this video is so nice I uploaded it twice. a bunch of you let me know this video didn't hit your feeds so let's give it another shot. let me know if you saw this one!
I'm a happy owner of a Fuji X100 I bought a few month ago, and so far I can tell that the look of the images coming out of it (even the JPEGs) is out of this world, it's completely different from otehr digital cameras that I own. The closest is the Nikon D60, but it's still not quite the same thing. My main camera is an X-T2, and there is no argue there, it's a way better camera, but I find myself coming back to the X100 just for the experience and the clunkiness of it. I even disabled the rear screen and image review, and only shoot with the OVF it really like having a digital film camera
I had one around 2012, I was so enamored by it and just had to have one. Theyve been my favorite cameras ever since. Just bought an original x100 for the second time, today.
I have my late dad’s OG X100, in limited edition black paint (only 10,000 were made). It’s really fun. I shoot it only with the OVF and no rear display on - often at f/8. I only shoot it in monochrome with a 20% cinebloom filter. Kind of a poor man’s Monochrom, but I think of my dad often when I shoot it. I sell off a lot of cameras, but this was my old man’s - so we won’t part.
just watching this now. im so obsessed with old digital cameras. old sensors are amazing. I did a family photoshoot with a D100. Gave my daughter my Nikon D40 which has one of the best crop sensors ever made. I keep a D700 handy cus its such a beautiful image. even my daily carry is a D610 from 2014. cost wise older digital bodies have handily replaced my film needs for now cus it;s just cheaper and honestly as I get older that instant feedback is nicely rewarding. love the sentiment and the pictures in this video =)
Man, it’s content like this that really lights something up in me and makes me want to really get into photography. Do you offer courses of any kind? Maybe you know f someone who does that can help me get to your level.
I'm Batman! You wanna talk about me? Absolutely gorgeous video. And the music! I don't listen to that kind of music (only extreme metal), but this kind of tracks has a real effect, it just puts in the mood of the video, perfect choice. To be honest your videos are really inspiring. I appreciate the lighting a lot, especially on the talking heads. That's what I have in mind because I want to step in this """filmmaking""" train but have no real video skills even if I'm in photography. When I see your lighting I'm like "that's what I want to do, it's alive, not sterile like many other RUclipsrs." I know I'm gonna enjoy every single video of yours. Keep inspiring us.
definitely a beautiful experience and more amazing results. the "slowing down" bit I noticed it's effects the most while using film simulations on my fuji x100v, it just takes a couple of seconds to process; which gives me more time to think and work to take better photos

PT!! Always inspirational! Did you time travel back and forth to bring us your amazing content??!! 😉 I have a degree in photo and graduated in 97. Bridging film and digital. Was an amazing time! Fuji has remained my fav in both digital and film. Used to always shoot on Fuji chrome film (slide film) and do a lot of cross processing (look it up) for some wild color palettes. Keep on bro! This is my favorite channel for all things photo, film & lighting!
I just found your channel and it’s great! I love this look to the vid. Your piece to camera bits did you use the filmbox plugin like your earlier video? I want to do art tutorials with a 90’s feel and that look is killer.
I have to agree with you there Patrick, there's something 'different' about the older model of camera... like the Fujifilm X100s that started my journey into the Fujifilm ecosystem. I love it! 📷🥰
such a fucking sick shoot dude, props to both of u for such a dope set of images. got me inspired to use my x100 again & to cop myself some more vintage clothing like ma boy canoopsy aha
Do have a refurbisher you get your vintage electronics from or do you pick stuff up from thrift stores, etc? I'm fond of Retrospekt, I've ordered a handful of things from them, most recently a Polaroid Impulse AF from 1988. I've heard a few people have had problems with them but I've never run into any issues. Also, are those headphones those old Koss folding portawhatever headphones? I think I used to have a set like that when I was younger 😂
Oh wow you captured the old tech excitement sentiment perfectly. New gear is unparalleled in its excellence which can be kind of boring. Old tech is just straight up fun and inspiring. Loving these 90s vibes 🙌

How the hell did you do that slow shutter video effect? I assume a slow shutter and 24p then slowed in post so it looks choppy? Unreal man, you’re so creative. Epic track too
Srsly, what is up with the OG X100 getting so much shine on YT lately. I dont know why, but im so happy to see Fuji getting its due, i think Fuji is the next "it brand" and im so happy for them.
I’m sorry if I missed it, but besides shooting experience and a few creature comforts, would you say the original x100 images are that different from the x100t? I’ve read about folks preferring that original sensor but better autofocus and WiFi seem like worthy upgrades. Just curious.
you wouldn't be buying the original for the images - it's the experience. im honestly a believer that sensors dont really matter. even old ones. granted, I haven't shot with the T in over a year, but the original is lower res and doesn't use X trans so it will provide something different.
I don’t think sharing settings is productive because it focuses on the wrong aspect of what makes good images. It’s not settings. I leave everything in auto.
I have 4 original X100 . I bought all on ebay in excellent condition. The last 2 i paid $260 & $275 for. Almost a hundred less than the first 2 i bought. People are giving them away. Also bought the S for 365 but the pics are not the same
