- This is the preliminary tests for the the new Warhead 'Base' motor, a lower cost brushless motor - more tests to come.
I do these things because I didn't pay for the motors, don't do what donnie don't does!
If you jam the gun the motor will notice & stop firing... but then when it comes back to life, if you try to fire the gun again there's a 90% chance you'll blow the motors little computer!

I snapped both my tabs, and was able to send it to a us based repair guy, they did an excellent job, and they came back much stronger

@@weixinlin446 the male spade connectors on the motor. People commonly call them "motor tabs"
Don't know about other people but before I buy any gun I check how it's built and how it's gonna hold up. Looks alone are not enough to be sure that what your getting is gonna be good. As thus far, never had issues with the guns I chose.
@Riorozen I actually do know the owner and the tech that works there plus just generally being one of those people who goes to the extreme to study up before I walk into anything. Either way, you don't need to be friends with any owners to get access to gear before use. A bit of research goes a long way, simple as that. Took me about a year to wrap my head around all of it. And so far, built some really nice hardy shooters, while suckers payed through the roof for stuff that broke long before mine. You'd be surprised how far a bit of tlc goes as I find many treat their guns like toss, and can't fix basic problems. Like any tech, it needs a basic understanding for maintenance sake. Overall it's not rocket science. Negative airsoft is a decent channel. He who dares not offend, cannot be honest.
M4 lower RIS rails were jubilee-clipped onto real steel DEVGRU blasters. Looks shit, but has a real world function.

Absolutely loving my Bolt Mk18, but I had the chance to handle and use a Bolt MP5 too, they are just nasty. The selector was pissed in it like this one and the silencer was noticeably wonky looking down it.
"Damaged hop up slider" in that PatrolBase boneyard ad as well. God, I love airsoft ads: "Prolly an EZ fix, just not got the time to B honest m8"
At least you're able to replace that handguard with a coke can with minimal to no difference

The tabs on the original were a gripe for me and haven’t put it in my gun as yet. Probably lucky as I had a nightmare and couldn’t get the motor out my SD6 last I had it apart. Turned out the pinion was catching on the gear box case and I pulled off the rear end of the motor trying to get it out. Anyway, very glad it wasn’t the war head.
I own 2 BOLT MP5s. The A4 and the SD5. The A4 is a much better handguard design. A quick fix for the barrel mis alignment issue, get a small o ring and heat shrink it on the end of the barrel. Mine is perfectly aligned now. No excuses for the poor design BOLT.
I have put 16.1 gears and a mosfet in mine and the trigger response and recoil is fantastic on an 11.1v.
I didn't get the upper/lower reciever issues in mine but the hop unit problem was the same in both. I packed mine out with Teflon tape to make up for the tolerance. Again, no excuses BOLT, you could easily fix this with a better barrel clip. The positive of the hop unit is that it doesn't adjust under the heavy recoil. At least they got that right.

Bodge the barrel support using an o ring on the barrel to centralise the barrel to the faux surpressor and hold it in place.

Bushings went within 3 games
Semi lock up and jammed, I think was due to the ARL spring changed to a weaker one and didn’t lock up again at same time installed a btc spectre mosfet (aeg)
It always sounded atrocious, no matter what gears I used the only ones I found to work well was promy wide use, ( watching your videos I reckon now it was the casing. ) then the selector went too so I beat the hell out of it till it was in as many pieces I could make.
the m4 rail section attachment is done by devgru thats why its on there which is nice cuz then u dont have to hose clamp it on
Ose clamps are right for the look which us the tradeoff
I just got a older Cyma Mp5 electric blowback, doing. A few mods to it but it has most the issues you mentioned aren’t a problem on the Cyma

I have both a BOLT Mp5A3 and Mp5K. I am amazed at how poor the SD is compared to them. The only issue I've experienced is the hopup unit.
I'm in the process of planning a new build, and I was hoping either the bolt AK or MP5 platform would be a decent basis. I have a bolt b4 and it has much of the same poor quality. The motor was an absolute pita to get in/out and chewed my titan wires to bits. After much messing around and having to completely destroy a pistol grip to get the motor out I discovered the hole in the gearbox for the motor shaft was milled/cast on the piss. I'm reluctant to spend good money on something built so poorly, but I want electro recoil for a no fuss build. Looks like I may have to get a retro arms gbox and machine it out to fit a recoil kit...

The m4 rail was probably put on because years ago a guy in the Navy SEALs was spotted using a MP5SD with an m4 rail jubilee banded in that position. So bolt have gone off this because there's been a trend of people doing this for sales!

32:30 what is that whirring noise? Is it just the gearbox spinning and chewing the gears to pieces? I bought a 2nd hand G&G MP5 and on 7.4v LiPo it would do this often. I took the gun apart to find the gearbox shell hadn't been closed properly. I opened, inspected and reassembled and the noise stopped. Even when stepping it to 11.1v LiPo it didn't happen anymore.
Are motors drop in upgrades or are there things I should be looking to upgrade at the same time? Sounds like it would be a pretty good upgrade on LCT guns as I've heard their motors are pretty weak

I don't know what it is with BOLT and their MP5s but they seem to just have endless problems. Their M4s are solid
Currently having the same issue with a bolt sr47, the mag catch broke due to the same issue and so did the ebb function for the mock bolt because it's made of cheap clear plastic. Having a really hard time finding parts for it too.
Cheap clear plastic in a RIF of such expense? Good fucking lord
@@ringmastermodels yeah it goes to the mock bolt in the top of the gearbox shell for the blowback function. It's not important to the rifle thank God but I'm trying to fix it if I can for the guy, but he may have to do without it, the only recoil gun I've had my hands on that I'd recommend would be gbbrs or the kwa rm4 platform, so far this rifle brand hasn't been impressive

Can you disassemble the testing one to show off it's internal structure? I wonder how DIY-able those brushless motors are, how magnets in rotor are located and how they place coils in stator to fit this construction in such unusual shape
Perhaps a selector thingie can be 3d printed, even if internal dimension will fuck up due to thermal shrinking you can always heat the rod with a lighter and it will go through

I have a bolt mp5 not the SD version and it seems pretty solid the hop up adjustment is wank for sure. i think mine might be an old review version as when you fire it with the charging handle locked back the fps drop through the floor and the bb flies as though max hop is applied. other than that everything seems really solid it has no play on the receiver but then if mine is an old review copy i think the QC on it might have been better than what they throw out today
edit: one more problem the selector switch can go past the safety giving it the appearance of being safe but still able to fire however I have seen this on other mp5 models

It is the first time I saw a video on the bolt mp5 and HOLY S..., Bolt took the crappy SRC design and made it even worse! Selector seems to ve the same flimsy crap, but that barrel wobble and hop-up wobble wasn't on the SRC. Not that the SRC hopup can be adjusted in any meaningful way
If you would, which mp5 is the best to get? My mate wants one and trying to give him some help on what to get. Thanks in advance

Hy i booth my self a Bolt B4 keymode, it has a 6.00 precision barrel at 370 mm long, and i wanted to change the hop chamber with a rotary MaxxModell, so i asked a friend to give one to me. adding the hop unit to the barrel, and a new hop bucking ( super macaron 60) i can not close the replica.
do you know if there is a good hop unit that can get inside the bolt airsoft replica ?

Question: what would be a great gun to get that is perfect to both fully upgrade and most of all to learn all the tech. Meaning it works amazing when completed. But I can also just fail at it and learn. I do prefer all metal. Since i do tend to use my guns as a "tool". So durability is important to me.
Even though there is much hate here for VFC. People tell me its good for tech. Since its 100% tm spec. What do you all think?

I know you are not a fan of TM recoil shocks but you really should check one out if your thinking about getting an AEG MP5. They are 1 to 1 scale and a much more faithful representation.
They are like 500 quid for a wanker toy gun
They also don't hop a 28g well, the range is terrible & cost double what they should.

I have a question. I have a bolt brss m4 standard with shiming only. Is it worth to change the motor with a better one?( High torque). Also what else would be a great upgrade? Not huge budget.
That is shocking as fuck if I was working in bolt I wouldn't put the m4 rail on I would put in those screws but file the length down so then nothing catches them and that would be a better bloody job then that shit atm.
So there is a great Idea for you luke take those screws and file the length enough so nothing touching them inside and that would be better then having that shit on
This Mp5 looks like an SRC at the front - possible? The assembly is the worst ever anyway..

Just looked up the price of these motors..BLOOMIN HECK !!. I guess they think airsofters dont know that brushless motors have been around for decades and are just as cheap to produce as brushed ones lol. A similar spec motor + esc for an rc plane is around £30.

@@sigee32 Hi Simon these are not standard fare motors and a good quality brushless in runner motor is not cheap to produce or design. If you are buying a motor and esc for £30 it is a banggood special and is the absolute lowest quality product you can find. The benefits of using a brushless motor in airsoft are absolutely massive, trigger response, amp draw, power, heat soak, battery life (being up to 5 times longer than some brushed motors) to name a few. We own several RC hobby brands and actually produce RC motors for some of the biggest brands out there and some of the motors run into hundreds of dollars each and the escs can also be very expensive. A £30 motor and esc combo buys you absolute garbage at the lowest end of what Shenzen produces. You cannot use the equivalence in airsoft it just wouldn't work as the load it has to deal with is nowhere near comparable.
@@warheadindustries2656 I will admit that my £30 quote is very low end gear and I suppose the first try at anything new has its costs. It could be worse, you can buy a metal tube (barrel) for over £100 for airsoft lol

My bolt mp5 was wank stock, performance was garbage, it is a million times better than it was with a few parts though. I dare say these issues will manifest eventually. The railed handviard is off spec. Sizing is out when I looked at after market options. The mag that comes with it is fit for the bin too
Yea, I threw some better gears and a mosfet in and the performance is great. Oh and a Maple leaf bucking.
I whould have pressed it a bit smaler and then slide it on from de front, whouldent press it on. But hey im no expert.

Bolt mp5 is wank, not worth the horrendous price tag, just Built so poorly for what your paying. I own G&G arp9 and it's stock and I love it and only paid £200 less than bolt. It beats the bolt in every category... Literally I couldn't be anymore happy with it!
And M4 BOLT is it good?
I don’t have any Mp5 or Mp7 in my collection because i don’t want an EForce one.
I do like the high end EForce ones as a last resort but i only find the cheap plastic versions in stock!

Ok honestly I thought ah warhead are making motors that are gonna be a bit better then stock ones like shs, no these are not!!! They're impressive given a stock cyma destroyed itself in the same test while the warhead lived!!!

Just watched this video , I’ve only put 1 mag through mine from new as been ill, I’ve looked at mine after this and has all the same faults what a pile of dog shit,
I have this gun and I can confirm that this is the worst quality per $ I have ever seen in airsoft. And I have 39 guns so I know airsoft. Stay away from BOLT Airsoft.
Bolt produce some solid guns it's just this design (mp5) that are shit.
