Dino Jr. is one of those bands which can make 100 albums of the same genre and they all be good and have something unique to them.
Kinda like Motorhead!LOL! Just kidding, but Motorhead's 22 or so albums all sound the same! I was a teen in the 80's and have heard of Dinosaur Jr since the late 80's/early 90's but never really gave them a listen, being a heavy duty headbanger. Saw an e-mail for local concerts today and saw they are playing in Hamilton. Thought I'd check them out. This song is pretty good. On to the next one. I may just have to check them out live!
J is brilliant. Got a great player who can sing well while playing at the same time and is also creative enough to write memorable songs? You got a winner.
I hate to be that guy but aside from this song I didn't like any of the other tracks on this album. Yet, this is pretty much their best song ever. IMHO.

Dinosaur Jr is one of those few and rare bands that always produce something unique but always have their signature sound.
The little break at 3:08 with the floor buffer spinning out in slow motion and the two on the bike is so great. Especially the little chug-chug that brings it all back in.
Reminds me of being younger and listening to old school Dinosaur Jr on my headphones while skatin' around in the spring, bummed over some pending heartbreak, but happy to soak up the sun/catch some breeze. That's how youth worked, either cruising under the sun or wrapped up in the night; a little heartbroken, but mostly free.
One of the best, most epic guitar solos ever. PERIOD.
Are you serious!? You need to expand your musical horizon. That solo was fucking terrible and any aspiring guitarist can come up with that style of soloing after a year of learning the pentatonic scales. Check out Pantera’s cemetery gates solo and then tell me if this solo is still the best. And that’s just off the top of my head btw

God his solos build into some of the greatest sounds ever recorded on a guitar....unreal...and it’s even more crazy that this is after like 7 or 8 albums and they still deliver unreal songs like this....it just shows the true genius of J
J rarely hits any bad notes in his solos. Even from day one back in the early 80s he has been nailing all his leads like nothing. Truly a underrated guitarist. he deserves the same acclaim as any of the so called 'guitar gods'.
not without following them up with satisfying harmonic resolutions at least :p

Saw him live and it was crazy how it sounded so natural live.
Give him a Nobel Prize for Services to Music
His leads are so fluid and expressive but also noodly and meandering. They're always a notch or two away from sounding aimless and amateur but his incredible feel and intonation - cleaner bends than most players straight notes - always pull everything together. Very idiosyncratic, very identifiable player.
The only person I'd compare him to is vini Reilly, duritti column, much slower and less flashy but similarly fluid abstract expressionism on guitar type stuff
Those two solos wow, they've really outdone themselves on this one.
Heidecker has the ultimate "square dad" look. totally perfect for that role. they shoulda had Wareheim play her boss or something though!!

All us grunge era kids are getting old and are kids are almost grown..this hits home..my daughter is 17 and hardly hangs out with me anymore..always with her boyfriend..I just miss her now..enjoy every minute with your kids they grow up so fast

Great song. Awesome video. Really, really well made. In 5 minutes, this video comes across as more authentic than at least 50% of what Hollywood calls emotive storytelling.

One of my favorite s . Saw these guys 3 times in the mid 90's . I feel lucky for that. Just love Mr Mascis. My wife doesn't get it. But I'm a 43 year old dad and my son will listen to Dino for sure. Such a great time in my life back then.

Why do these 90s songs always get me right in the chest? I mean bands like Dinosaur Junior, Weezer, Smashing Pumpkins, Live, Pearl Jam - they just clutch at my soul more than any other era. I wish I was a 90s teen.

Read my comment again - you misunderstood it. There's tons of good music being made now. All I said was that the 90's had something unique and special that I haven't found in other eras (which have their own special aspects).

This song is great, maybe my favorite of their "reunion" era (thanks god it's a reunion that has lasted for nearly 10 years haha). I had the luck to see them live in Chile for free in a very hipster festival. They started with this song just in the sunset, the sky was orange and with the smell of weed. A really really chill moment. Then they played little fury things and it all changed to chaos haha.
Farm is their best 'reunion' album imo. But this is defiantly up there on my top Dino songs.

Hans Petersen Cores they made two shows, one in the Primavera Fauna festival and the other one in Santiago, can't remember tho. It was amazing, but i'm pretty sure they'll come again one day.

I've been a fan of these guys for a long time, but I kind of wore out a lot of there music so I stopped listening for quite a while, then I heard this song randomly and it made me get back into them heavily, now I'm back in the saddle baby! This song is righteous, there's no denying that.

I’ve loved this song for years, and I always assumed it was about watching the corners of tables, chairs and counters, to protect your child from bumping their heads. Then one day on my way to work, it gut wrenchingly occurred to me that as a parent, if your child ran away, you’d be searching, and WATCHING THE CORNERS of streets to see if their sex working, being sex trafficked or using drugs. So in a sense, you’re ALWAYS watching the corners.

J played this live on some radio show and immediately before it, he said something like "this song is about the life of a vampire." I have no idea what that means. My guess is that the "corners" are figurative. Like the old phrase "knocking around weird corners," in other words, watch the unexpected snags or complications that appear in whatever your plan is. He mentions a "plan" in the lyrics.
