    In this Airsoft [TUTORIAL] we learn how set a proper Angle of Engagement (AOE) between the sector gear and the piston in an Airsoft AEG.
    The Angle of Engagement is key in achieving a reliable shooting cycle, especially in fast trigger and DSG configurations, but really any gearbox will benefit from this easy and cheap mod!

    This was extremely helpful for me. I thank you for posting this. Even three years have past and this was the best explanation and instruction I could find. Again, thank you.

    I watched this about a year back, and whenever I run into a probelem, I go straight to this channel. Great video production quality, lighting, advice, and best of all, accent. You should be having a lot more subs.

    Finally! It seems at long last I have found a good quality teching video. All the other subpar aoe tuturials I've tried deciphering earlier are too lengthly and boring. This one on the other hand is simply excellent; I definitely appreciate the brevity, 1080p, and good lighting.

    I agree 100 % with the first parte (the rubber part), but not with the second one considering the *very high* load of duty the piston head is exposed.

    For the spacer between the piston and piston head I really raccomend to ask a lathe machinist to make a spacer from plastic or aluminium. The centre hole must be with the exact diameter of the piston head back protrusion to avoid any possible movement. Also the use of threadlock is required to avoid the loosening of the screw specially if it's a high rof configuration. With this system I were able to operate AEGs at extremely high rate of fire without the risk of piston break or gear re-engagement.
    Anyway nice video ;)

      Hi Live1509! Sure, that'd be a good way to improve the overall quality of the work! ;-)
      Yes, I've been able to run DGS high ROF configurations without any issue as well, of course in those kind of work any little extra attention makes the difference.

    It's great but that way you lose air volume in the cylinder. It's especially detrimental for dmr builds.

    Good explenation. Only one mistake; you don't put anyithing on the psiton what makes it heavier. Always try toi achieve a light piston as possible.

    • @CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR
      @CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR  7 лет назад +3

      Yes but this wasn't an high speed build, I agree if you're trying to achieve fast ROFs.

      I'm trying to make a faster semi-auto build should I be looking to lighten then piston then and if so how. Also subbed for your badger tutorials amazing stuff man!

    • @CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR
      @CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR  7 лет назад

      Hi Mark, thanks a lot bud! Well it all depends how much faster, you can drill some holes in the piston to make it lighter, pretty easy with a Dremel tool, doing so will slightly help avoiding premature reengagements but it usually happens just in extremely high speed builds.
      There are aftermarket lighter "high speed" pistons as well, I usually get those no matter what, SHS are great.

    • @skillfulmmd
      @skillfulmmd 7 лет назад

      Not a problem at all I will take a look.
      I am looking to get as fast a response time as possible I have already dropped in an SHS high speed motor and got a SHS 13 teeth piston which I am yet to fit what else can I do to get this firing fast?

    0:22 Sorry.... that's exactly how an involute gear is supposed to work.... Arguing that having the rack and gear tooth smash flat together somehow being better completely falls apart when you realise that the rack and gear.... move! That angle is gone as soon as the first took starts to pick up the rack. I'd like to see a genuine comparison between the long term durability of performing this modification and not..... general consensus online seems to favour NOT bothering with aoe correction

    Do you think AOE correction is essential job or not?
    In my case, I don`t experience any issue without AOE correction.
    I have both AEGs, which AOE corrected AEGs and not corrected AEGs.

    • @CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR
      @CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR  7 лет назад +3

      Hi Chris! Definitely not essential, you AEG will cycle just fine without AOE correction but it's about achieving the most reliable configuration, diminishing the probability of a malfunction or even worse the breaking of internals.
      Same thing with bevel-to-pinion shimming, which is the absolute first thing to do in an electric gun, not necessary at all for it to cycle, but makes huge improvements in the overall reliability and performances of the ASG.

    Great video!! I have a question, don't you think that the space between metal washer - piston head and piston creates possibilities to inflect or break the screw that holds the piston head because of the too much stress ?

    • @CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR
      @CHUPACABRAOUTDOOR  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Kyrver, thanks a lot! Never happened to me, done it plenty of times even with customers guns, I don't think so as long as the screw is well tightened possibly with thread lock.

      Any V2 cylinder should fit, Lonex does great cylinders IMO you should just check the length of your inner barrel and get the corresponding cylinder
