I think we can all appreciate your transparency with the issues and struggles that you go through with your builds. We can all learn so much more by seeing the problems, the diagnoses, and the solutions. The behind the scenes stuff that we rarely get to see, but we love to see.
I love this build just as much as the Supra tbh and it’s only been a few episodes. What a cool ass project. You could feel how bummed Ryan was. Only smiled after the timesert was put in.
It’s extremely inspiring to watch and learn from someone at your driving level who also has the technical ability to diagnose, fix, and teach in an extremely entertaining way! Thank you for all your great work and content. Best wishes.
man cars never change, nice hustle, its comforting to see the issues you're having in a way, appreciate what you do and the time to film and upload these videos, big fan, love this truck -trashpanda
Stout is coming along so nicely. Also cool to see a youtuber driving by places I actually know! I still smile when I drive by the old house thinking of the shenanigans that went on there.
love these videos so much - thank you for making it all in one video instead of like multiple videos waiting for the fix. so interesting can’t wait to see the dyno!
I thoroughly enjoy watching this build. I just wanted to mention that there is a set of washers called Nord-Loc which use a mechanical wedge and splines to "bite" into whatever the hardware is clamping. They maybe worth while to look into.
It’s so awesome to see you ripping this down Route 27! I grew up basically on this road. Love seeing familiarity in your videos ♥️ Also the Stout is amazing.
So, hat washers weren’t fully seated… Ooops. Love the transparency. Bright side, it didn’t fail at a event where it would matter. Just a pain in the ass / learning experience. Thanks for sharing.
20:22 Almost panicked and turned it off. 😂😂 ... It was cool to see that machine work. 15 Ra is very impressive from a cut. Usually have to grind or polish to get that finish.
Dang wish you were home Sept 10 bro Tuscan village Salem NH exotic meet.. it's where the old horse track was place is insane bro 100 million dollar complex in front of the Rockingham mall ❤
Arp head studs have the same issue in the 7m Toyota engines.....there is a company that makes larger washers that seems to have solved the issues of them sinking into the head.
He demanded an increase in his normal salary of Doritos and Hentai comics. He asked for a monthly supply of Coors and a life sized cuddle doll of Hatsune Miku. Ryan was not willing to acquiesce to his reasonable demands.
@RyanTuerck I noticed you zipped the studs in but did you by chance did you back them off a 1/4 turn or so because if not that can cause damage to the block.
I cant stand that kicking back on cranking startup. That is usually because cranking advance is too much. Tell the tuner about it. Its either cranking advance or your engine grounding is not very well done.
Makes you wonder if the ARP head stud is worth it.. I see they have an additional washer underneath it. Wonder why ARP doesn't just make the primary washer the needed size. Props to you and your support team on the quick recovery.
WTAF are you dribbling? The engine builder machined the head to accept a hardened insert washers. This is done to protect the alloy from tearing whilst whatever washer would normally be turning against it during the tightening/torquing of the head bolt or nut. It is common practice on motorsport engines because they get rebuild regularly. The insert washers have obviously moved in the head during heat cycle which has released the tension on the stud and nut. Nothing to do with ARP. An admired oversight in the video. Why use stud and nut? Because a superior clamping load is obtained for three reasons 1) the torque applied isn't being twisted over the length of head bolt against the course thread in the block 2) the top thread on a stud is a finer thread pitch, roll formed not cut, which reduces the coefficient of friction therefore increasing clamping load at a given torque 3) better material which allows a higher torque which equals higher clamp loading.
He clearly explained its because of the soft cast head that the extra washers are used and they would have been developed by someone pushing this engine. Arp are a stronger replacement for a factory item .
Wow nothing worse then major problems with a fresh build Ryan! Handle it well lucky you didn't bring it to Aus because you would be in jail for a few years driving that on the street!!! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow 😀

The behind of the scenes stuff is really important! Super happy and grateful for the full insights of the Stout.

Glad to see it back together at the end! 🏎💨 can’t tell you how much this video resonated with the mechanic in me 🔥💯
Absolutely love you videos.
Best on RUclips for drift related car build. Love the vibe and energy.
I feel your pain Ryan but you're making it happen. It's cool to see a machine shop that's clean and squared away. Love this truck!

Awesome to see you down under

Open loop cooling system? 🤨
Looks like it'll be a fun ride once you get all the little things figured out nicely done 👍
this project is awesome, thanks for sharing!

That Mobil 1 sticker from the inside tricked my mind into thinking it said Midol which I thought was cheeky and funny until I realized "brain cells".
That machinist is like a frickin surgeon
Bummer, that sucks. Glad it's back on track.
The joys of complex builds, shout out to perseverance!

Freaking killing it bro 🎉
that thing sounds amazing and that canterlever suspension 🤤
That machine shop dude was super cool
Stout is awesome now let's hear about the red 94 Celica plans. Rally/Gymkhana build im guessing.
Don't forget to re-index those cams.
I freaking love this thing!
I love how working on cars you smell your fingers with whatever you put it in and it seems normal no strange looks lol 🤣🤣

Will the Stout be at any local events in the next year?
Great stuff except now I want a sequential!
Rob dahm had the same problem with his waste gate but seems like you both had the same solution
Nice surprise adventure!
SalvaTech is from Puerto Rico is 😮the best mechanic in 3sgte engine. He has an AE86 3SGTE with over 1,000Whp for drag.

@18:48 did you have a bit of a wind episode? Your pop-up is as happy as your head from the test drive.
Heard that thing from my mom's house in LDerry 😂
Nice. That mustve sucked. Everyone knows that first start/first drive terror 😅
Ryan Posts Up A Video... I Click On It!🤷🏽
at 4:40 I thought you had a black poodle along for the ride!
😂😂
As long as 6 quarts of oil and 20 pounds of metal pooped onto the freeway, it’s only a minor setback. It could have been much worse. 😅
Well you're/were so nervous because of how things went the last time you drove it buddy. It's understandable.
“Everything isn’t roses” but onwards and upwards anyway (-8
hi @ryantuerck what engine is that for toyota?
Nice
Enjoying this one! What happened to Dom?
He secretly works with Elon at Space X building Dom-spec rockets 😂

@@jdoe9518 excellent points but you should know nearly all bolts you touch are roll formed, its just quicker than cutting threads in mass production
