Leia's interpretation goes so deep, it is shocking, indeed. I made a quick comparison with Oistrakh and found no disadvantage whatsoever. A new star is rising!
@@jackburgess8579 Dear Jack Burgess, I think you are speaking about Alexandra Dovgan. For me she's one of the best pianists in the world. I've seen her in Geneva. It was a great concert ! There are other good young pianists that I follow on RUclips : Varvara Kutusova, Harmony Zhu, Nora Lubbadova, Sunny Ritter, Agafya Korzun, Elisey Mysin, Klara Gibisova, Roman Sher, etc. Sincerely.
@@haroldlabrique608 Thanks. I was overwhelmed by what Alexandra did in 2017 and 2018, but I haven't been entirely convinced by her recent Beethoven or Chopin. In contrast, Chloe Chua has gone from strength to strength, and I think her performances these past two years are already at the level of the greatest masters of the 20C. Pretty much, I only have ears for her. My comment was an expression of surprise that you should equate Leia with Alexandra, even though her performance here is of course excellent and very impressive. It deserves to be much better known than it appears to be. I have listened to a bit of Korzun, Mysin and Sher, but I am glad to know of the other young pianists you mention and will check them out.)
@@jackburgess274 Dear Jack Burgess. Thank you for your detailed answer. I have two more young pianists to add at my precedent list : Michael Andreas Haeringer (directly descent of Franz Liszt) and Laetitia Hahn. If, like me, you appreciate young musicians, and if you don't yet know them, you should listen to : Luka Coetzee (cello), Lucie Horsch (recorder), Anastasia Tyurina (balalaïka), Sophia Tyurina (Saxophon), Alisa Sadikova (Harp). All are great artists. Sincerely.
This young lady's ability is other worldly. Few violinists execute the staccato passages in the finale as written, i.e., in a single (up) bow stroke. Anne-Sophie Mutter is one. I cannot think of another who accomplishes this in both directions, i.e., up AND down.

The adorable Sibelius violin concerto by a most adorable young girl. Such a fantastic prodigy. Thank you. Muito obrigado!! Muchísimas gracias!!
Terrific playing for any age!
Indeed, a new star has risen!
Something I can never do! I took in what I could and enjoyed the style! She’s a wonderful musician and young girl!
Wonderful ! Incredible playing and really good interpretation !
Superbe
BRUHH SHE WAS 12! My self esteem is completely gone now, Leia
Not to take anything away from a wonderful performance, Leia was 13.
(The date of this concert was 22 November 2019.)
