i think u will find that if you go onto the ITF website which btw is the federation created by the founder of taekwon-do General Choi, u will notice that it is spelled Taekwon-Do.
Cheers. I train under Sabomnim Mikhail Kolwart in Estonia. I wouldn't admit, that Korea is best at TKD still. I can tell it because my training mate (Eduard Svarval) has won the III International Martial Art Games, held in Bangkok. He stood with a Korean in the finals (-71kg), and Knocked him out with a front Yop-chagi. The Korean style is short-distanced agressive h-t-h style. European is Front yop-chagi, and long distance holding. Both these styles are useful.
@yonpets I know this response is to a comment made 2 years ago, but in Korea there were many so called styles. TKD is actually an encompassing term, ubiqitous if you will. GEN Choi had his school called OH Do Kwon. Most of the Korean schools were some off shoot of Shotokan, Gen Choi himself obtained a 1st dan in that art. I see videos like this one and other of WTF and they are nothing but sports competions. Rarely do I see any application of forms, that is art.

As time passed and many of these masters left the ITF, their photographs were removed from Choi's series of taekwondo textbooks and replaced with photographs of current ITF masters... One of the main reasons for their departure was Choi's insistence on initiating relationships with totalitarian state- North Korea.
