    I've had mine since 2017. It works great and has held up to very heavy use. I'm over 200 lbs., have over 20,000 miles on it, and it's still like new.

      Did you get the red spring or are you riding with stock spring? I'm thinking of getting one, but it says stock string is only rated for riders

    I bought mine about 5 years ago and rode it occasionally on a spare bike. It is a great upgrade for a bike frame that is smaller than you'd need. I use it on cheap hardtail and I'd recomend it to anyone who'd like a plushy ride.

    Ya everyone seems to really like this one. Mine’s on the way. I’m also switching to latex inner tubes and fast and lighter tires to more than make up for the added weight ( I hope ). Also bought handle bar stem suspension and got my hands on a perfect condition rare vintage old school triple touring crank (52t 😁 175mm) and a great vintage derailleur made for the triple 52. I do long rides can’t wait to try full suspension next season ( I’m in 🇨🇦 and don’t ride in the winter, too old for that ) and the big tooth chainring. Happy cycling everyone!!

    Mine just broke, lasted 8.5 months, less then 500 miles ridden. Everything got loose, kept pushing pins back in place but then top completely came off the post and then pins fell out too. I miss it already, bad roads...

      You should have a closer look, as there are fake ones out there.
      A normal version of this holds up over years with really hard abuse and thousands of miles, even when you’re a very heavy guy. I own two of them on two bikes. Non of them faild, got loose or anything. You just have to clean and grease it.

    Great video. Excellent description of the Suntour suspension system. I have one question regarding how easily removable the post is. Is the locking system removable by hand so a bike left unattended can have it's seat and post removed real quick? That's a fear as I leave my bike and go shopping a lot.

    • @brianrichard1768
      @brianrichard1768  10 месяцев назад

      Thank you. Ease of removal depends on the bike. Mine has a quick release type clamp that can be removed in seconds however some bikes require a wrench. If you bike is the type that requires a wrench, you could probably purchase a quick release type clamp from your local bike shop.

    How do you like your Serfas RX saddle? I'm looking for healthier or safer options to avoid nerve damage or suppression and that looks an interesting design since it's fully parted in the middle.
    Thank you.

      I like it, not the lightest but the split offers additional flex while still providing good support.

  • @gopedjim69
    @gopedjim69 Год назад +16

    As you said, the seatpost does move backward as it compresses downward. This design is used to keep the distance from the pedals constant as the seat compresses. This is useful when seated and pedaling hard. The seat may bob up and down but the distance to the pedals remains constant rather than awkwardly changing and interfering with a smooth cadence.

    • @brianrichard1768
      @brianrichard1768  Год назад
