also "bleibt stehen" means "stand still" in german. you can use it for moving people but also for the heartbeat. if you want someone running to stop you say "bleib stehen". if the heart stops to beat you say "das herz ist stehengeblieben" so in the chorus you can say it is use in a dual way to stop a moving crowd (closing in to the teller) and also his wish to stop their heartbeats

It’s more like somebody who is in a deep depression, these feelings do surface, and those demons are actual people. In the deepest depths of depression there is the wish for silence, I have been there, and this song is like this feeling.

The heart is one of the most important symbols in Till Lindemann's lyric. It appears as a metaphor in numerous poems and song lyrics."Mein Herz brennt" My heart is burning ,"Halt"stop, "Diamant" diamond , "Spieluhr"music box the album Herzeleid .

Spieluhr is in the Album Mutter not Herzeleid but yes, Herz is a common occurance in his songs

@@adrianenciso612 You did not understand me correctly. I didn't say that Spieluhr is on the album Herzeleid (Heartache)but that the word Herzeleid also contains the word Herz (Heart). In the song Spieluhr, heart is also mentioned several times (the little heart stood still for hours)

@@adrianenciso612 No problem, it can happen that you misunderstand something. Till's lyrics are really very interesting and he writes the best song lyrics in Germany. Heart, Angel (Engel), Knife(Messer), Tear (Träne), Pain(Schmerz), are the most common words he uses.

Maybe, but how come nobody notice the deep meaning he gives to the sun.
"I 'll lay the sun in your hearts" meaning killing, and freeing your spirit into the sun which methaphoricly he portraits as mind, emotions, spirit, strength, death and freedom from physic body, throughout different songs.
In "Spring" when saying a lot of people are going nuts (emotionally) expecting to see you jump off the bridge, he goes "but thousands suns (many people) are burning just for you"
In "Hilf mir" when the character narrating the song burns and dies, he goes "I climb toward the sun"
In "Sonne" narrating a boxing fight in an epic and basically a mithological way he goes "The sun shines out of my hands, it can burn and blind you" speaking of harmful punches.

2:30 "Halt" is not an "old song" is on the album "Liebe ist für alle da" from 2009, but it is one OF THE BEST SONGS EVER, A MASTERWORK!
such an oppressive song, filled with abysses of social mainstream, it's a shame they NEVER played this song live, there's so much power behind it, it would have so much potential.
Maybe they will play it on the stadium tour in 2022, you can dream!😍😍😍

It also can relate to be understand as ; Imagine you are that famous so 24h wherever you go, you never cant enjoy just being you. And constantly even if you are used to deal with fans, is this one person that just ruins the moment . So this happens constantly and you are always eating it until it might drives you crazy. Creating a shortcut, You just say to yourself it is enough and grab your rifle.

Halt is probably my favourite track off the Liebe ist fur alle da album. I'm trying not to sound like a lunatic here but Till verbalises a lot of my own thoughts about people around me. Social anxiety is crippling and there has to be some sort of release from it. I find mine in Rammstein. No need for a rifle with these guys to help me through things 😉 Excellent reaction and great analysis.

Yes, typically when an album comes out and their is a "Deluxe" edition with an EP's worth of b-sides, well, there is usually a noticeable drop in musical quality.
Not with Rammstein's 6th album. The 5 tracks on disc 2 are fantastic. "Halt" is great, along with Fuhre Mich and Donaukinder.

Yes all the above but this is about a person who is about to finally snap bc they're conflict avoidant and repress their shit bc it's too scary to confront the cause of emotional distress in the moment. You let that anger and defeat build up, you become chronically depressed and resentful and once you have nothing left to ground you and you keep getting poked, you'll eventually snap in that state. How bad you'll snap is anyone's guess...

I personally think this song is about the perspective of our planet and how it is suffering from overpopulation. Till talking about "they changed me" as like we found our ways to cheat nature and become more and more healthy so the population grows more than it decreases on natural causes. "Don't you see I don't feel well but you still pump blood" so we keep pumping oil and damaging the envirounment. "I try to eradicate them" as if the earth tries to find natural ways to decrease the numbers but we keep reproducing and swarming the planet.
And now my favorite part of the song: "nobody hurts me for fun, I bring light to their hearts. The decision is easy: I go home and bring my rifle!" This is what we are dealing now. Nature becomes extreme and catastrophes occur more and more. We did our jokes but now we pay for them. Earth lets light to our heart by letting the sun get stronger and stronger. And going home and come back with a rifle means the situation of a tsunami. first the water pulls back and recollect in a huge wave and then comes back and does immense damage to us.
A masterpiece of metaphoric word plays.
    Greetings from germany

Well that is wierd because i was thinking: Maybe Rammstein put themselfs into a misanthropic person that thinks humans are a cancer and there is too many of them (Which might be not true). In this case you would represent this ill person, since you seem to believe earth is hurting.

I don't know if this is the right place for my speech, sorry if it's inappropriate because you have an entertainment channel. But I will write here, delete my comment if you see fit.
But you were right about the fact that people with psychological problems don't usually talk about them. Since I'm in therapy, I can talk about it. I suffer from a relatively mild form of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Compared with, for example, schizophrenia, since I had and always had the understanding that everything that happens in my head applies only to me, while schizophrenics perceive voices and thoughts as part of the external world (for example, their anxiety is transmitted to the external world - paranoia). This is because they did not have the correct identification of the person in infancy, when the child ceases to feel like a part of the space. Or they received a serious psychological trauma that provoked a split in identity. I’m more fortunate, I understand where I am and where the outside world is, but, unfortunately, the superego has too much power over the ego, so there are 2 voices in my head, one is mine, reasonable and manageable, and the second one is also mine, but I don’t control it , and from time to time he speaks, voices thoughts that do not seem to belong to me (in fact, they belong to my subconscious) and I cannot get rid of them. Like a haunting tune stuck in my head. And yes, I was terrified at the beginning when I couldn't control my thoughts and couldn't get rid of the obsession of some of them, all this multiplied by anxiety gives OCD and all you want is for this voice to finally shut up. Especially when I was 13, it was a tough time when I was a kid, but I had to deal with this shit. And I was very afraid to tell anyone else about it because I didn't want to feel like a psycho and/or be in hospitals. Actually, for me there was no need to be in the clinic, but my childhood fantasy then managed to scare me. Now I'm 27 and my obsessive compulsive disorder has lessened but is still here. And now I already understand that this is my subconscious's way of telling me about problems and needs, and not a literal request to act in accordance with these strange thoughts. But yes, this radio is very difficult to turn off. Because the only way to turn it off is to first decipher the hidden message and then deal with it myself and with the help of a psychologist. I think that those who read me and are able to realize that they have problems (the psychotic group of disorders is not recognized), they should better seek help from a good specialist, psychologist or psychotherapist, because ignoring and hushing up will not help.
I lived with this problem alone for 12 years, because I was very afraid, and it only got worse. Although 2 years of therapy helped me a lot and I feel the best in my life.
I hope my experience and my speech will help people who find themselves in a similar difficult situation.

That is a hard one. The word you were looking for might be misanthropic ore sociopathic. I think they again try to get into the mind of somone that has a severe case of mental disorder with the feeling that other people are the source and maybe the ones that try to treat the "illness" make everything worse. As in "You tried to change me but my opinion stays" and we see images of doctors and hospital floors. (Not sure if the vid was custom made)

But only because of the first person form it looks like it is from the point of view of a misanthropic person.
What if the human being was the planet Earth itself, rebelling against destructive humanity through Till's narrative voice?

Just curious if you ever talk about current affairs in South Africa?... I guess it's still a shithole huh? Sorry you're stuck there. I heard it was barely possible to make ends meet and it's paycheck to paycheck even with what's considered a good salary job and even middle class ppl have to buy secondhand stuff (for bigger purchases) a lot of the time. The violence, crime and corruption were already rampant. I'm sure you might be able to relate to Rammstein more than most American listeners bc you have similar "political" environmental backgrounds. East Germany wasn't easy to live in, but honestly post 1970 it's probably preferable to modern day south Africa. Who knows, at least y'all can leave if you want... I dunno, who knows.

At the end of the day, life is what you make of it, irrespective of which country you reside in.
Each country has its own set of problems, no country is perfect.
At 22 years of age, I try and make the best out of each situation. Yeah, it might be hard to build the life I want for myself, but I ain't ever gonna stop until I achieve it. 😁
Ultimately, if you train your mind to focus on the things you want, not even bad circumstances will stop you.

@@ITN_Global Sorry, I was too curios and had to read this here and I have to say, for a 22 year old, that sounds very mature.
Well it did not stop the guys from Rammstein. As they officially started up in 1994 (4 years after the wall came down), Till was 31. I think that people who have it harder before often come through more easy, as people who never had to think about it, for all, because those people know, how to cope with difficulties and can solve problems in different ways.
For myself, I hope it will get further, although at the moment I have the feeling I am stuck, but I had a very rough childhood, with a father who is addicted to alcohol and a mother who seem to be a Narcissist. They both showed me "how welcome" I am in this family. Psychoterror from my father and because of it I heard often the line from my mother:"If you wouldn't be here, then I would have not married him (my father). So unfortunately, also because I heard from young age, that in every family it is like in that I was raised, I only realised with around 25 that this was anything else but normal. It takes a lot to have then at least a bit self-confidence by the age of 41 (which I am now). But it is good, that some have such self-confidence already at a younger age, so I really think, that it will work out for you, whatever you want to do. I wish you all the best. And for some reason, the band gave me always some kind of strength. Thanks for your reaction.
