This is the first time I've heard an E.C. include parents. Too often we zoom in on schools, admin, or the teachers, but the crux of where changes happen should start from home. Here in NYC like in most school districts, parents trust that leadership is making the best choices to meet student needs, but E.C. can empower parents more, therefore they know more of what to expect!

What I like about this is that -- there is realism in this interview. Let people know what they are getting into.

COVID is here and educators need to be smart about how we use our intellectual property (our minds). I am looking forward to growing my business. This interview was VERY helpful!

Dr. Will, I enjoyed listening to this video interview with LaVonna Roth. I received a confirmation when Ms. Roth talked about differentiation. I like how she spoke of her own comfort level. Her truth was refreshing to hear about the high and lows of the consulting business in the field of education. Thank you. Dr. ABW

I also have a M.Ed & EdD...this video was very insightful with respect to getting started as an education consultant... there seem to be no practical info available on this topic. Coincidently, Dr. Will, you asked the very same questions I had in mind. And like you, I'm not giving up my definite streams of income to become an education consultant... the field appears to be just too wishy-washy financially. Thank you and your guest for sharing your knowledge and your experiences.

Very informative interview! I wholeheartedly agree with educators getting paid for our unique skill sets-not to mention the time it takes to develop presentations, curriculum and so forth. I have given away countless hours of expertise that I know has tremendous value. Schools and nonprofit organizations have benefitted most and some have even earned revenue from ideas and programs that I developed. We educators have a passion for what we do and most of us are driven by that passion. On the other hand, our value should be rewarded monetarily. I have known this all along, but needed to hear and see someone who has taken the leap into this field. Thank you so much, Dr, Will and LaVonna! I look forward to learning more from you as I embark on my own journey of becoming an education consultant. Best wishes to both of you.

I share your sentiment. I also have given countless hours of advice and curriculum mapping for free which rendered outstanding results. Meanwhile the school I work for continued to pay The Lavinia Group close to a quarter of a million dollars under a contractual agreement for 3-5 years of consulting and the school failed miserably, now there's a Lesson Learned!

Thanks, Dr. Will and LaVonna! This was the first time I've seen your podcast and it was fun and informative. I'm one of those people with 2 feet still in the classroom, who is prepping the stage for the consulting piece of my career. I love presenting at conferences and have been hired twice by one county for PD and LOVED the experience. Thanks for the tips and encouragement!
