Anyone else coming here after Ray Chen said Leia is not a prodigy? I came here not knowing who Leia is and just witnessed the best performance of this piece for me. I could not stop listening. Thank you, Leia! I wish you all the best and that you continue to bring your enlightened music to our world!

IMHO these days in music circles 14-year olds are already too old to be evaluated as a "prodigy". But Ray Chen is still wrong, Leia Zhu was/is definitely a prodigy. It is interesting that Ray doesn't consider himself to have been a prodigy. He mentioned in interviews that he considered his own development to be just normal (not special) and many other children are just like he was when he was a kid.
I am convinced this young lady has it within her to become the greatest of all the great violinists.A big statement yes,but she is something very,very,very special.

Being this good at 15, it's scary to think how far she will go and how formidable a player she will become in 5 to 10 years!

It was once said of Heifetz that players of his calibre emerged once every a hundred years, of the calibre of Josef Hassid once every two hundred. We are now seeing the fruits of Leia Zhu's outstanding infant precocity. Her command of the instrument already surpasses that of her front-rank predecessors and most if not all of her contemporaries. A gift beyond measure, cultured by hard work and dedication, and inspirational on so many levels.
Outstanding performance from LEIA ZHU. In particular, the clarity of every quick and high notes, along with he bow control amaze me.
I have heard this piece countless times but have never enjoyed it so much! The wonderful musicianship of Miss Zhu!
