I really like Assos. Recently, my Johdah zipper failed. I never liked that double zipper design, the bottom zipper would stick sometimes. Anyway, Assos exchanged my Johdah jacket for the new one, the S9 Targa Johdah jacket. I love it and it only has one main zipper now.
I'm so envious of your bike path, it looks like a great ride.

That’s terrific customer service. Assos is awesome! Thanks for the complement. It is a beautiful area to enjoy.

Hi Mitch! Your reviews are great and by far are some of the best when it comes to Assos and Specialized gear!!! When you have time, would you mind posting your recommended jacket, base layer and tights/bibs combinations for harder efforts between 0-15 degrees C with regard to the following pieces: johdah jacket, Habu jacket, Equipe RS spring/fall jacket, Equipe RS winter tights, Equipe RS spring/fall tights, Equipe R Habu winter tights? Recognize that no one combination will cover that full range of temps but would be good to know perhaps in increments of 5 degrees, what you’d likely be wearing.
Apropos to my question above, the challenge for many of us is knowing whether a Jodah is versatile enough to wear between 10-15 degrees so long as you have the appropriate base layer or if you’d likely burn up with any base layer once you were riding at Z3+ longer intervals. Another question would be are the Habu R and RS fall/spring jackets duplicative, and if not, down or up to which temperatures would you use one vs the other? Same goes for tights…down or up to which temps would use the Equipe RS (or Habu R) winter vs spring/fall tights?
    Thanks so much,
    Blake

I could honestly do an entire video on this... On Monday I have a "what would I buy first" type vlog on fall gear where I touch on some of this. But the Fall/Winter Cross over is huge, especially when you start working hard on the bike. It's tough to give a specific range of temps, because some people enjoy a casual pace and need warmer gear, while someone else will be working hard and want cooler gear. Personally, the 10-15C range is Equipe Fall Gear territory with a few different base layers without a question.

Thanks, Mitch. Totally understand. Assos really should have a table that lists all their winter and spring/fall apparel and what temperature range they’d recommend for each depending on the base layer used.
Very much looking forward to you upcoming video re spring and fall apparel. If you’d also consider doing one for winter, too, it would serve as a great resource for those of us building our multi season cycling kit wardrobes. Would also be helpful to hear how you layer for days which begin at 3-4 C and end closer to 10-12 C.
      Very much appreciated!

I will use the front pocket for Assos Liner gloves or Assos Spring gloves, normally in winter I bring two pairs of gloves because at 9 am could be 3ºC and at 2 pm 16ºC and I change gloves

Nice jacket, Fish Creek road didn't deliver this week.

Sometimes you don’t get either cut off, or pushed off the road. Maybe next week.

How is the breathability of this one compared to the johdah ?

More breathable, but not as warm as the Johdah. Think of this as a spring+ type jacket, or a winter minus.
