I feel Echo felt devastated about being the only surviving member of domino squad, but also relieved that his squad members at least got quick deaths and did not have to suffer the inferno that he suffered.
When I last spoke to echo he told me that he was proud to serve in Domino squad but definitely did feel bad that he was the only surviving member. That's coming from the source himself.
I would not want to go through more emotional damage than I already have from Clone Wars and Bad Batch I'm also really sure that Echo knew Fives died the moment when he didn't notice him anywhere, keeping it together and when he had a moment for himself, he had a breakdown realizing his brother died.
Like Fives, Echo is one of my favorite Clones. It's just a shame his buddy went out so tragically, but part of me feels Echo would be glad that Fives didn't suffer the same treatment he did
Yeah… every time a major clone would die in the show, I’d be devastated, but also a little relieved that he wouldn’t turn in Order 66. Especially Waxer and Fives. It would have torn them apart…
Echo was always my favorite Domino Squad clone. As a kid, seeing his “death” at the Citadel crushed me, and hearing about what possibly happened before Rex and the Bad Batch found him just makes him even more pitiable.
Echo is my favorite clone trooper when i seen his supposed death on live tv i was so angry sad and hurt but when he was later brought back i was so happy and filled with joy
Maybe the implants are the reason why echo wasn’t more excited or emotional when he saw Rex and when they didn’t even talk much about the times compared to old when Rex was seen in the bad batch.
@@smeagol-bp3wr i'm working on a story where Echo gets caught in a time loop shortly after the events of Skako Minor, where he's forced to repeat the events of the Citadel in an never-ending attempt to save Fives from his future demise. Sounds very happy lol
I think I read somewhere that the significant modifications made to Echo's brain likely took out the inhibitor chip, making him unable to execute Order 66. That may be a good thing, but the cost is so terrible that I think it counts as a net detriment to Echo.
It's so horrible what happened to him, but I still wish they'd explore it more in the bad batch. He arguably has the furthest to go in character development by going back and examining these events, but it feels like he gets the least
I'd say they did use some anaesthetic, although they definitely minimized the dosage & application whenever possible. It's entirely possible to die on the operating table due to the intense shock from sheer unbearable pain after all. Although Echo would definitely wish that he could just kick the bucket like that, his torturers would definitely find his death inconvenient.
@@FalconWindblader He does look paler then the average clone trooper. Could be that he was without sunlight for over a year or perhaps he really did die and the machinery in his body is only keeping his brain and a few of his vital organs alive. I'm not saying that he's a corpse because his skin would be rotting, more like a vampire. He's skirting the line between life and death, only kept alive by whatever electronics the CIS put in him. And I do believe someone could survive being operated on without being put under. During the American Civil War, the type of bullets that were used were heavy and traveled at low velocities. This means that bones were crushed and shattered. Often the only thing that doctors could do to save a wounded soldier was to cut off whatever limb was hit. Its certainly possible that the pain of having an arm or a leg sawn off was fatal but some people survived (Unless the infection got them, instruments weren't sterilized and were used on multiple patients. Doctors also didn't wear any of the gear they use now, they'd even probe the wound without gloves while searching for the bullet.)
Echo was caught in an massive explosion, though his left arm and upper torso were slightly more protected by the shield he'd been holding at the time. But some of the explosion came from behind, so pretty much what's left that's still human is about all they really had left to work with. I'm sure his legs , hips and right arm were burnt beyond recovery. I'm sure they just cut all that off and worked on him without anesthesia, considering him less then human. There is no amount of training that would've made him able to endure the level of pain he went thru. People pass out after a certain point of unrelenting pain; hIs memory has probably just mercifully has blacked all that out .There is a real history situation of war time human experimentation: it was called Camp 731 during WW2 and was a human experimentation lab located in an old factory operated by the Japanese scientists who performed gruesome experiments on American POW"s and Chinese civilians such as live vivisection & amputations, removals of organs, starvation, injections with biological weapons and worse all without anesthesia. These WW2 Japanese scientists called their test subjects "logs" as they did not consider them human beings even as the Techno Union didn't regard Echo as a real person.
I'm sure the answers mainly they weren't written yet/they were busy but this just made me think "why didn't the republic send the bad batch to the citadel"? Why did they choose to send a few basic clone troopers and arc troopers along with jedi over any other commando squad to the place LITERALLY MEANT TO BREAK JEDI?
Can’t help but notice that there are a lot of videos with ‘Dark Truth’ in the title. Awesome video as always. (BTW you did clickbait me with that image of the Ssi-ruu).
That would be tantamount to wanting to torture him further. Nobody would like to remember the kind of shit he went through back then, & i'd say that he'd rather forget all of it if it's possible to pull off such a thing.
Echo boring interrogators to death by reciting the reg manual is hilarious, but I doubt the CIS would've been able to interrogate him at all -- he probably wouldn't have survived. It's somewhat more merciful to imagine they went directly to Wat Tambor. (Although oddly, Tambor said he bought Echo, so I'm not sure how the arrangement shook out.) If there's one bright side, it's that Echo doesn't seem to recall much between the Citadel and Skako Minor. Love your work, Geetsly!
I figured he would of gone insane like gregor through guilt of killing those he considered to be his brothers but what he went through was a fate worse than death
when echo "died" i was seriously surprised. i wasn't even sad at first because I didn't think they would kill off a character like him so abruptly. don't get me wrong I wasn't upset or angry or thought it was "bad writing" because reality is a lot of people die abruptly in life let alone war. after a day or two I did finally cry thinking he was dead and I seriously got depressed for him and 5's for some weeks. Then when 5s died I cried again and realized the meaning behind their name. i was so happy when dave filoni said echo was still alive when disney canceled the clone wars. and even happier seeing him in season 7 but I am still sad at the thought of 5's thinking his entire squad was dead and he was the only survivor especially when he died in rex's arms
Yeah, that is probably what happened. Also, while it's not a detailed video on the Citadel Rescue itself which I would have liked, the intro that covered that part was very good. Also, also, did someone tap into the power of the World Between Worlds to alter time, because this video is an hour past its usual release time. Man, I am too big a nerd because I actually pay attention to this stuff. LOL.
Makes sense, but this needs to be shown in some sort of film. Otherwise it feels like inserting lore as a way to justify bad writing. It feels like too much.

Yeah, from one of the first battles of the clone wars, to even after.

Bruh cut up got carried away by a giant worm fuck that

Agreed, they are both some of the most interesting clones and Echo probably was glad in some way that Fives didn't go through the same things!
Fives is absolutely my favourite Clone. There’s no question, but I love echo too.
Agreed. I think he's also relieved Fives didn't go through Order 66.

Fives and Echo are my absolute favourites. Your lore content is always fascinating and easy to follow. Great work!
Do you think that the Techno-Union operated on Echo without anesthetic? Good thing that Echo was an ARC-trooper or the pain would've killed him.

"Hello Mr Barnes. We're going to take your arm off."
"I think I just need help-"
"Give you cool robot arm..."

Almost all torture is ineffective and the victim will say anything regardless of truth to help it stop.

Captain Rex
Commander Wolfe
Commander Gree
ARC Fives
Denal
Echo All the way
Mine is Bacara and the entire Galactic Marines as a whole.
I'm an outlier, mine are Wrecker and Tech.
6:23 I miss his hand print and hopes it returns.
Little is said about the change in his skin color, most likely due to prolongued exposition to stasis fluids, but what do you think?
