

I personally am very excited for the relic rework but i also get why the event towers only have 1 path so imagine you are like a new player and joined a bit late so you can't get the event towers anymore so if it would have 2 paths newer players miss more content than they would have to so if you put more content into an event tower more content would be missing for newer players ofc i would also like second paths but like you have to take the new players also into a count thats why im not that dissapointed that the event towers only have 1 path👍
The only thing im pissed off about is that when TB event ended, they replaced it back to the christmas event instead of just keeping the TB map and removing the battlepass. They might do the same thing to the Halloween event. Hopefully the big metal door in the hub becomes an event haven for those who couldn't experience it or just to play for fun.
I think the 5% DMG should be more like "Enemies who attack this tower(scarecrow) take 5% extra damage."
I think all of the event towers are pretty cool, but a lot of my issues are with relic. To me, the model of the tower itself feels kinda bland, they should maybe add particles to it to make it look cooler, but also the units have alot of issues. To me, the units feel kinda bland and don’t pop out at all, and overseer, despite its massive health pool, I’m still kinda unfazed by it. It dosent really feel special and in reality, all it is, is a massive damage sponge. John did say he wanted to give the players something that had boss levels of power, however when I here boss, not only do I think of high hp, I think of attacks and abilities, which overseer has none of.
To early to complain for relic but hey give it time. It's being reworked

Tbh I feel like they could’ve executed relic’s max level better, it is the one thing Im desperate hoping they rework. Im a huge spawner fan in fact I would’ve been fine with relic if the last level wasn’t boring. Don’t get me wrong the thought of having a boss on your side is extremely cool but some random guy running with endless mode hp ain't it, it feels more like something u see on wave 69 or post wave 80 rather than a full fledged one with love and care like their other boss (except the april fools one). When I think of spawner with an extremely expensive last upgrades (not using bliss of finality as an example), the first thing that comes to mind is the Doomspire Defense spawn with Sword master making an entrance and feeling like an actual boss attacking and summoning his units or Tower Battle graveyard where Jack shows up like the messiah and solo lategame with every unit before getting a glow up. I feel like John could come up with something better than the ones I listed. I hope John cooks up something far better than my expectations or I'm expecting too much for the last tower in the battlepass.
i'm no design expert but i think it'd be cool if relic reused enemies from all the chapters (although with that relic-esque look). maybe a (obviously weakened) ravager/striker, a battlemaster/pathfinder tank, an executioner, etc. maybe even upgrading previous units at max level like the Graveyard, so regular villagers are replaced by the heretic.
obviously not all of these at once, unless the aim is to make it specifically for endless because the price would have to be huge

Commander is a really good support tower with lots of range and a few offensive abilities that aid it
Zed is really good for shredding game modes like expert

Flame Trooper is also good on impossible maps and can apply extra damage to enemies without the need for micro (also good crowd control)

Honestly I would like event towers to not be so grindy. I didn't get Flame Trooper despite wanting it a lot because... it was grindy and TDS also exists.
Getting a tower from winning the event like for Cryo-ranger should come back. Getting towers through the battlepass is a problem for me. If you could get towers from event win instead of event battlepass, players who just want the cosmetics could go for just them, and players who just want the towers, just the towers.
Ice or cyro ranger(whatever you called it) has prob the better obtainment than rest but isn't sadly that good although it can damage units with bullet resistance. And the zed,relic and flametrooper are uhhh prob the worst obtainment in td history.... it's basically like if tds made bp 2x times longer and added harvester as final reward(basically how relic feels like=grindy as hell) ik that people will just get tower and leave but it's not a good reason to make the battlepass very grindy making it really demotivating to grind knowing that you just end up playing solo anyway after grinding hours on event (mostly solo)

I feel like its rather the opposite for me, considering how rushed relic was, scarecrow was literally just straight from tb, and flame trooper just feels like a normal tower thrown into the event so john can say they have 3 towers
Alongside bait towers just being SO BORING, this games tower deaths mechanic feels extremely underbaked since the only counter to it is literally just spamming, which isnt hard, that and medic as a whole just make the mechanic feel redundant.
Wtd, for example, to counter tower deaths, have bait towers alongside tanks to stand there and has extra aggro so enemies will focus those first, also saboteur is a tower that exists to lower enemies damage and defence, adding even more counterplay.
Overall that mechanic just feels incredibly useless in tdx, and its irritating since there are still several ways they could add tank like units in their games theming, such as riot sheild units you can place that have their own forms of damage resistance, and increased aggro so enemies are more likely to fire at them instead of your squishier units, but no, scarecrow an an autoclicker is all we have right now. Fuuuuun.
(I just realised how much of a tangent i went on just to make a single point on why i dislike 1 tower, and my ass aint doing that for two more so)

Event towers are already an iffy subject. They’re great to bring hype to an event but they can annoying when new players see that they were limited time, and variety is really the backbone of a TD game like this. So giving said limited event towers even more opportunities just seems like a stretch. The resources and ideas that would’ve been used to make that 2 path could just be put into a permanent tower that everybody would be able to use years from now.
fun fact: ALL relic units deal meele damage in their attacks, including archer (tested it out myself)
this makes archers really bad against enemies with meele resistance, like the executioners

The spawner towers are probably the biggest offense of underwhelmig.
Zed is still decently strong as of now but during one of the streams where john said he was nerfing zed, he also said behemoth was going to have better stats in the same price range, like what? Not to mention zed is only good on events or standard modes with normal paths. I hope he just worded it wrong.
Relic not only has a kind of lame "boss" spawn whos purpose is just to run mindlessly into enemiee, but the other things it spawns do not reflect the late game/endless aspect of the tower at all. Your telling me that a singular 1500 hp troop is supposed to contribute to endless at all? Tower battles did this so much better, the main attraction does not die within 5 seconds of spawning and although the other spawns are still weak, at least they get their stats doubled.

I'm personally fine with these towers not having a second path. Giving away extra dev time to limited time towers is not a good idea for the longevity, and would continue towards the gatekeeping problem many TD games with event towers suffer from.
BTW to counter the gate keeping problem, I propose a 1 year exclusivity. Basically for the first year of an event towers existence, it can only be got from the event it was initially achieved from. After 1 year passes, the tower will then become obtainable through a large mission. I believe John said event replays will be added, so as an example for these 3 towers:
Scarecrow: beat every night
Flame trooper:beat every nightmare night, and deal 1,000,000 fire damage to enemies
Relic:beat every nightmare and normal night 6 times, deal 10,000,000 damage with spawned units, kill calamity 15 times.
This way people who want to gatekeep a tower get a long period where they can, but the tower doesn't remain unobtainable forever. Maybe even throw in an exclusive skin for a tower if it was got from the original event.

My opinion on event towers is 'missed potential'. Limiting event towers to one path to make them 'unique' ultimately makes them less unique compared to every other tower defense. Dare I say it makes them kind of bland. This includes the TB towers as the choice feels a little archaic to me. To me, it all feels like if a game built itself up around the idea of all weapons having a unique alt-firing mode, only to take it away from event weaponry because "oh, we wanted them to be situational." While I wouldn't say it is the reason behind it, it almost feels like laziness. As if the Devs after making so many towers decided "Actually, I hate making two paths for towers" and take any excuse they can to make monopath. Again, not saying that is the case, but to me as a player that is how it feels. I love TDX and love watching when they do new things, come up with new concepts and push the mold for TD games on ROBLOX, but because of this it only hurts so much more when they decide to fall into the shortcomings of other TD games purely because of "Well, that's how it is/was." The Elevator System, FOMO Battlepasses and FOMO Crates. TDX is just one event tower away from being able to make loadouts that completely ignores a key mechanic of the game.
I feel like TDX has so much potential but they're kind of wasting it, while they could easily act upon it and fill that potential, but I think there main problem Is that they don't really listen to there fans AT ALL, a suggestion channel with admins/mods filtering them would be great and do actual wonders and help with balancing majorly and even give john and the dev team a few ideas.

its freezing sucks and bassicaly dosent work on early to mid game bosses, the top path has only ok dps wich still is not good at freezing bigger enemies and only realy usefull on small enemies and bottom path can freeze more consistantly bigger enemys but you need to buy at least more then one of them and have to spam the abilitys all that while being a big investment that has very low dps and dosent even have stealth detection
Cryorange is just over all a bad tower that is worse then ranger, at least he is free, has good dps, molotvs and grenades are good CC for not that much of a high ivestment, and at least a way to damage bullet resistance enemies

well maybe cause it was wayyyy after her planned to get all event towers to have 1 path which made Cryo ranger even more exclusive, after 2-3 years Cryo is be super rare and showing it off will be for super fame !

Edit: Im dont think that you realise that all normal towers that arent exclusive will have 2 paths as causal.
Event towers are limited exclusive towers that need to be unique, 1 path perfectly fits it as none other towers beside Event will have (CRYO R) 1 path, Tds's towers are unique by the ammo or abilitys they got, Tdx cant do much beside make abilitys and make 1 path, yea but Tdx's dev team is small and got only 1 coder, you shude not underestimate the hard work they put in these towers.

I am well aware JohnRBLX said that event towers will only have one path, that being said I heavily disagree with that statement.
And I am not under estimating the work that the TDX developers put it-- that's why an entire section of this video was dedicated to me saying that much.
I don't agree with the notion of 1 path == more unique.

@@AuthenticSaltz Im also well aware of point in your video, Zed and Relic would be so cool if they had 2 paths, Relic kinda looks like Overseer and max is spawning a Overseer named unit, Imagine 2nd path bottom a swarm not just a 300k boss like unit at end.

I disagree with 2 paths on event towers. I feel like even towers should be more limiting and specific as you can only get them for a limited time. 2 paths would make the tower feel less like an event tower and more like a normal tower. Also, the only reason Cryo-Ranger has 2 paths is because they didn't support single-path towers back then.
Its the same with tds event towers. Snoozefest. These tower defense games struggle to make a good event tower without nerfing it to the ground. It feels like with every new tower its just the new meta or complete... garbage

imo event towers are terrible game design because its gameplay locked behind a paywall, one of my bigger issues with tds and i dont want tdx to have one third of their towers behind a paywall…
Yeah its a plus not to have it, but if the towers are balanced then its not as big of an issue in td games

@@okgoose3305 It doesn't matter how you obtain the event tower. The commenter said "locked behind a paywall," implying that if you missed the event, well then too bad there will be no way you'd obtain it unless you pay real money. That's kind of the problem with both TDS and TDX in my opinion. They do affect gameplay and with PVP coming up for both games, people who dont have them might just percieve it as pay to win.

I dont get why making an event tower (in TDX) have only one path is good. Yeah it's unique but in a bad way like it's lame as hell
