- Today's hymn is "Fill Me Now".
You may notice a squeal or two in the background. I recorded this a bit later in the morning when everyone was up and at 'em and the two youngest were having quite a grand time playing. Hope it doesn't deter from the reverential tone of this hymn. It is a less familiar one to me, but it is a prayer we could all pray. That is the depth of many of the hymns that I appreciate. They aren't just repetitious words trying to get you into a feeling. You can read them, meditate on them, and hopefully apply them to your life to help you in your daily walk.
And, I didn't notice until I was adding the Subtitles that in the 3rd Refrain I accidentally sang "Jesus, come and fill me now". That's the tricky part of editing, making sure you sing the words right - and you can still miss things! Also, I copied the words from library.timelesstruths.org and noticed some spots were written differently than the hymnal I'm reading from. So, I'm copying the words from the hymnal I'm using; even though in this song, the refrain says "Holy Spirit, fill me now" from timelesstruths, so it focuses more on repeating the Holy Spirit's name, which seems more consistent with the verses; but I already recorded the song and didn't think the differences warranted re-recording it. I may fix that 3rd refrain if I make MP3's available or try putting these hymns as an album on say CD Baby; but we'll see. :-)
Lyrics:
Hover o’er me, Holy Spirit,
Bathe my trembling heart and brow;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O, come and fill me now.
[Refrain]
Fill me now, fill me now,
Jesus, come and fill me now;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O, come, and fill me now.
Thou canst fill me, gracious Spirit,
Though I cannot tell Thee how;
But I need Thee, greatly need Thee,
Come, O, come and fill me now.
I am weakness, full of weakness,
At Thy sacred feet I bow;
Blest, divine, eternal Spirit,
Fill with pow’r, and fill me now.
Cleanse and comfort, bless and save me,
Bathe, O, bathe my heart and brow;
Thou art comforting and saving,
Thou art sweetly filling now.

God bless you for singing hymns that are full of meaning, as you said, not just repetitive words to get only your feelings arised but not the spirit also. Yes, meditating on those words, letting them to bring fruit fit for repentance. We need the Holy Spirit outpouring to revive us. It's pure and nice to see the little ones full of joy and no care. God bless you all.

Thank you so much for sharing the Lords talents with us! I was singing this out of a hymnal making up or flowing? the musical parts because I do not read music. Curious what it was written to sound like I found your gift.
The timelessthruths hymnal is one of best records of hymns. on par with Hymnary in my opinion.
Amen
