Nissan if your reading this and as much as I'm an Nissan fan. The car is beautiful BUT. If youre a consumer that knows anything about cars and the track it's lackluster. It under performs at everything compared to the Supra and at the same price tag.. I'm not going to spend the same amount as I would for a Supra then have to spend over $10,000-$20,000 just to get it to perform close to a Supra which can beat it with just an ECU tune. If you look at the Supra for the same damn price it gives me adaptive suspension a better infotainment system. Don't get me started on the engine and the transmission. That Bmw engine is beautiful. Also dealers are marking up the car over MSRP like it's a golden child that out performs the Supra. It's just not worth it. The VR30ddtt had almost 10 years! 10!!! To give it a simple upgrade to it's cooling/turbos/suspension/interior software for the UI. The damn gps and infotainment system looks like its stuck in 2010.
That’ll just outcompete the GTR. Keep in mind on the z and the GTR can make the same horsepower on stock internals, which is about 750 wheel horsepower, the GTR shines because it’ll do it on stock turbo. That’ll just make Nissan work harder to up the hp on the GTR which they don’t want to do.
@GarciaQ60 Nissan has no choice but to give the GTR more hp as the competition has passed the GTR. Most cars at that price have 600+hp. For this being a Nismo 20 more hp can be achieved with just a tweak.
For that damn price at least give me an adaptive suspension and an already beefed up cooling system so I don't gotta upgrade the radiators and all. Stuff that's a hassle for me to upgrade myself or to properly set up right. The car is beautiful I give it that but the interior UI is extremely dated also. You have to compete in some way with Toyota but for what $3,000 less MSRP who would buy this? Oh and dealers are marking it up to a point where I'd rather buy a Supra or Corvette.
The powerband on the Nissan z is in the midrange. On fbos e85 it gets 600lbft of torque on stock turbos at 3k rpm. Hp rises till 5k then starts to drop off until 7k. On upgraded turbos your not making max torque till 6k rpm which would be 600lbft, but you’ll make 740whp at 7k rpm.
The Supra is just better.... I'm a Nissan fan but for someone that'll normally just do a ECU tune intake/exhaust and maybe other supporting mods. I'd have to drop more $$$ in the Z to get it close to the Supra. Such as suspension transmission upgrades and the gps/UI I can't even do anything about. It's like a Nissan rouges 2010 software. Not gonna be running no E85
Make the GTR internals handle 800lbft of torque from the factory then you can give the nismo z bigger stock turbos. We all know the GTRs capabilities, but you need to up the power in order for the z not to undermine the GTR. As they both handle a max of 600lbft of torque on stock internals

For a nismo Z, 500hp is where it should be. No one is going to get excited about 20 more hp. Especially with so much competition.

A broader flatter power and torque is more important than peak hp number when youre dealing with a road course car.
