I love it when John comes out to see, it’s either because the machine has broken down and it’s going to cost £ or he’s come out because the machine is fixed and it’s going to save £. John hope you’re managing lad, love from London :)
Well done, John Astley!!! Great to get a decent commentary of what you are doing. BTW I would replace that pressure gauge. They can go seriously out of calibration with the on-off shock of hydraulic operations. Just before you have another unplanned outage........ Looks like it has lost some glycol or similar which helps the gauge cope with the sudden shocks. Small item, maybe, but if it's not giving the real reading you could get in trouble due to the serious pressures you are working at. All down to preventive maintenance, worth it in the end.......Please do it!!!!
Well done John Astley, the fork lift IS running better then before, I'm sure. Looking at the essential equipment that has appeared over the months, it is not surprising that things go awry from time to time and , of course, it's sod's law that dictates where one goes wrong, another will follow. Smart thinking of James to get hold of a spare engine for the fork lift it will be a good reserve.
Dextrous as ever, Threeton demonstrates his skill with the baler. He really does make it look easy. So I'll offer a subs shout out for Nathan, in fact for all the guys, everyone is contributing so well and you have had quite a bit of rotten weather to contend with.

James you need to get a tyre cutter for the forklift. we have one for our forklifts it works brilliant. You can cut your own tread multiple times before needing new tires. Hope this helps 👍🏻
It's good to see the forklift and bayler back in action a lot less stressful in the yard this week. The bayler will be flat out now getting through all those cars. Have a great week, boys and zoe 👍
Yes gone from a disaster went week before to not to bad and getting everything fixed and next week catching up going to be a busy one !!
Hi John, James , forget the haters , do it for your people the ones that enjoy watching what you do. The fork lift is alive again and sounding good may not need to fit the new engine but it's good to have a back up, and the fork lift tyres are a bit thin, no problem just make new treads just use a soldering iron and melt some treads😁Good to see the bailer in use again and good to see Mr Astley keeping an eye on the running of the bailer or Nathan🤣 To be honest to have John there sorting out the fork lift and the bailer he is a god send. Yes got engine ready just in case that one goes bang but it sounds better than ever and after that scare we are keeping well on top on the daily checks ! And all will be revealed about Zoe’s comment 😁
Great vt everyone, that fork truck would have been ok if the oil was checked lol use daily fork truck check books we have to do them in work for health and safety reasons

Can you guys talk us through the process you have now put in place to avoid further forklift (and other equipment) issues. Every yard/depot I’ve ever worked out, no matter how small or how old the kit was, had MANDATORY daily pre start checks, tyres, fluids, lights etc, etc. asking for trouble if ya dont

I thought the big forklift was a 'refurbished ' one, it's been nothing but trouble, hydraulic pipes & now the engine, someone has definitely had your pants down

@@TheTorkerman might of but if wasn't dry on water or oil if a shell wants to go on a diesel it will anyway the engine could of done more hours then it said it's not hard to change the timer clock and it was meant to of been refurbished and they had not had it long

Th3 bottom line is that the vehicle functions in a confined area from which the general public are excluded. If it earns a pound for the next few weeks until further considered works can be carried out it has done what is necessary. It’s a battle in a war. Win the battle!

James there's literal footage of you driving the forklift with an intermittent oil pressure light coming on from just under 2 weeks ago! Operator Error!

@@BCB That's fair! Just with it blinking red intermittently and then a siezed engine not long after, you could see how 1+1 = oil pressure!

Did you find out how to raise the barrier if you have no power or the motor fails and when you do you need to train other staff up when you not on the Yard outon calls or Holiday.
All ways handy to have spare parts in a shelf ready for a swap out like the pickup lorry.
get some slick 50 in the forklift engine, it will protect it... great video lads, mechanics with no gloves, real men. you need to start guided tours of the yard...😃

Fork lift truck is down to driver at the time . Chris ...who knew it was the oil and even topped it up after it seized .

Id hate too think how much each piece of machinery costs you each day when it goes down. So sometimes you do what you need too do too get S--t going again. Unless youve got plenty of cash too invest in BCB then just buy merch too help them.
Yes that’s it the forklift was only down a day and a half that’s what costs us the money the down time not the repair bill if we had of waited a week for a engine swap etc it would of been more costly in downtime hence the quick repair we did which worked . We have got a spare engine ready for if it does ever go but it’s sounding better than ever and under inspection all internals looked mint

James, why do you need to ask us who's fault it was that the engine seized, it's obvious and you don't need Sherlock Holmes to work it out? Why would you ask three ton if he checked the oil on his last day before he had two weeks off, it was obviously sod all to do with him unless you only check fluids once a fortnight???
It was being driven by Chris when it seized and he topped it up with oil after it seized, why would someone do that if it wasn't their fault? Mystery solved and case closed!
