They wrote, composed and arranged the song themself, which makes me wanna appreciate more. Everything they made feels personal, and that's what attracts more fans. We can feel they love what they're doing, and we love them for that. Skz jjanggg!
Knowing that they write compose produce 99% themselves with the beats too this sounds even more amazing that they did all that. So proud that they mixed theboom bap rap so nicely with their own touch and korean tradition too. The whole album is actually a no skip
I'm in the US (specifically California). I actually became a fan of young posse because their sound was similar to the rap style I grew up listening to! As a STAY, i'm very pleased with Walkin' On Water because the boom-bap was the music I'd been hearing since I was a child, so the HOP album is very nostalgic for me :D the outfits didn't bother me because I saw it as more like, "we are going back to boom-bap, but we are still in 2024, so we're trying to use history to move forward". their clothing for this comeback is still very baggy compared to previous title tracks, so I think this was their way of honoring the genre. the HIP version is my favorite because it leans more into the boom-bap you discussed, so I think you might also like it more, too!
I'm not Korean so thanks for the subs. Never listened to kpop before chancing upon stray kids earlier this year. Your reaction is on point! I didn't expect to like this comeback but i was so wrong though i love the hip version a tad more than the original. Loved the instrumentation and the concept of boom bap fusion on WOW. It's like a whole new genre SKZ flavored. I also loved that WOW isnt all synth.
They definitely sound like 90’s hip hop and I’m here for it! Im glad they didn’t dress like 90’s hip hop rappers cuz it would’ve felt more copy and paste. This is the hip hop sound but with stray kids/Korean flare.
I agree. I don't understand why people want it to be a tribute to hip hop by dressing up like it was back in the day or including bboy moves in the choreography. It's a Stray Kids track with a strong influence from a musical genre they've always loved and already included in several of their tracks before.
I'm sorry if I missed it in your list of reactions, but you might be interested to know that Stray Kids have brought in boom-bap before with "Muddy Water" and drill with "3Racha". Evrn if you don't do it for your channel, you might want to listen to the songs for yourself. Personally, I love the new album. The group songs remind me of a lot of 90s music I grew up with (plus we finally got the collab with Tablo!) and it's so good to hear the solos in their full glory. I'd be really curious what you think of the Walkin On Water remix, too. Thank you so much for your reaction and appreciation!
It just could be that because there are only lyric vids or concert footage [no MV], many folks don't realize they have done these genres before.. and well.. I am very interested in anything SKZ does lol.. WonW remix flow was very much Detroit flav funkadelic w/west coast seasoning.. tasty 🖖🏼mm maybe I'm just hungry.. 😁
@Resistance_Is_Futile1of3 yes! And thank you for pinpointing the influences for the remix! One of the things I love about Hop is how many discussions I'm seeing in the comments about hip hop and rap history and how much it's reminding me of/teaching me about interconnections in music I grew up with. And now we're getting new remixes on Monday? I wonder what they'll pull out for those 🤔
@@heatherharvey2558 The drum beats makes my Cali girl/Dr. Dre heart beat even faster. One reactor threw out the G Clinton/Parliament, etc.. Gurl I was ready to get out my roller skates and start rexing.. looking forward to the new stuff already.. 🖖🏽😁
The fact that you mention Naughty by Nature and Wu-Tang Clan is significant because, as a 90s kid, I have nostalgia for Run-DMC, Wu-Tang Clan, and the Beastie Boys. And how revolutionary it was back then when Run-DMC ft. Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" came out-I mean, hip hop with rock?! Stray Kids' "Bounce Back," mixing hip hop and rock, made me applaud.
Thank you so much for your reaction, there are some things I could understand and appreciate more about the song thanks to your explanation, Stray kids are the best to me, amazing!!! 🤩🤩🤩 About the outfits, yeah, they probably wanted to give off the modern vibe with that too and also they having deals with some brands needed to be taken in consideration ❤

Wow 리액션 감사합니당 😊 스키즈는 매앨범마다 intro라고 하는 작업 비하인드 영상이 컴백 전날 올라와요 팬들이 가장 사랑하는 콘텐츠 중 하나이기도 해요

Their song "Bounce Back" on this album really reminds me of Beastie Boys
훨씬 더 힙합적인 버전인 'Walking on water (Hip ver.)' 들어보세용
Bounce back 도 들어보시고 리액션해주세요!!!👍

진짜 미쳤어 노래 완전 씐나
스트레이키즈 Walkin on Water 리액션 감사합니당(꾸벅)🤗
Thank you for subs ❤
