On Insane/challenger you need to feed your units because they consume stamina every time they attack, the 10 food is fastest, 50 food is fast, and 250 is slow but gives a lot of food. Just order 50 food every 3-4 waves and feed all and you should be good for most stages. 50 food is best because its only 2500 and it comes the fastest. Insane gives 3x rewards so if you're grinding instead of only getting 1 material you would get 3 on completion so it basically makes grinding faster with the trade off being that its harder. Metal rush is for gold farming, you need crit units for metal rush. You can get 500k gold if you get to wave 40 insane mode. Mage child, nanami, overhaul are all good for critting metal rush mode Megumi is a good non evo and absolutely insane when he is Evolved You can turn unit animations off in settings so it wont pull in your camera and do the cinematics etc.
