    Great review brother! I literally walked into the dealership to buy a VTX 1800 in 2007 and walked out with a VTX 1300C. The 1300C is ALL you will ever need in every way. It’s a beast 💯
    I think about the salesman often that shot me straight and ‘down sold’ me the 1300. I ended up chroming a lot more of the bike and went with Vance & Hines Big Shot pipes and jetted carb. Still love the bike to this day and the only maintenance has been battery and oil changes 🤙🏻

    I ride the VTX 1800F and love it. For me it's all about power and knowing I have it when I need it. I am getting around 130 miles before fuel ups and I have been risking for work and around club rides. It seems more comfortable for two up and o dont need to worry when it comes to loading it up with gear. With my daily commutes to work it's taking me about two to three days before gasing it up and I don't ride the speed limit. Nice review, very cool to see a side by side on The 1300 and the 1800. For my next ride, I am looking for something bigger but don't plan on selling the 1800f. Thanks for putting this vid up. Cheers, Will

      Will Enser, I have an ‘07 1800F3 with a Power Commander III installed, and get roughly 120-130 miles per tank. One ride was 335 miles and I averaged 36mi/gallon and that was at freeway cruising speeds of 85-90mph most of the way.

    Very good review on diffence. When I first started riding a 650 and 750 were considered beast. I recently bought a vtx 1300. Your right, it has all the power you need. I also do a lot of long distance travel and you don't want to run low on fuel when the nearest gas station is a hundred miles away. I recently sold my yamaha Roadstar 1700. If you cruise like I do, you don't need to drag race other bikes. The 1700 was more then I needed and a lot heavier which does matter to older riders.

    Just got the 1800 for my first bike and I absolutely love it. Granted I don't have anything to really compare it to cause it's my first, but the 1800 handles and rides real nice, especially compared to the MSF bikes. The power on the 1800 on the highway is amazing. Still gotta work on low speed stuff but so far not bad at all. I love it.

      I picked the bike up a few weekends ago and it’s amazing! I live in Canada where there is still snow on the road so I don’t have a true representation of the ride and power, but doing laps of my driveway I can tell the bike has power for days! The one I settled on is a 2002 R model. It has 25,000 Kms on it (15,500 miles) cobra exhaust, saddle bags and nice windshield. Very happy with my purchase. I spent the better part of a full weekend tinkering in the bike and getting it all polished up and ready to ride. Good luck with your search!

    Great review man - I was debating the 1800 and the guy told me he thought the 1300 was a better riding bike for someone with my experience. Love it! Some guys have said the 1800 is more top heavy and less manoeuvrable (which I would expect from a much larger bike but based on your review you found the 1800 rides fine.

    Awsome comparison and "review"; test rode both and have owned the beast type power in (Yamaha Roadliner similar to the 1800) this time the 1300 felt so spot on, the first test drive. Love the carburetor sound with vines exhaust. It's lighter with enough power for two up. Honda just does things right. Fourth bike in my garage. You can pick these up in 3k-4k some even with low miles.

    Hi all,
    I definitely agree with what's said about agility of the VTX 1300. I have a 2005 VTX 1300C. I weigh around 60# more than the gentleman making the video and my bike has no problem with speed and agility with my big behind riding her back. 😁
    I have no opinion of the 1800 since I've never owned one. And I'm surprised to hear that the 1300 has a bigger gas tank and better range than the 1800. I'm sure it's a beautiful bike and will do whatever you want it to do.
    For a multi-purpose cruiser style bike, ya can't beat the 1300. It's a great daily commuter and if it's setup right it would be a great distance bike.
    A note on safety (my opinion only). Both the 1300 and the 1800 are not good entry level bikes. Even though they're nimble, they're heavy bikes. So for a new rider with no experience, I would suggest they buy something smaller to ride for a while and get the experience; then upgrade to a bike like these.
    Anyway, good video and very informative. Thank you for making it.
    Have a great day everyone and see ya on the road.
    Stay safe.

    I would have loved to hear side by side exhaust comparison at the end. I think exhaust note is also a big selling point. I own the 1800c and, you're right, tons of power. Way more than you need. But, man it's fun. Open it up and before you can even think of looking at the speedometer, you're doing over 70. I rode a friend's 1300 and it's also quick, but nothing like the 1800. I also agree, I find the 1800 easier to maneuver. But, I think the 1300 exhaust sounds a lot better. It's got a more classic sound, but, 1800 still sounds nice. It's. A. Beast.

    • @priincedadon1813
      @priincedadon1813  4 года назад +1

      Also has a lot to do with the type of exhaust you put on the bike. I have V&H big shot on my 1800 and Delkavic on the 1300. Both sound great but my 1800 is a lil louder but it's really hard for me to say which is the best sounding because they both sound really good.

    I also have the 1300 and 1800. My 1800 the gas light comes on around 140 miles. And the 1300 has power but the 1800 is a beast. I ride the 1800 way more than the 1300. However the 1300 handles better in busy stop and go traffic

    What do you think the handling differences come down to? I just bought a 1300 last week upgraded from a shadow 750. My mechanic loves it. I questioned him about the difference between this and an 1800 and he said he likes the 1300 a lot more because the 1800 has more issues. He started to get a little technical on me but I think it had something to do with the bigger engine on basically the same size frame and probably had something to do with the fuel injection and the computer and oxygen sensors that comes along with that.

      First time I'm ever hearing that. I'm 5.9 and 245lbs and it's still a big bike. Have you looked into highway pegs for yours or resetting your stock shocks to maybe 4 or 5 position or just replacing both shocks to something better?

      I'm 6'4 240lbs the 1800 is nothing like a sportster on my 1800r the gas tank is so big cannot even see the ground not to mention I took my motorcycle test on a 1200sportster the weight handling completely differently Sportster is more of a beginner bike big VTX take some knowing what your doing it's nimble for a big hog but definitely not as nimble as a sportster 😉 and I'm super comfortable on it crash bars and highway pegs for long open ride s

    Nice video. If you don't mind me asking, which model 1800 you have? According to my research, it states that the 1800r supposed to have a 6.34 gal tank. I know the other models of the 1800c, f and s have smaller fuel tanks. I'm looking to ride the distance.

      My 1800r has a 5 gallon tank or bigger it's not really that bad on gas I filled up and rode over 8 hrs before I needed fuel and that was piping it up some times love the torque nothing like it a fourth the cost of a Harley better performance and reliability

    Is there more leg room and space in general on the 1800 or are they the same frame?...I'm 6'4 so I don't want to feel cramped

      They are just about the same. And if their are any size differences then it's not that noticeable (atleast to me)

    Hello brother. Good comparison video . i am looking at a vtx. 1800 today .. What type of saddle bags do you have on your 1800. If i were to give you any feedback it would be awesome to have them in the light where we cam reallysee the size difference. Only thing . That being said, great video.

    Would you say the 1300 is too powerful for a new rider.

    • @priincedadon1813
      @priincedadon1813  4 года назад +2

      For a female rider yes but as for a guy. It all depends on the guy himself. A smaller build guy may want a smaller bike especially being new. A bigger guy should be fine with the weight and power as long as he's not afraid of the bike.

      I got my vtx 1300 back in may 2019. Its my first bike. I'm 6'2 250lbs and its all i need! Its Not too powerful. The 1800 would be a bit heavy for a beginner. My dad has the 1800 and i learned on it the first few weeks. The weight at a stand still made me uncomfortable but once i got moving its fine. Im glad i didnt get anything smaller because you grow into the bike. i will say i look better on the 1800 because its a bigger (size) bike but thats just looks. Ill never trade my 1300!!! Good luck and be safe!!

    Hey I appreciate your videos man🤙🏽 I have a 2004 vtx 1300 I like the crash bar you have on the 1800, will that one fit the 1300? And also, is it possible to find a good fairing , that’ll fit as well? Amy recommendations?

    Are they both a good choice for tall riders or does the 1800 have longer leg room?

    • @priincedadon1813
      @priincedadon1813  2 года назад

      That's a really good question. Honestly it's hard to say because it's never been a thought for me. What I can say is.. im 5'9 and never had an issue with comfort as far as height goes and leg room.

    i sold my 1300 because i wanted a faster bike. That 1800 is a beast. I get 120 miles to a tank on my 1800 before the light comes on.
