Great video as always! It lightens my day to see such genuine content and approach! Absolutely hit the nail on the head with the Deliveroo/Amazon and Wolverine engines 😅
This video for new techs who dont understand it properly, is criminally underrated! This would of been so useful to know when i got started. There are too many snake oil videos out there.
I just picked up a brand new TM 416c NGRS with 5 mags for $300 locally. I’m excited to give it a run down and see how it compares to the rest of the market. I feel like getting it for the price I did, I don’t have any reason to be biased during the review. Great vid as always.
Thank you for the suggestion I literally just bought the bolt after this video and I have to admit it is interesting. Especially when you spent the amount of cost close to Tm recoil shock and even bought upgrades for it. I also agree how much of a pain it was for those wires are..
I have always run a 5000mah 60C li-po in my MP5, I'm not force feeding it 300 Amps as some will believe as it will still only draw the 20A or whatever it needs from the max available supply. It just has no voltage drop under load, no bottle neck of power to the motor, no strain on the battery and the weight in the stock balances it nicely.
Luke . Ive started using leather sink washers for aoe for the reasons you stated . They are tough and dont compress like airpads but dampen the shock. The leather also holds up very very well.
Luke your giving away all your secrets. Ive only meet 1 other tech that will bevel their gears / rack ... its amazing what a difference a few mins of polishing can do.
Luke! Have you seen the new ASG ultimate cylinder heads? May be a great part for bolts- they no longer have the two o ring and pad, it’s just one big ass pad that provides the air seal and piston cushion- check them out, could be really good
I only like the recoil on my Gbbr for the immersion and the realism of the controls and operation of my airsoft gun. I play not for competitive reason it’s strictly for immersion and to have fun. I completely agree with you on losing accuracy with a recoil airsoft gun but at the end of the day it’s not that much your losing and you can obviously still get plenty of hits with a Gbbr and there just way more fun in my opinion. I absolutely love my Western Arms system Gbbr and I’ll never go back to an aeg cause idc about winning I care about the feel of the gun and operation of reloads and the bolt locking back in the last bb it’s an amazing feeling and to be able to have those functions like a real and be able to shoot at ppl without killing them haha is awesome . But I do agree with you on the accuracy. I am far from a speedy boi so I’m not very fast on my trigger so my follow up shots are fairly accurate and I’m def not running my gun on full auto so I quite like the recoil. Also I absolutely love your channel and your honesty about the industry and life in general it’s a breathe of fresh watching your channel compared to others who get a free gun to say awesome things about it just to receive the gun and it be less than par . I’ve had my friends buy 400 dollar plus vfc or krytacs so on so on and they don’t perform as well as my specna arms 185 dollar aeg that’s shoot 20rps stock and that’s fast enough for me and a pretty snappy trigger response also for a stock sub 200 dollar aeg and I laugh and they get pissed and tell keep buying a name and not a quilty gun
I’ve got at TM scar H, had it over two years. Yes it costed a lot but you don’t need to go crazy with 1000 pound upgrades. I’ve got a spring change to 330, spring Guide and nozzle, with a ZCI barrel and maple leaf or g&g green to go in soon, it runs like a rolls-Royce. Only had them infamous tm lock ups twice, you just have to do full trigger pulls no spamming stuff.
I have an ASG AUG and recently started to use a 20C 11.1v and have gotten much better performance from it (before the piston decided to give up on life, don't know if was because of the much higher fire rate or it was just a coincidence since it is a few years old and still has stock internals)
I'm thinking that even when the "recoil" is backwards in most of these, if not all, at least with a system that allows a Titan, Perun or any other ETU that has precocking, you can actually get it as right as it can be, firing first then recoiling, as a GBB or real gun would.
Why does everyone assume you need to replace every part on a tm recoil to upgrade their power? We run a shit load of tm recoils over 400fps on just metal bushings, high torque motor, spring and spring shs/Zci gears with zero issues.
I have a TM 416, bolt sopmod long barrel keymod version and KWA magpul pts and the best external finish is the TM the best recoil is the bolt but fit and finish is rubbish but I think the best overall is the KWA pts as long as you change hop up rubber.
Have you worked on the BOLT AKM..? Waiting for months now for a pre upgraded flat hopped one, still not here.. it looked amazing (had one DOA) not much to see online about it
I always though its electricity. Electricity makes things warm. I dont excede 30a. I will also try to get 30a but if it's double tapping and locking up, then ill go down l the list until in find that sweet spot and eventually upgrade my spring and short storke or simply activate ab if i have it. In full auto, it diesnt matter as much since the piston is just going to keep reciprocating nonstop until you let go of the trigger
Hey Luke I always enjoy the videos. There always a good laugh and if you pay attention you might learn something. I wanted to ask you I have a specna arms edge with pdw stock. Would you happen to know what buffer tubes fit it? I would like to ditch pdw stock for more battery space. Thanks
Normal m4 stock tube fits, swapped one for a friend recently. They use standard specna m4 lower from what I can tell, holding them side by side. Can't guarantee but I'm pretty sure that's the case
Bolt hit harder then TM yea and many other things =) but so far im loyal to my TM 417 recoil and it keep's running for me as it also fit the FPS / Joule rules we have on our field Good we have More then one brand !!! i love any airsoft but TM as i started with them they stay a bit to hearth
Love your content! Great music, hilarious commentary. I have the bolt ak74 and it stopped working, making a fucked up grinding noise but if I hold the bolt open it will shoot like a normal aeg. Any suggestions?
Hi Hi. It is I again asking questions. I am an HPA Kythera kinda person for my standard rifle (which is a DMR, SR-25K, I live in Turkey our power limits are wildly different than the UK and all fields differ so the HPA quick adjustment is too helpful to give up, especially because some fields allow DMRs utpo 500FPS .2 equivalent joules.) I kinda want to try an EBB, ideally a BOLT because I love tinkering with my airsoft replicas. How hard/easy is it to work on BOLTs? (I will probably get the SR47 replica because its pretty.)
@NegativeAirsoftTech Dang that sucks. I just want something with some sort of recoil response. Maybe i just need to become what I hate and get an AR-15 equivalent. GBBR I mean.
I'm not going to nerd it up too much: Volts, Discharge Rate(C rating), Capacity (mAH). Pick two, and pick the right two because if you ask too much from your battery and it has a low c rating, you'll get a fire. Ask too much and you have a low capacity, you'll run out of juice early and often. Ask too much and you have a low voltage, and you'll have dog but performance. I know which i'd choose.
(hint: the safe two are volts, c rating.) Capacity can be fixed by buying multiple batteries, and having higher c rating doesn't hurt anything. it's a capacity property: the ability to supply more current. not the absolute effect. your motor will only draw what amperage it needs. "dropping Cs" should have no positive effect in a properly setup gearbox as far as I know. I'd suggest dropping Volts or changing the motor to a more appropriate torque/speed in the case of malfunction.
Last thing I'll say is it's also important to note that it's not always clear what you're buying. A lot of manufacturers (I'd imagine, not like I've vetted every single one.) are likely advertising "PEAK" C rating, and not "Continuous" C Rating. (Continuous draw, versus peak draw) It's important to realize that for example, a semi-locked DMR shouldn't need to worry about continuous draws as much as a full auto user may, unless they play like a wanker! I personally don't know of any li-po/li-ion pack that can truly discharge at 30C continuously, this is likely a peak number when you see it.
Because most 'am teks' will only touch a standard V2 set up or a V3 if it's in an AK... I opted to broaden my horizons rather than act all Bert Big Bollocks and only do an M4...
@@NegativeAirsoftTech I wouldn't call myself a tech but I became the go to guy in my group to fettle stuff and got the results people were expecting....only things I was apprehensive about were STAR (at the time) poly gearbox with Siamese hop units and V7s....Bolts look like a slight refinement on the Modify Tremors conversion which I think was reverse engineered from the Marui patent images decades ago.
Started out if Nuprol, then bought an ICS, then G&G, then wanted a recoil and bought a TM, wanted stronger recoil and a M16, bought a BOLT, wanted zero recoil and better accuracy and a almost zero maintenance gun, bought a HPA Wolverine MTW...wanted gas rifle for real steel feel/look and very strong recoil...bought WE AK74UN and it will be working on it after every game to make sure it lasts....Moral is....I don't care what gun is best, one of my cheapest guns has been upgraded a bit works great...just as much as the uber expensive HPA....but it's all as long as it makes me happy. (After Luke has fixed them for me of course....coz I break them so often)
recoil in aeg's is a cool concept but it puts wear on your gun meaning you have to check it every couple of months before you use it. with gbb, you kind of have to of have to learn how to take it apart much like real steel so you can clean it. A basic field strip is what tou need to know. I know how to clean and lubricate ar's and ak's. I clean them after range days. In airsoft id rather not have my aeg go down kn the middle of playing so i don't have to rent a gun. I mav only bring my sidearm and 1 other gun but if it goes down then that would ruin my day. Rentals are rentals and your $300 aeg witth a lambda bucking, prometheus purple, and gate nano hard is probably far better.
TM recoils only take their own proprietary mags (aswell as the PTS ones) but the upside is the mags that fit in the gun ALWAYS feed. Yeah pretty much any stanag mag will fit in the BOLT but it will be a pure lottery whether or not they feed nicely. The TM hop unit is proprietary, but it’s so good, why would you ever want to change it? Aftermarket pistol grips do actually fit the TM recoil M4s, they will fit the 416/7 but you lose the ambi selector. In addition to the stop on empty function, the TM also has a moving mock bolt. To get a TM recoil shooting 340-350fps costs as little as £90. Fire support offer it on their website. The C rating of any battery is meaningless without the maH rating. It’s just a measure of how many amps you can draw from it or charge it with. The motor will pull as much current as it needs, so there’s no such thing as too much C, not enough will mean the battery will overheat and die, possibly catch fire.
@Omar20v Bolt is a popular brand is Asia and is the poster boy for EBBs here, its far from what you'd call obscure. Infact hilariously, most casuals here wouldn't know what an NGRS is, because Tokyo Marui has very little brand presence here. You would be hard-pressed to find any Tokyo Marui product in stock from most local stores, besides their GBB pistols, because Taiwanese and Chinese guns are infinitely more superior. They really aren't big here, where we don't have legal limits on how powerful we can make our guns. The only people who bother fielding them are oddball collectors who are fully aware how finicky their gun is, like myself.
@Omar20v Go ahead, it won't save you from the fact that Japan is only superior within the market is operating in. Its completely outclassed the moment it tries to compete with the international market. Its not like I've owned, and worked on, and worked with plenty of guns from all 3 regions, to know what I'm talking about. Who cares about first-hand experience anyway? Fanboyism ftw. BTW do you want me to toss you another canister of copium to help you keep laughing?
@Omar20v >Tokyo marui invented airsoft. Everybody else is catching up. People have already caught up and left them in the dust. TM just doesn't care, because they only care about their domestic market, which is large enough to sustain them all on it's own. This is isn't some random fact I decided to bring up, this is in relation how is from a mechanical standpoint. This isn't the 2000s anymore, the world's innovated, TM's stuck in their own bubble, and they don't care about anyone else outside that bubble. And good for them, but the moment they step out of that bubble, they're entering a league they struggle to compete in. >Im not "asian" or a blind fan. Im being neutral >To ME and many people, thats the ultimate boss move that ANY of the companys you mention CANT do and will not do. If they do, they will suffer financially and probably go bankrupt. Other companies don't do it, because its dumb. A company's objective is to make money. It is dumb, for you as an entity who's main objective is to make money, to avoid making money. Hence, why Taiwan caters to everyone, not just Taiwan, and that's why Taiwan's the mecca of airsoft and Japan's left in the dust. > I sold it because i switched to the GBLS platform(wich is in a league of its own) You know if you're trying to flex on me, you might wanna try not flexing with gun you don't own. Because considering you don't even know about the industry you're trying to seem knowledgeable about, I highly doubt you know what a GBLS was until you started googling it a while ago, or know that its a nightmarish piece of unproven tech, that will discourage any casual player from ever going near it, unless you just have unsupervised access to daddy's credit card in which case its really not gonna help with your ignorance either way. >Is just that the guy of this channel is very biased on what he says because its based on what he likes and not actual data and performance. Stock or not. Well this is more irony than I can process right now.
I think brand loyalty comes into play a lot too when even mentioning TM, too many people just see the logo and their immediate thought is “oh it be another blessing from thy lord himself, creator of thy Airsoft kingdom.” Without actually realising that nowadays you can get better for less if only you’re willing to look. They may have been market leaders at one point but there comes a time where producing products intended for the domestic market and having your stuff exported to different countries with far higher power limits means that you lose that monopoly. Am I going to pick an expensive £140 TM Glock 17 with a plastic slide, fake trades that are becoming increasingly more common to be removed by stores prior to sale, and mags/internals designed for duster gas and low pressures? Or am I going to pay £100 for a WE EU17 with a full metal slide that’s more durable, no trades but mags and internals that are designed to take the sport’s standard green gas without any significant issues? I know which one I went for in the end. TM are like the Apple of Airsoft… you’ve got primarily fanboys that live in denial because they don’t want to admit that there’s better out there if they’d only look and weren’t buying the name. But I suppose keeping it relevant to the video… eh, if I want recoil I’ll use gas. AEGs are better without adding extra vibrat- sorry, recoil 😂
Best quotes from the fanboys is the "MUH MAGIC HOPUP IS BETTER". Nevermind I had the hop-up for my T89 extensively modified just so it could carry something heavier than .25s, or that the buckings of TM hop-ups are so soft, there's barely any resistance when I lightly pinch it, or that the nub barely protrudes enough to give decent surface contact on the BB. As much as I love TM for some of the rare guns they've put out, I know full well that my $450 TM gun's going to be outclassed by a $150-200 starter made in China ootb.
I’ve had a TM SR-16 for years now and it’s been great. Oh hang on. The upper and lower receivers are aftermarket metal ones. But it’s mostly TM. Apart from the gearbox which I changed. Half TM I suppose. Ahh the hop up and inner barrel are both upgraded. Not so much a TM anymore. Well, the stock and hand guard are TM! 😆
Being a Airsoft tech isent always easy 😄 But what you say bout TM is true they cost more and all But i love my TM 417 recoil and gonna hate the day i need to fix that but as i do all i can to keep it 100% i have had no problem with it... But i will never make it a HPA Fu** no 🤣😂🤣
Recoil does not make an AEG shoot slower. Recoil adds zero load to a piston during its forward travel, and the rearward load on the piston is essentially negligible since the system already has inertia built up. Also TM recoils can be the most accurate systems in the entire industry. So the whole recoil = inaccuracy claim is false. TM Recoils are not designed to break, that is a ridiculous claim. I almost strictly build recoil shocks here in the US. They can easily push 3 joules on the stock shell, the shells simply don’t break. Luckily SHS makes excellent parts for these so the upgrade investment is not as drastic as it was with prommy stuff, which is trash anyway. A well built TM will outlive a bolt 5 times over if the mechanic is worth his salt.
@@NegativeAirsoftTech You spew loads of false crap in every video you make. Every single one. You have no understanding of physics, which your claims make blatantly apparent. The TM system is not an “elitist system” - that is asinine. You spend a bit more money on something that is functionally 10x better. You’ll eventually get there keep it up.
@@NegativeAirsoftTech I guess thats what I was thinking about lol anyways try out the angle custom sorbo pads they're a bit stiffer than other sorbos they work well with aoe
the thing people forget about the TM Recoils, is that they came first. and their local japan price hasnt changed. the strength of JPY and import costs is why theyre ~£400 now. they cost ~£250 originally. Bolts early on, as you've admitted were shite. KWA is a moot point to compare, the hop unit is ass, and you cannot get them in the UK reliably. This video for new techs who dont understand it properly, is criminally underrated! This would of been so useful to know when i got started. There are too many snake oil videos out there.
I have a 10 year old bolt m4. Upgraded it a few months ago not becuase I had to, because I wanted too. Love it to peices
I had a guy with a 50c discharge 11.1v turn up with a UA krytac & the motor had melted...
Luke . Ive started using leather sink washers for aoe for the reasons you stated . They are tough and dont compress like airpads but dampen the shock. The leather also holds up very very well.
I used a piece of leather as a pad to protect a glock blowback unit and hammer, worked nicely
Luke your giving away all your secrets. Ive only meet 1 other tech that will bevel their gears / rack ... its amazing what a difference a few mins of polishing can do.
Yup
Luke! Have you seen the new ASG ultimate cylinder heads? May be a great part for bolts- they no longer have the two o ring and pad, it’s just one big ass pad that provides the air seal and piston cushion- check them out, could be really good
Been out for ages, just rebranded now
@@NegativeAirsoftTech I shoulda known… any negative experiences with them if any experience?
Would a upgraded motor help with the lock ups from happening?
@@knightairsoftwarrior not sure I still have the stock motor
Great video for sure. Definitely help with someone who knows what they are talking about explaining.

So much information in one video 👍
I like the maxx air nozzle as they are measured in mm to get a good fit in your aeg
Luke you are doing gods work.
Love your vids!
Maybe I've missed it, but on a round motor shaft, can you grind in a small flat for the bevel grub screw?
Thanks for the content 👍🏻
Ive had 1 maybe 2 boxs where to get proper aoe i had to remove maybe 1/3 of that second tooth. Other wise i only had maybe 60% contact on the pick up.
I have an ASG AUG and recently started to use a 20C 11.1v and have gotten much better performance from it (before the piston decided to give up on life, don't know if was because of the much higher fire rate or it was just a coincidence since it is a few years old and still has stock internals)
50:00 thank you very much good sir
I'm thinking that even when the "recoil" is backwards in most of these, if not all, at least with a system that allows a Titan, Perun or any other ETU that has precocking, you can actually get it as right as it can be, firing first then recoiling, as a GBB or real gun would.
I have both, BOLT BRSS and TM NGRS, I can say that BOLT kicks much harder and the FPS is far greater
Why does everyone assume you need to replace every part on a tm recoil to upgrade their power? We run a shit load of tm recoils over 400fps on just metal bushings, high torque motor, spring and spring shs/Zci gears with zero issues.
What parts did you install for power upgrades trying to save money when upgrading one
Can't guarantee but I'm pretty sure that's the case

luke can you make video about that chrono what you using and how to program with functions... that device very usefull on field
Is that a metal ARL latch?!...I needs it! Have a few plastic ones but the always end up stretching out / not hold well anymore.
I do a CYMA for all my "toys" and upgrade the hell out of it, unless Cyma doesn't carry the model I want.
Trying to watch this on headset with one ear off, I heard "Ive done a hell of alot of E's" and thought Ahh, Explains alot lol

Love your content! Great music, hilarious commentary. I have the bolt ak74 and it stopped working, making a fucked up grinding noise but if I hold the bolt open it will shoot like a normal aeg. Any suggestions?
Figured it out mate?
Does bolt m4 have a bolt lock future like the ngrs when it is shot on last round?
Het neg thx for the free content fuck i love IT
@@vulpix9210 I no longer work on them as the quality has dropped hard to the point they're basically broken after on game
But why/how does Negative Airsoft get so many Bolts to work on?
Because most 'am teks' will only touch a standard V2 set up or a V3 if it's in an AK...
I opted to broaden my horizons rather than act all Bert Big Bollocks and only do an M4...
@@NegativeAirsoftTech I wouldn't call myself a tech but I became the go to guy in my group to fettle stuff and got the results people were expecting....only things I was apprehensive about were STAR (at the time) poly gearbox with Siamese hop units and V7s....Bolts look like a slight refinement on the Modify Tremors conversion which I think was reverse engineered from the Marui patent images decades ago.
great video !
What’s the difference between the Kwa rm4/pts Cm4 and the bolt or tm recoil guns?
Being the owner of multiple BOLT aegs and TM recoils I could not agree more. Personally I stick to BOLT now. More bang for your buck, literally.
Hey, so you'd say definitively that BOLTs have more "recoil"?
Adding to this, what do you think about the kwa rm4?
So can you put any aeg upper on a bolt lower?
Good to have options.
Insert bumming of family members joke here
@@NegativeAirsoftTech Everyone loves a good bumming.....
recoil in aeg's is a cool concept but it puts wear on your gun meaning you have to check it every couple of months before you use it. with gbb, you kind of have to of have to learn how to take it apart much like real steel so you can clean it.
Im being neutral
>To ME and many people, thats the ultimate boss move that ANY of the companys you mention CANT do and will not do.
> I sold it because i switched to the GBLS platform(wich is in a league of its own)
You know if you're trying to flex on me, you might wanna try not flexing with gun you don't own.
How would the recoil behave on fully pre cocked piston? Better or worse?
I've totally given up on bolt sadly, they're fine with very regular & deep maintenance but for the average player, they suck
How do you keep your trigger in place when putting the gearbox casing back on?????

Wedding ring to big???... looks like in most videos it's slid up to your lower ring finger "knuckle". Mine has "molded" to my finger abit lower
You've just just spouted a whole load of crap.
Well done.
@@NegativeAirsoftTech You spew loads of false crap in every video you make. Every single one. You have no understanding of physics, which your claims make blatantly apparent. the thing people forget about the TM Recoils, is that they came first. and their local japan price hasnt changed. the strength of JPY and import costs is why theyre ~£400 now. they cost ~£250 originally.
Bolts early on, as you've admitted were shite.
KWA is a moot point to compare, the hop unit is ass, and you cannot get them in the UK reliably.

I personally don’t think TM is good as ppl think they are honestly I’m not saying there shit but there not worth hundreds more than other guns. I think it’s funny when I’m at my site and people see my Gbbr they say how nice it looks and how awesome it shoots then the ?
