Camino John, thank you for your great Camino videos. I watched 13 in two days. And, no, I'm not bored, rather, I'm excited. You see I'm planing the Camino Portuguese this autumn and i am a bit concerned about getting lost. You did mention a Camino tracker and I'd like to know what you used. I usually don't have WiFi access except for at albergues. Thanks again for the videos.

Glad that my videos are helping.
My first step was to get guide books and then proceed to open up Google Maps to locate the various towns along the route and add pushpins. That gave me my first overview. Also getting a data plan for your phone may be an option. I abused the hell out of it in Portugal. You should get a power bank to help keep your phone topped off.
Next was GPX Viewer (Pro is the paid version) and I downloaded the GPS-Caminho-Portuguese-de-Santiago-Lisbon track. Now I think the Pro version allows you to download the map. This helped keep me on track. There may be Camino apps as well.
Third, for the most part, once you are out in the countryside, the way is pretty well marked up. I can't recall taking a wrong turn, granted I double checked to see why they are having me walk in the middle of nowhere. The only exception was one section where the "scenic" route had me go an extra mile near the river in a sea of corn! I just followed the farm road straight to the town.
The Caminho Portuguese Pilgrims Facebook group is an excellent resource. You can post questions there.
Also, when you leave from the Cathedral in Lisbon, the first part of the walk is quite enjoyable. But once out in the supposed countryside, there was a LOT of trash and garbage you have to see and walk near.
If you want a new challenge, check out my 2022 videos in England. It was no Camino / Caminho, but rewarding.
      Enjoy your walk!
