I appreciate the seller hes honest he tells you whats wrong whats been done to it and instead of being a typical diesel owner up selling it he sold it for a great price i wish more sellers are like him because thats rare to me

Very difficult to do with Michigan trucks tho... alot more work... they don't call it the "rust belt" for nuthin.....
@@markwincek6547 yeah rust belt trucks are a different story but here in Montana where I live a lot of people send vehicles to the scrap yard instead of fixing them and it’s sad because a lot of the trucks here are in great condition
I think you should do a video on disassembling the engine and finding out what’s wrong. Could be a lot of good information for some folks in that and it would be interesting to see what’s wrong

I agree, this can be an issue with those pins on these and you’re good about explaining things. Your videos are always a ton of help.
I’m a lly owner! 245,000 miles and still going strong. I also have the edge cts3 monitor.
You have no choice but to go crazy on this build. You always do your best.
Swap in the good LB7, then you can do a few videos of tearing the old one down. Can rebuild the engine using lbz/lmm rods, delip the pistons, key/balance the crank, then do a giveaway for a mild built duramax short block. It will go along with the theme of reviving these trucks as I know many of your viewers have trucks they are restoring.

Get the cab and bed off to the bare frame, and blast that frame and treat it and i think you'll be fine. I can't wait for this build. ❤
Anyone else prefer the extended cab over the quad cab? I think it just looks more like a truck, just my opinion. Looking forward to the build.

Yes but honestly it also comes down what ur ising it for like if it's like ur family vehicle then yes a fullsize crew cab is best but if it's like ur work truck hauling truck etc that u don't use with family often hell even as single man or woman than yes an extended cab will work just fine but at the end of day it's ur preference I own a fullsize crew cab but that's just what I prefer
Regular cab is the best looking
Extended cab long box is the best looking duramax

I would try and revive the engine, but I'm not sure if that would be more work and money that just swapping it or not
The end of December! Thats a lot of work in a short amount of time. Its so cool seeing how you bring these trucks back to life.
It's more work and money, but it would be cool to fix the LLY thats in that truck seeing as you dont have one on the channel yet.

Just putting it out there, something I'd like to see as a little switch up for a build is focus a little less on performance and more on suspension and wheels and other cool custom stuff unlike the other builds where they're mostly just level and typical wheels. Just an opinion, love the content!!

Nah that’s what everyone does. Stick with the performance stuff, shows a lot of how to do things like that. Anyone can bolt on wheels and lift
Id do a complete off-road build built for power but unmatched in off-road capabilities putting jeeps and Hummers to shame
I’d put old engine in it just to get her rolling until then
But would be nice to see the details on inside of engine and what exactly might have went wrong with her

They are so cheap down here in the south and with no rust. That’s the best part. Just went and bought an 09 needing transmission runs great 205k paid 3500 for it. Bone stock

If you have the time and have it still done by the time line you set out. I think it would insanely cool to try and revive the old engine or if you pull and swap the better engine in it at least covering this engine in a future video to see if it’s still worthy or not! @truck master before u start i would take a look at the engine before the restoration and see if the engine is worth reviving before u spend money u don't want to spend just trying to get the engine running

Have you considered doing a raffle for a truck? Not necessarily a giveaway but something like $50-100 a ticket limited to 10,000-15,000 entries? Limited entries give better odds and you could sell the truck for a solid gain and keep the channel rolling without having to worry about the channel being demonetized

REVIVE THE ENGINE. Love to see the 260k mileage engine go on for longer.
Start the day with prayer. Ask for guidance from above about what to do. You will get an answer. Just got my 2015 3500HD LML back from the body shop. Seems the hips were a little wide for the post avoidance. Live and learn. Enjoy your channel.
Keep the LLY it would be awesome to see one on the channel, and I also have one would be cool to have insight on everything as you go through restoration.!!!!

That's what I am trying to do to my beautiful. 08 Silverado. This reminds me of graveyard carbs. They take the steroid. I mean, the destroyed months of cars that are rusted and half and turned them to masterpieces.
could 100% use those cc rocker panels….only if i wasnt 10.5 hrs away 🥴🥴🥴. cant wait to see where this build goes. while i wasnt a big chrome guy, on these pewter color trucks a tiny bit of color matching and chrome is the way to go. just so happens my truck is the same color.
You should build an lbm franken max out of it, lb7 bottom end with lmm heads an fuel system would be cool!
i think the old engine out of wifemax should go in the new truck less headaches since you know it runs

I had to replace my 01 chevy 2500 bed 6.5 ft and I got one off an 05 1500 all I had to do was take off a plate and it came with the spray in bed liner for 600 bucks same color too

I think you should build the lly as far as i know youve never done that on the channel. I own an lly and would love to watch you work on one. Might be very helpful to some of us

I have a lbz short block with a stage 2 cam in it also a fresh lb7 crankshaft for it I'll take 2k for complete short block and I also have a complete lly top end with injectors for 1k 2500 cash u can have everything
You should try to revive the original engine if possible, it would be interesting to see an in depth look on how to fix a time skipped diesel

Iv got an lly 4x4 crew cab runs like a champ almost to 300k its got studs and deleted but I love the vvt on the old girl

Those cat eye beds in my area are $400. $800 for that $2400 bed in 6.6ft. Some people lost their minds on parts
You should put in the old wifemax motor for now but do a complete over haul on the trash motor
You should look for my old LML. Im from Michigan as well, and i wrecked it a back in June and last I knew it got shipped somewhere down by where your at after insurance checked it and totaled it (your in perry mi area right? Im not 100% sure where my old truck went because that all went down while i was in the hospital and i was told at one point where it went after insurance but can't remember, i wasnt all there the whole time i was in the hospital following the accident). Its probably sitting in a junkyard down there somewhere within an hour or 2 driving distance of you and you could probably get it for cheap, it was great to me while i had it and id love to see it fixed and back on the road, maybe even better than before

I bought a extended cab 8ft bed lb7 with a mint frame rebuilt engine and transmission for $3,000 exactly the catch needs fenders bumper and rockers and has 348,110 miles it does also have one other issue shift range inhibited because the of the neutrals safety switch I think a few cycles and it drives fine best deal ever
