I use noise cancelling for my bus commute, but the Open buds are on all day at work so I definitely feel like I’m getting my money’s worth out of them.
Same here! This is common sense btw. Hat-tip. They are extremely comfortable --- I forget that I have them on! The sound is absolutely amazing. I do chores around the house and can listen to my podcasts etc. Amazing product .
I have tried these and they are extremely comfortable. You can't feel them in your ears; and the sound was surprisingly good for an open style earbud. Very good. And being able to get music to sound good without having to endlessly fiddle with the fit, like other earbuds, is definitely, definitely convenient. Earbuds of any type that cost more than $300 can't justify that price, sound wise. The amount of control you can exercise directly from the earbud without having to go to the app is definitely a plus. I feel that these are $300. because people who like Bose will pay that money. And the product is definitely attractive, even if you don't like the company. The price of these will drop down as soon as they come up with another iteration of the open earbud and after they've been out for a while. If these cost $250, I don't believe anyone would blink.
There are a lot of good points here. One thing people miss is that they are glasses friendly. I've had the OG soundlink mini since 2013 and it's STILL kickin. As much as I love Bose products, I wasn't gonna shell out $300 for my very first pair of "open" earbuds. I ended up snagging these on Ebay for $118. Thanks for making this review. It gave me a lot to consider before pullin the trigger on getting these.
I love them. I can wear all day and I forget they are there. Also you can put headphones over them and you get both options for gaming and still have connection to phone. Just a great all purpose solution.
I agree on the price, but I'm sure it will come down soon after launch. I bought them for the way they sit in your ears. I am a big fan of the open style (I can't keep anything IN my ear for long periods) and have two pairs of oladance (home and work) for that reason. However, the oladance can sometimes be a chore to wear when I have on glasses. For me, that is the problem these solve. I'll probably keep using my oladance when I put in contacts but on glasses days these are it.
These are perfect especially if you don’t like something shoved in your ear and are very comfortable. I would give the audio 7/10 with little to no base.
As a ride-sharing driver, I think this works great. I can hear my navigation system without disturbing my passengers, and I can also hear my passengers more clearly if they want to communicate with me. The only downside is that the price of $299 is a bit steep for me, but Bose definitely has a great product.
I just bought these yesrerday and i will say they shouldnt be 300.00. One thing that is big is the placement of the earbuds. If you place them in the lower part of your ear, you will definitely have a fuller sound and the call quality will be better for the person you are talking to, because the placements of the mic. The more I use these the more I'm liking them. I have quite a few open earbuds from the Tozo's, 1more, Soundpeats, and the Shokz. I do like the Shokz the best, but the Bose do sound good, if you place them in the lower part of your ear and they are very comfortable. They are supposed to be getting multipoint in a future update, but for now you can set a shortcut to switch to multiple devices.
One of the best reviews I have ever viewed, going to pick up a pair tomorrow at Best Buy. Return policy so no commitment. I am not really into open ear buds, I do have the first ever AirPods released and haven’t bought any since and don’t use them a lot since I got their noise cancelling Pro afterwards. I want to witness if I am hearing music outside my ears coming in like I do listening with speakers with my stereo system. Thanks for your review, a big thumbs up.
Many new products start off like this, not all, but in the end cost is driven by demand. I purchased the Ultra and I personally love ❤them for when I travel. So, for a person like me who likes to be aware of my surroundings, it works (extravert). For those who like to be closed off, it may not be for them. Although there are lower cost options, the one thing the Ultra has going for it is the lack of ear fatigue, which is the opposite of what the other options gives its users. 😮
I was almost excited when I saw an ad for them since my ear is shaped perfectly so that literally every EarPod just falls out no matter what I do but paying $300 for it is insane for what has to be like 15 dollars of materials
@@StudioRV8Huawei Freeclip has IP54, multipoint connection, skin sensors, noise canceling mic’s and wireless charging which Bose does not have. Do you like the sound 100x times better as there is nothing else?
Sound quality and comfort is far superior with the Bose buds. I just can’t shake the Bose buds off at all and can wear them all day long and don’t even know I have them on after 5 minutes. I really like them.
You just sound salty with this comment. The amount of people who need multipoint is very limited and wired charging is hardly a bother for most people. Sure they could (and should) have higher IP rating and noise cancelling mic -- and maybe skin sensor(which I'd argue a skin sensor is not necessary especially if there are buttons on the buds), but the most important aspect of headphones is literally the sound quality, which this user likes way more @@VividTheater
I just received them for an early Christmas present. I agree on the sound leakage and I wish they an adjustable wrap around for people with larger lobes. Mine were purchased for $229, so I think worth the price. Great for workouts and walking.
I just got Bose ultra earbuds on sale at Best Buy on Nov.1st for $250...i have small ears andi had to play around with it to adjust to my ears but over all i like them..im do like Beats as well but this is a nice change to having my earbuds inside my ear drum
I have Bose quiet comfort buds, they are excellent and they have transparent mode which turns off noise cancelation and amplifies surrounding sounds to mimic open style, if price comes down I may look at these as I prefer nothing in my ear.
Thanks for the review. Would you say they fit/stay in your ear during every day tasks and or while working out? I currently own a pair of Bose and Apple ear buds and they always fall out when I’m working out.
@ man, the emotional rollercoaster I went through with these. They fit great, no issues there. However, it’s a no-go due to the sound quality. I have enough products from BOSE to know this is not the sound quality I am used to.
Thank you for this. Was thinking of trying them because I have a SLIGHT allergy of all the silicone buds (only if worn for a loooong time), but audio quality is a must. Appreciate this review!
And for ppl with tiny ears!!! 😅I only got them because my ears are tiny and I wear glasses so those other open options don’t work for me and the reg like AirPods or QCs fall out of my ear alllll the time.. Hopefully they’ll be good for me because I hated paying that price point🙄😩
They are expensive for sure, but the fit and comfort of these cannot be understated. Over the ear units fall off, and need to be adjusted regularly and these stay put and cause zero pain. That alone is worth the money to me.
Great review, very refreshing to hear an honest opinion. I'm struggling with the price too, because whatever I've bought in the past they never seem to last very long before something goes wrong - usually they stop charging or won't hold a charge for long, and I don't have the money to keep replacing them every few months or to keep trying different ones. I'm interested because I have never found anything that will stay in my ear, regardless of design and these look as though they will solve that problem. But it's a lot of money for what they are. As I'm typing this I'm watching a review of these vs the Huawei FreeClip (which I know are not available in the US), they have wireless charging, 36 hours recharging capacity and came out top with better sound, louder volume and better at handling phone calls in noisy conditions. And they're half the price. Sounds like a no-brainer to me and it seems to me that Bose are just relying on their name to justify the price.
If comparing with "boss ultra open" , in terms of 1) sound qaility 2) call quality 3) fit - comfortable ? ,which one would you recommend? Or any openear earbuds you would recommend?
Thank you for the review. I can’t wear in ear ear buds so I’ve decided to go for these. I’ve worn aftershokz for running and I prefer sound quality. I also have Sony over ear headphones and I spend a lot of time with only one ear covered. I can’t wait for mine to be delivered tomorrow.
I am a Bose fan. I have never owned a Bluetooth earbud that fit my ears and stayed in. This is a design that finally works for me and I got them on a Black Friday deal for $50 off. 👍🏻
Looking for something to use riding my bike. I have used the openshokz, but the wind noise is overwhelming. You cannot hear the music and the mic for a call is completely out of the question. Recommendations?
Very comfortable, and great for all-day use, I wear these much more than I ever have my AirPod 3s. The start of your video suggested it was going to be a hit piece, but I persisted and was pleasantly surprised that your review was fair. I think you undersold the sound quality tho, the quality of sound is leagues beyond any other open ear earphones I’ve tried due to the projection system they use. Bass isn’t brilliant, but it never is with earphones. I also find that the immersive audio is a considerable improvement over the stereo setting.
I'd like to say that even though you tell me these are too expensive and you don't understand the purpose, the very next segment where you explain their fit and how they work in your exercise is literally the reason I want these. Thanks for making this video and being honest.
Very well spoken. Whether people agree or don't agree. You made your points fair and logical. I feel you on the price aspect. I wull probably wait for them to drop into the low $200 range before I buy them. Wirh my luck, they will probably just stop making them 😮
A balanced and informative review, I was out looking for one of these open earbuds and thank your for helping me to make up my mind, I think I know which one to go for....
I recently purchased these ear buds and I do really like them, but I do have hearing issues(wear hearing aides at 54 yrs old) With that being said, I don't think these ear buds are for me. At 100% volume, I can hear the music well. But if I am doing or being around noise, it completely ruins the vibe. I have covered my ears while these are in or on my ears, and it sounds great. With that being said, which earbuds would you recommend for someone hearing impaired? Thank you in advance!
Bose got really cool and innovative design. But quality hasn't been the same in years. When I purchased my first Bose SoundLink a loooong time ago, quality was superb (some 20 years back) when I went to go buy the same Bose SoundLink about 5 years back the speaker was horrible in quality. I know they outsource for cheaper in labor but they should have at least stocked with their excellent quality. I feel like they try but are only floating with their products. I'm glad you made this preview because I was looking for some earbuds that I could hear around me while I'm listening to music. In a kitchen if someone has both earbuds in their ear and someone is calling them it obviously would cause an accident that's why most people would put one earbud on their ear. This seems to be a waste of money because you mention the quality of the sound. Yeah definitely still not buying until their quality gets better.
Looking for an earbud that will stay while on long runs. I get really sweaty and my airpod pros slip out of my ear. Would you recommend these, or beats fit pro? 10km-20km length runs
My use case really appreciates these ear buds. I don’t like people around me at home being able to hear what I’m watching and these make me feel like I have a decent surround sound system with me. While I don’t expect a full range of sound, using these for casual use with no wearing fatigue is bang for my buck. One caveat is I’d almost wear them in the shower because I’m so used to wearing them now.
I love them, love the design, love the fact nothing is stuck in me ears, when I’m sweating during my workout the sweat doesn’t puddle up on the buds. Disclaimer, I did get them for $249 instead of the $300 on the website. Even if though, what brand new ear buds don’t cost that from a high end brand.
Crazy these are more than the quiet comfort ultra! Maybe they are diamond studded? The design is unique and fun to see change. Love me, my Sony's, though. Thanks for another awesome review!
TWS sport earbuds from Walmart and online elsewhere. They rival the expensive ones without all the manufacturers hype. I have the sport behind the ear TWS $30.00 at Walmart about 4 years ago. Still going strong, no issues, connect fast. Keep in mind, all the earbuds are disposable after the batteries die. They fill the landfill.
I like my airpods pro, they fit my ear perfectly, the issue is I tend to fidget with them and take them in and out of my ear. I hate the pressurized feeling of having something in my ear, even with transparency mode on. This clip design is the perfect compromise. I can listen to something while sacrificing sound quality for comfort.
The mic ...usually give me shitty quality (all BOSE products) but this one is surprisingly good. Not the greatest but much better than other BOSE earbuds...
Great video! I have been rocking Bose frames glasses for I don’t know how long….until now! Altos and sopranos, i have my prescription lenses in them and I have to say Bose has a great warranty program that has been replacing my glasses until now. They have discontinued the glasses and they’ve offered me THESE as a warranty replacement. I should be receiving them any from Bose in the day now. I am gutted they stopped making the glasses, I like listening to music allot and like to able to talk to my crane operator as well as hear what’s going on around me so these should be pretty groovy! I think you’re right though I don’t wanna pay no CAD$400 for it. I’d pay a hun
I am a Bose fan, but wouldn't pay more than $200 for these. The aware mode works well on the quietcomfort ultra earbuds. But, drop to $200 and I'll use these for workouts/running.

These are the best earbuds/headphones I have ever owned… imo these put AirPods to shame… I put them on when I get up and take them off before I sleep. Walk, jump, run, lay down straight, eat, talk, tilt your head… they won’t come off. Sounds quality is amazing.. bass is enough. The perfect position is near the bottom of the earlobe pointing to the ear canal.. minimal audio bleed and clear rich music… Bose did a fabulous job with one…

@StudioRV8 when you're first turning them on or right before they start playing any music, you'll hear a static like sound. It's not so bad if you're listening to music, but if you're listening to a podcast in a quite place it's pretty noticeable
@@brianmathis5423 Something seems wrong. Mine don’t do that at all. I did update my firmware before I started to use them. I understand that addressed microphone and connection issues. I did that through the app.
Im the same I am not sure they are an improvement on the other ear buds, mine feel like they dont fit to me. not as loud in the ear either. They do look good and fairly sturdy, used on treadmills whilst running and walking its just the fit to me.
I think these may be a pair for me in the future based on the way the earbuds stay around the ear. I like the earbuds that I have, but after a while of having them stay in my ear, they start to hurt, and then I get a headache afterward, so these possibly my next pair.

@@OTTNext Pro gamer setup at home is pretty awesome 😂
I agree on the price, but I'm sure it will come down soon after launch. I bought them for the way they sit in your ears. I am a big fan of the open style (I can't keep anything IN my ear for long periods) and have two pairs of oladance (home and work) for that reason. However, the oladance can sometimes be a chore to wear when I have on glasses. For me, that is the problem these solve. I'll probably keep using my oladance when I put in contacts but on glasses days these are it.
Valid
Thank you for watching!
Does it have background noise cancellation during phone calls? If not, it's not worth the price.
Which ones are the best open earphones
I was almost excited when I saw an ad for them since my ear is shaped perfectly so that literally every EarPod just falls out no matter what I do but paying $300 for it is insane for what has to be like 15 dollars of materials
Huawei Free Clip vs Bose Ultra Open earbuds. Those two have similar designs, but which one has better sound and features?
I have both. Bose are 100x better. No comparison.

So which open earbuds have the most bass and richness in sound quality in your opinion
1more Fit S50, they're kindve a hybrid style. After that the Soundcore Aerofit Pro.
I’ve tried several, and these buds from Bose are amazing.
I just received them for an early Christmas present. I agree on the sound leakage and I wish they an adjustable wrap around for people with larger lobes. Mine were purchased for $229, so I think worth the price. Great for workouts and walking.
the fact is that most people should be using these instead of the in-ear style
About audio quality - have you tried them lower down your ear? This would surely angle the driver more into your canal and get it closer?
I just got Bose ultra earbuds on sale at Best Buy on Nov.1st for $250...i have small ears andi had to play around with it to adjust to my ears but over all i like them..im do like Beats as well but this is a nice change to having my earbuds inside my ear drum
Undoubtedly the best reviewer on RUclips!!!!!
Yes, they stray in place very well
@ man, the emotional rollercoaster I went through with these.
How would you compare them to the aftershokz?
My biggest question is… do they leak a lot of noise? Like if I want to comfortably listen to music loud, will people be able to hear it
As always great honest review!
Thank you!
How well do these pair up with iPhones? Can you use siri with them?
Which color did you get?
@ white. Love them.
I love your honesty! It’s refreshing & I do appreciate it
Looking for something to use riding my bike. I have used the openshokz, but the wind noise is overwhelming. You cannot hear the music and the mic for a call is completely out of the question. Recommendations?
can you give example of better options out there?
In your opinion, what are the best sounding open style bone conduction earphones? Good review btw.
How do these compare to the huawei free clips ?
How has the call quality been so far?
Excellent.
Loved this review. Earbuds in general hurt after 20 min so I'm looking for an around-ear solution.
Are these good for running ?
Always like your reviews, short , direct and honest.
These buds are very similar to bose frames but with speakers closer to the ear
Thank you!
Crazy these are more than the quiet comfort ultra! Maybe they are diamond studded? The design is unique and fun to see change. Love me, my Sony's, though. Thanks for another awesome review!
Right?? in what world does it make sense for these to cost more than the QC ultra?
they are FASHION
TWS sport earbuds from Walmart and online elsewhere. They rival the expensive ones without all the manufacturers hype.
I have the sport behind the ear TWS $30.00 at Walmart about 4 years ago. Still going strong, no issues, connect fast.
Keep in mind, all the earbuds are disposable after the batteries die. They fill the landfill.
Bullshit, Walmart boy 😂😂

I like the look of these, never got on with the in ear buds and lighter than headphones, and bose is a quality product.
For yearssss I struggle with AirPods headphones that go in the ear. These look perfect so, they don’t fall out my ear within 10s
What are the other open style earbuds you recommend?
I really like the 1more Fit Open S50. It's kind've a hybrid style earbud.
Can you wear them independently?
How is the bass compared to Huawei FreeClip? Thank you for detailed review
Haven't tried those, but pretty much all other open style buds I've tried have more bass.
Bose is much better.
The only Bose I ever owned was a pair of desktop speakers I got from my daughter for Christmas about 5 years ago.
200 makes alot more sense. No reason these should be priced higher than the QC ultra earbuds.

@ceonthemaking WHICH OPEN EAR BUDS OFFER BETTER SOUND THAT THESE bose ultra? That hold a similar design?
These are the only ones ive tried with this specific design
These are the best earbuds/headphones I have ever owned… imo these put AirPods to shame… I put them on when I get up and take them off before I sleep. Walk, jump, run, lay down straight, eat, talk, tilt your head… they won’t come off. Sounds quality is amazing.. bass is enough. The perfect position is near the bottom of the earlobe pointing to the ear canal.. minimal audio bleed and clear rich music… Bose did a fabulous job with one…
I saw a young woman with these at the Apple Store, and I had to have them. I recently made the purchase, and it’s going to take some getting used to. Ive been so used to pushing buds into my eardrums… gonna take a minute to get used to it
Yo just got a pair, did the high noise floor on the buds not bother you? It's pretty annoying to me
What’s a high noise floor. Mine sound amazing.
They do look good and fairly sturdy, used on treadmills whilst running and walking its just the fit to me.
well rounded honest view thanks for being real
I think these may be a pair for me in the future based on the way the earbuds stay around the ear. I like the earbuds that I have, but after a while of having them stay in my ear, they start to hurt, and then I get a headache afterward, so these possibly my next pair.
from a cyclist perspective i think they're really interesting ,especially while wearing glases and stuff the way they attach to the ear is nice .Not sure tho if the sound would be sufficient while having winds and riding speeds from like 20mph

A few days ago I bought some Bose Open Ultra and I have a small problem with them. When starting a sound, a sound like "ssssss" is heard in the background and when the sound ends it continues for a few seconds until it turns off completely

My brother most open headphones have better sound quality and better sound stage. I bought some and I tried them in my friends car. One of my songs came on and I literally thought for a second it was coming from the car. Very much worth the cost so far
Just depends on what type of sound you like. For me, Open earbuds would never be my 1st choice for sound.
Biggest thing, how is the call quality and pairing strength? If the mic isn’t good it’s a solid pass
