- It's an ADVENTURE!! Classic Game Room buys a SEGA SATURN video game console system!!! This action packed behind the scenes adventure film follows Classic Game Room to the front lines of video editing all the way into Squirrel Hill to buy a used Sega Saturn. The Saturn was not one of Sega's most successful video game consoles, in fact you could say it failed horribly. However, that doesn't mean that there aren't some great games for it like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Virtua Fighter 2, Darius Gaiden, DoDonPachi, Doom, Shenmue, Guardian Heroes, Panzer Dragoon Zwei II, Sega Rally, Shining Force III, Snatcher and Sonic Jam. It is well known for 2D games like vertical and horizontal scrolling shooters, or SHMUPS like Gunbird. The SHMUP genre was never as popular in the United States and most people didn't give a hoot about the Saturn because they were too busy playing Playstation back in the mid to late 1990's. Well, whatever. Classic Game Room certainly doesn't care if most other people thumbed their nose at it, we're getting one, and here's the movie depicting the journey to Saturn!!!!

This video is such a cool time capsule. Windows XP, old RUclips layout, old editing software and equipment, local game stores with cheap games, etc. I love it.
Stuff sucks now
@@doom5895 Agreed
downside of popularity is that it increases demand. Also that SNES is still rather expensive.
The world ended in 2012. The good world, anyway.
@@doom5895 right. those loser old people games were sooooooo much better than call of duty hahaha yeahhh right
WOW... that old RUclips, old Windows XP, old editing system...EVERYTHING is great about this!!!
"Is a tree as much of a tree when I don't have a Sega Saturn?" This guy gets it.
musicnight, lol
That fucking cracked me up, lol. Mark's deadpan delivery is amazing
I read that comment as he was saying it. Is this fate?
I need that as a poster, or something.
No he doesn’t,liking outdated dead things is embarrassing, these are facts.
A classic Classic Game Room episode.
+KaBlamBandicoot64 I feel you!
It's not ending. He's just not doing a video every day like he usually does
+Commanderwolf74 The sad reality is we do not enough time in a day to do what we want to do.
+Steve Normandin that's uh... Deep
cgr is not ending hes funding with patreon
The best classic game room video in my opinion
But you're a Dreamcast!
That's why I'm a little jelly...
+SEGA DREAMCAST Because the older Saturn was bought instead of you Dreamcast?
+SEGA DREAMCAST I watch it so many times,I like the sensation when you go buy a console that you loved, and when you finaly have it...Its priceless!!!
Steve Normandin exactly!
Wow, this is before Mark moved to space!
No actually space just looks a lot like downtown Pittsburgh. True fact!
Mark was BANISHED to space. Probably, because he was ahead of his time.
I grew up in Pittsburgh. Man
@@drewvonawesome8851 bro I literally want to argue this but I can’t.
I think this is still the best CGR Episode there is.
This has got to be my favorite video on the internet.
he walks away and the alarm goes off lol
he has a button he press on his key that locks it and it makes that sound*
Josh Banks He robbed the store and got away with the Saturn.
A clean get away XD
God I miss Classic Game Room so much.
Classic Game Room is back!
@@TURBOBLU-fx6mn And gone again!
Years later im still watching the classic/ classic game room videos.
This one is still my favorite.
I was just thinking...man this vid is 14 years old?
@@skinnyp98 probably
This video was way ahead of its time.
This is how I feel today waiting for my Sega Dreamcast with Shenmue, Sega Rally 2, and Crazy Taxi to come in the mail this week
Best feeling ever
I assume you had a good time.
Pfft ROTFLMFAO 😂🤣😂
It's funny that this came out when I was a teenager. I remember that this is what taught me what a Sega Saturn was. Now I love so many Saturn games like Virtua fighter.
Miss the golden age of CGR
Dude I'm Pittsburgh born and raised and I just bought a Dreamcast from that very exchange store 2 days ago! I think I want a Saturn now!
+doobdoob2 So... did you get it?
+Gaming Cu Vlad He died
After watching this, I realized I've been watching this show for a loooong time... and also that I'm old....
I'm on a never ending mission to view all CGR videos and comment on them.
This video is my version of therapy, easily the best RUclips video of all time.
I love that feeling when your super excited for something and just waiting
Such a fun episode. Thanks for all the great vids you created over the years, Mark. If you’re reading this comment, I hope it finds you happy and well.
He doesn't even talk to you unless you were part of his patron. He's a major douche bag.
"Is a tree, as much of a tree when I don't have a Sega Saturn?"
Best philosophical question ever!
I miss classic game room
Same here
Does anyone know why he went completely off the rocker
That felling when your excited of buying something is awesome, had that feeling to.

Mmmmmm Nature XD
- Mark Bussler
I just bought a Saturn a few days ago. Model 1 with the original launch box :D
nice
what did you play?
2008 before the whole collecting sickness kicked in and folks were buying games to throw on a shelf and go "herpty derp, look what i got.. ah durrrrrrrr".... back when they were more affordable..
The Goof oh man you nailed it! I mean shit even these fake wannabe girls do it now too. Really makes me hate the video game community so much.
some consoles are still dirt cheap cus there not "cool" yet... like xbox and ps2
Looking back 2016 prices weren't even bad. Today however...
Bionicle Forever I bet by 2040 the average ps2 game will be $50 while the average Sega Saturn game will be $1000
@@Roblox2025 it’s almost like that in 2021
Man this is a re actment of how I felt when I waiting for my Sega Cd Front Loader Model 1 to arrive in the mail. An indescribable feeling that will never be forgotten.
you always made everything so damn exciting back then mark. who wouldn't want a saturn after watching this?
I feel the same way as Mark when I'm getting a new Game Console!
I just experienced this feeling eariler. I GOT A SEGA GENESIS!!!!!!
+All Access Gaming N64 anyone?
VintagePC's alike Why the N64?
All Access Gaming
I dunno. Something about me just finds the design of it attractive. Just bought mine today, as a matter of fact, with this really awesome translucent blue controller.
VintagePC's alike That's awesome! I got an NES not that long ago and it's freaking awesome!
Wish i could travel back in time and buy all the stuff i want for 10 times less money.
MrAtariable it will be expensive if youre getting it on launchday, not to mention that your money will ajusted with the current time
That'd be the dream
The good old days of Classic Game Room.
I can relate to Mark's feeling.
I've been overjoyed many times when I bought a new game console.
I have bought a PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS & 3DS & Nintendo Wii during all these years & EVERY time I was excited & happy as hell.
This video reminds me of all those moments, so this video is one of my favorite CGR video.
I'm also happy for Mark too, because I know Sega Saturn is awesome.
One of the first og youtubers I have ever watched, god damn do I miss this guy's videos...
Me too man
@@TURBOBLU-fx6mn this was really funny and well put together
When I'm not playing Sega Saturn, I'm watching this. I don't have a problem.
This is a time capsule.
Simpler times, when retro gaming was only getting obsolete technology for fun, and you get things that you really liked, before hidden gems, scalpers, hoarding collections for the sake of just owning and when Mark said, "this can be found dirt cheap".
It's ironic I didn't had money growing up to afford the old games and consoles and I hoped to grow and get them for cheap once they were considered just old and obsolete, now there still some of them that I still cannot afford thanks to scalpers.
Selling an old console for what it's worth is not scalping.
@@ThorStoneGaming it is, sometimes.
More time has now passed between this video and now, than the time between the release of the Sega Saturn and the release of this video.
My God. I'm ancient..!
Ah, this takes me back to 1998, when I brought home a Sega Saturn, with 2 controllers, and 10 games...all for $50. At that price, how could I not?
Sega was completely dead at that point. I only remember seeing sega genesis games in stores that year
This has to be one of my favourite CGR episodes: you can really feel Mark's excitement ^_^
I totally understand Mark's excitement over a Sega Saturn.
I had the same feeling, when I did buy a new console for my collection.
My first PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, Nintendo DS, 3DS & Wii.
Man it's always a awesome experience.
And this is still my favorite CGR video!!!!!
This video made me buy a Sega Saturn!
Thank you Mark :)
+Mr. Wyatt Kinda pricey.
+Jacob C. Pricey if it is a US NTSC one because to play japanese games on it you will need to spend some more money for a Action Replay cart. You are better off buying a Japanese Saturn for the same price and save some coin. You are not missing anything on the US side, trust me. Japanese releases of US games are actually cheaper.
"Welcome to your new home and your new life."
Omg the Nostalgia.
"good morning bridge did you know im getting a sega saturn today." i hit the floor laughing XD
Ah yes, good old 2008
2019? Anyone?
Sorry but I'm replying to your comment while I'm in 2008.
Man. You're old school to the core.
CLASSIC Game Room! XD
Legend has it Mark is still driving that Mazda
We love all of your older videos, please keep uploading all of them. Thanks, from your #1 subscriber and supporter on Patreon up here in the Seattle area.
I miss the old updated youtube, who agree with me?
definitely, all these google and google+ bullshit just makes me wanna use youtube much less
I felt this way when I brought my 64 home. I felt like I was adopting a new child
My favorite CGR episode. Rewatching this video brings out the kid in me.
That song at the start always gets me pumped about being a proud owner of a SEGA Saturn.
Sega Saturn in 2008: 40 dollars
Sega Saturn in 2023: 200+ dollars
Saturn emulator with ALL the games 2023 $0 😂
That's a pretty flippin' sweet dog you got there, Mark
Same thing here last week. Got my Sega Saturn for 40 bucks too. Same model, same thing, same excitement. Best video on RUclips !
one of my fave videos on youtube i keep coming back to it after years and years
dude I love these videos, I always come back from work or band practise, unwind and watch some cgr. in my opinion you are the best reviewer out there. keep up the excellent work!
Bring back CGR
What a fantastic video. Great content- I love this and Sega
80s comics you should make more CLASSIC GAME ROOM
I just picked up my first saturn 2 days ago and I must say I was just as excited and I couldn't help but to think of this video the whole time driving home
One of my favorite CGR videos ever! I still wanna know there are no racing games with Sarlacc pits to jump over!
Never knew getting a Saturn was such a big deal. But then again I have had mine for the majority of my life.
Its awesome to see some one as old as I am, well almost as old as I am, that still gets excited about video games, as I do. I've been watching your vids for a couple months now, this is one of my favorites, along with the Wind Squid Project. All in all very well done.
Mark i love all of your content but this is one of my fav videos ...lol...i love it. i know youre doing awesome videos else where in space but you should do content like this video...for fun...for us here on earth. we would love it!
Filming + Driving = More epic than GTA
When you get involved in the Sega Saturn. It's a whole thing. It's not like normal consoles, a lot of your games are imports and then for its time it's a console with an internal storage. So you learn how to swap battery's from the battery bay. You learn what action replays are so on and so fourth. All the classic 2d fighters and shmups that are available. The whole 9. I got a Saturn/collecting 10 months ago. Didn't grow up with one , had the psone at the time and was just burning the shit outa games lent to me or rented. So I am very familiar with the psone
This is one of the Best videos i've ever seen, really entertaining. And the Sega saturn looks sick. Great vid like always
"Good Morning giant Bridge...Do you know that I'm getting a Sega Saturn Today?"
I actually said that earlier today because I got my Sega Saturn in the mail today.
*Um verdadeiro tributo ao Sega Saturn! Adoro esse video!!*
WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! DO YOU LIVE IN PITTSBURGH???
*The Intergalactic Space Arcade*
OMG, SECTAURS! I have been trying to remember for like 15 years what those were called! (not 15 years straight. I took breaks) I could remember what they looked like, but couldn't remember the name, and googling the description never worked. Thanks for bringing it up, Mark! Hooray!
"is a tree, as much of a tree, if I dont have a sega saturn?" Is one of my favorite quotes of all time LOL
This dog is awesome!
Mark, you kick ass!
Classic game room you chose great music this is hilarious and great 👍🏼
I remember getting my sega saturn unexpectedly from the back room at a pawn store for $45. I was so giddy.
I have a sega saturn, genesis/32x, and dreamcast. All I need now is a sega cd and a power base converter and I'll be in Sega heaven!
This ep is a classic
Damn I remember pretty much growing up with classic game room. Makes me feel such a wave of nostalgia
This video is old enough to drink...
not legally but when has that ever stopped anyone?
Now i won't be able to get an image out of my head of Mark playing a SEGA Saturn classic, and just as a loading screen comes up, he smiles and says 'MMMM, Nautre.'
At the Volo Car Museum by me they have an entire room full of old retro systems that it's pretty mind blowing. They even have a vectrex! Mark would love this place.
Where is that Saturn now???
Ah, the good ol days when they couldn’t get rid of video games and they were cheap!
hey it's the Exchange! I go there all the time now for all my classic gaming goodness. I live by Squirrel Hill.
in 2018 i still rewatch this video lol. do more vids like this in the future hehe
RetroIslandBoy he doesn’t do classic game room on youtube anymore only amazon prime.
Nowadays, consoles like these cost $100.00 or way more than that...
The Poor Old Soul very true plus you have far better luck finding a Japanese version of the Saturn. i just bought one for 108 bucks.
*Ske* I found a US Sega Saturn on Amazon for over $500 or $700.
I got my white saturn in good condition with a pad and hookups for 60 bucks in 2013 from a local shop. So glad I got it asap.
I was able to get mine in 2017 for $60 with game included
almost eight years ago. wow
And it's already been half that time since you made this comment
always a fan of your vids! I'm actually picking up my Saturn tomorrow! Watching this only makes the wait WORSE!
Glad to see you also shop at the Exchange, most of my games these days have an Exchange sticker on them.
Wow, you picked up everything! Where do you live Mark?
The intergalactic space arcade of course!!
Ah 40 bucks that was forever ago
lol love this video. can totally relate to the enthusiasm when i picked up my saturn last week. lil guy changed my life forever. we've been dancing, singing, playing, hugging, feeding each other, telling jokes... you name it, me and my saturn have done it. fuggin love my lil buddy
I loved this episode! If I could "like" it a thousand times I would. More episodes like this please!!
Oh, and I loved the alarm going off in the background as you were walking away with your bags LOL
is the dog still alive?
Of course.
***** lol
how about now? :)
Install those important xp updates yo!
10 years later , and this video is still awesome!
I liked the Behind The Scenes part. Wish you'd do more of those!
