I have trouble finding interesting snare breaks/warmups so these videos are really awsome they give me somthinig to do and you are so good at breaking it down in to understandable chunks i was wondering though if you could put a PDF of the sheet music in the description of your videos so that once i learn the whole thing i can have a whole sheet for reference
This is awesome! I learned this a few months ago, but it was difficult for me to feel the 11/16 in my head for while, so I'm glad you made this so others can learn this easier! As for the next tutorial, you should do Ditty 08 Remix. There is barely anything online covering it, but I think it's super underrated and definitely worth people's time learning it.
This is a good one! I'm still struggling with the cheeses and inverted triple stroke threes in measures 23 & 24, but other than that this one is actually doable for me, I'm gonna be working on this before my next season starts
yes that are very hard, I find that concentrating on the two quiet taps (3 if you include the grace note of the flam) not the flams (or cheese) helps keep my hands moving.
i don't want to discourage you, but learning traditional is fine, but this exercise in general is just way too hard if you're just learning traditional. BD stuff in general is meant to be for some of the best of the best. This exercise is great, but some of the nastier chops and stuff you might have to do under tempo for a year or so before that left hand will be strong enough to hit some of those chops. Just a friendly word so there isn't any disappointment if it's too hard.
@@ArcherWillows yeah i know lmao. my school for some reason doesnt teach traditional so im going to learn it with match and then just try and implement it over time. thanks though
First of all I love all your videos and your content is so amazing and helpful but I have been struggling with Atlanta quest's FD Singles warm up though if you have the time I think it would be a great video
Quick Question: I've been trying to get my double stroke rolls stronger. Currently the first beat in the double is very accented because of the rebound. I tried the double beat exercise and it was great at getting the beats to be the same volume when I went slow. But when I sped it up I had to use the rebound to stay in tempo, but that led to my first double being accented again. See the problem I'm having? Are there any tips you'd recommend for getting my double stroke rolls to be stronger and more even? PS: I cannot tell you how helpful your videos have been. You break everything down slowly and simply and it really demystifies things. I saw Santa Clara Vanguard's 2018 snare break and was like "yeah I'll never be able to play that". But after seeing your video I realized that if was just faster versions of things that I was already familiar with. It was SO helpful. You're great at what you do! Keep making videos!
I struggled with doubles a lot too, how I got them clean was just to practice simple open rolls (rrllrrll...) on a pad while i listened to a podcast or watched videos or tv episodes or whatever. It's tedious work, but your doubles will get a lot cleaner and tighter just by working on them for extended periods of time
That second cam makes your hands look so good when I always thought you had old man hands this whole time haha
Don't be fooled they are still old, lol
😂
Such a cool warm up!!
There needs to be someone like you who does this for the tenors 😭, ofc I’ll still learn the snare exercises though
This is sick!
Thanks for watching
God bless you Geoffrey! Love what you do and the education that you provide!
Thanks man, appreciate the comment!
You are awesome man! Please keep it up I appreciate you seeming like a genuine dude with no ego .
welcome back
Thanks Wooly, good to be back!

Superb, great chops also!!
Thanks Andy! hope you got it now!

yes its a strange time signature, glad you got it down, will see if more want Ditty Remix!
@@FreestyleRudiments I'll add my vote for Ditty 08 Remix.
@@FreestyleRudiments i will also add my vote for that
@@FreestyleRudiments I also add my vote. It would be sick to learn, and the sheet music is out there but it's just hard to comprehend.

I might learn traditional just to try this

@@ArcherWillows Thanks for the advice!
Accent the second hit on your two stroke rolls
hey man, you should do a lick from Carolina Crown, maybe from 2019 or 2018, because some of their stuff is kinda fun
yea I need to do some crown, Cadets or Boston soon I think.
should breakdown “twitch” from broken city tbh
that 13:6 is gonna be fun to see him teach
The music is cut off on the right side of the screen
sorry, cant fix it once uploaded without re upload :(
It’s okay. Live and learn
