About Far From Saints:
Far From Saints are Kelly Jones of Stereophonics with Austin’s Patty Lynn and Dwight Baker of The Wind and The Wave, together they have co-written an album evoking a cross-genre sound spanning country, rock, folk, and Americana. Far From Saints is a project born from a shared, unadulterated love of music and collaboration, rich with emotions, creative integrity and defined by the unique sound of Kelly and Patty’s vocal harmonies.
Kelly, Patty and Dwight first experimented playing together when performing a cover version of Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty’s ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around’ on Kelly Jones’ solo UK tour in 2019 (Dwight and Patty were openers for Kelly each night). Very soon on that UK tour, the three found themselves jamming and co-writing songs in backstage hallways, dressing rooms, soundchecks and hotels. Each songwriter subconsciously merging their influences to nourish the alchemy between two formidable singers.
They booked recording sessions, one at the end of each leg of the tour and completed the entire album in just nine days. While it was created remarkably quickly, it also took years to be unveiled due to the worldwide pandemic. Still captivatingly fresh, the album is now ready to be shared with the world!

Kelly is one of the best singer/songwriters to ever come out of Britain.
Out of Wales he definitely is. His mentor and idol is Tom Jones, the man he considers a second father. Kelly and his band will be opening to Sir Tom in the two July Cardiff concerts.- what a thrill that will be for Kelly and Tom.

@@cj-kn3vs as much as it pains me to say, part of me actually wants KJ to have a break from the band as they’ve churned out album after album since about 97, and I think as a singer / performer he’s evolved so much and has become so well rounded (it lends itself to this) that it might be nice to take a break for a couple of years to allow some breathing space within the band. Also it must be so boring for the boys to always finish each and every concert with Dakota 😫

@@MrMrnice1983 A fucking machine bro and his drive and energy to pretty much work all the way through from Word gets around and go through his throat surgery and battle to learn to sing again, produce album after album, to keep going after Stuart’s death is nothing less than inspirational!! Love the change in his voice over the years from say “since I told you it’s over”, to how he sounds now but I reckon he’s more disciplined now not to over work this voice.

This is beautiful, the voices go so well together! I remember my first ever gig ‘James’ in Manchester, I heard a band so ran up the stairs “it’s not cool to listen the support act” retorted a pal! I saw a huge Welsh flag on stage, I’m half Welsh. Years later my pals are still jealous that I saw them break into ‘the bartender and the thief’ whilst they were literally getting thieved at the bar prices! 😂😂

Gorgeous song! Kelly gave his job title as 'songwriter' in his recent interview with Jo Whiley. I would say 'songwriting genius'. People can relate to his lyrics, connect with them. A storyteller. Since first hearing this collaboration, started listening to The Wind and the Wave and Patty, just like Kelly, has immense songwriting talent and a voice that you won't forget. Can't wait for the album to drop later this year. Well done, and the best of luck with this new project💖

Never got why he did this side project with these musicians. He should have done or do something with Lili Roquelin instead, she introduced me to Stereophonics music and respects them so much
Why? Just because you prefer Lili Roquelin does not mean it would be a good match. Her natural singing tone is far, far higher than Patty's and would dominate any pairing with Kelly. The Wind and The Wave supported Stereophonics on tour and they became friends. They then toured with Kelly on his solo tour and from there they decided to form Far From Saints. They knew what they were doing and their voices pair beautifully. I don't think you could get anything to sound more like rubbing polystyrene than trying to pair the voices of Lili Roquelin with Kelly Jones!
