- WITH THE mechanical work sorted for now, and seeing as how the car made it to Kg.Jawa Klang easily, it's time to take a look at what can be done to refurbish the interior 😀
As per a few of my Weevils in the past, I'm getting Heng Cushion in Klang to sort out the front seats of the KE30, as well as removing the plastic from the door cards.
I also discovered that the original carpeting is still in very good condition underneath the plastic floor cover! I'm getting that removed too, since the front seats have to come out anyway. Really looking forward to what Heng Cushion can do, stay tuned folks!! 😊👍🏽🙏🏽

That door trim plastic cover reminds me of my dad's ford escort 1.3gt. Exactly the same.

wow ! how cool is it that they can match the old seat pattern ! Yeah you are right ... old school interior guy for old school car . I remembered those old plastic wrap at the doors.. those days most of the datsuns have them as well . Cool !! looking forward to the journey !!

These seats have seen better days .. still they are holding up after so many years .. good luck for the front seats :)

Haha, I just noticed the previous owner covered the cabin floor carpet with vinyl. Owners that really wanted to preserve the carpet back then used this method, but have to be really keep an eye on floor pan rusts and water beneath it.
Correct!! I'm removing that vinyl, from what I see the carpet below it's still pristine!! 😃😃😃
My late father always took extra steps to protect the car. There was always something put over something else to protect it. He'd even tell us off if we rev'd the car a little extra to warm up the engine. He really loved it...
