Yes!! Awesome video! The guy who built AF line was one of the most dedicated trail builders Ive ever met. He pretty much lived out there. I was fortunate enough to get invited to help build the trail at the end of your video. Punk Rock. Short trail but took well over 100 hours to build by hand. Hope you enjoyed it!
I live in Campbell River. Seen lots of bears, all of them black bears and they can't be bothered with people. Just don't get between the sow and her cubs. Never heard of anyone having any bear problems in this area. Chances of seeing a cougar is extremely rare. Great riding and hiking trails for all levels.
Yup, it was struggling on this one. I added a counter weight to help with motor noise, and while that worked like a charm, those little motors couldn't handle the extra weight!
@@TheLoamRanger oh thanks for the feedback :) By the way loved your recent EWS100 content! Would've been awesome to see you finish as well, but safety first of course! And your video tips on how to make better mtb videos was super helpful! keep it up!
There are plenty of bears and cougars on the island. I may not have seen one on this ride, but you can bet I was probably seen/heard by some furry creature out in those woods. Attacks aren't common at all, but you gotta always have what you need just in case -- especially if you're riding alone.
Cougar spray 😆. We haven't that type of issue in France....or maybe wolves 😁. Nice trail !! Come on in my country, you should find some spicy trails....

The Raindrops sync to the Beat 😍 dope!
Yes!
Bear walking to the forrest minding its own business: "I wonder what I'll have for lunch today."
Ryan: "HEY HO!!!"
Great riding, love the edits. Glad you enjoyed AF... the video really doesn't do justice to how chunky it is.
The raindrops though! Killer vid! Wish i could be this good!
Thanks man!
The guys at Swicked are awesome. Cant wait to see the next video!
They are! Can't wait to post it.
Swicked crew are awesome folk!
We are heading up to Fanny Bay soon! Trail looks sick!

good call on going back for the "cougar" spray on Vancouver Island.
oh my god my science teacher built these trails, never thought the loam ranger would show up in Campbell River
Sweeeet! Also glad I'm not the only person who shouts out in the forest every know and again to warn the wildlife.
Trail POV but if you tell you give up the element of surprise 😅
@@CalgaryDynastar Haha. We all love surprise encounters with bears and cougars especially
I have a Timber! Bell on my MTB. But the constant jingling would probably ruin the vibe if I were making videos.
@@mattgies I've been trying to find the company that I remember a year or so ago made a bell that fits in the headset, but can't find it.
I feel like your gimbal isn't following fast enough in the yaw.

Surreal seeing my little home town in a high quality video. Looking forward to the next one!
It's so awesome there! Lucky man.
@@TheLoamRanger Definitely feeling a little hashtag blessed. Thanks so much for coming out here and posting this vid. And to Mountain Biking BC :P
Very cool trail!!
What setting you use for motion blur,or you have nd filter ? Look so nice👍🏽👍🏽
Nice fun ride, i'm sure the climb helped you prepare and the threat of bear and cougar help with the speed down!
Haha the best kind of motivation!
Got to love a good ride! 1.2 hours to climb and 1.27 min/sec to ride down! :)
and somehow it's always worth it!
Nice ride man!
Thanks! It was a fun one.
Beautiful
You’re videos are the BEST man - keep it up bro♥️
Thanks a lot Toby!
Are you racing the tansky enduro race in jordon river?
Sounds fun! I've been back in Alberta for a while now though.
An enduro in Jordan River?!?!? I didn't know there was a trail network out there? Let alone a race? Any info available on it?
@@JustJake77 go to Sooke mountain bike club website they have info!
@@maxlockwood1253 thanks! Will do!
Max Lockwood thanks
So what was your verdict on the tyres in the wet first ride on mine on Sunday and it's going to be wet 😕
They were nice and grippy! Especially on wet/loose dirt. I was able to press into flat-ish corners without worry.
Sweet!
You still using Devinci Resolve? Seems so much better as if you purchased final cut pro or something. Great content.
So much green
I think the one place to have noisy hubs is in Canada with all the bears and what not.
Exactly why I just bought hope fortus wheels with Pro 4 hubs. Lots of bears here
Trail looks fun! Just out ride the bear, you got this!
Nice!
I live on the island
How tall are you? What size Pole? What size inseam and ape index?
I'm 6'1", size large Machine and not sure of my ape index.
@@TheLoamRanger Thanks ! Do you know your inseam? Long / short legs? I just ordered a Taival in XL but I'm 6'5 but short legs 32" inseam
fantastic video! may i ask what watch are you using?
Thanks Juan! It's a Garmin 735XT. I connect a speed sensor and chest heart rate monitor to it when I ride. Works quite well!

@@JuanPaoloBernardo Glad you're pumped about the videos! I can't wait to get out to EWS100 again next year.
Can you do a video about the Enduro tyres?
I just might!
Good video🖒
Thanks!
Haha 😂 I didn’t know there was such a thing as bear spray
Just remember to spray it at the bear and not on yourself (it's basically pepper spray) :D
The Loam Ranger next time I see a bear in Australia I’ll let you know 👍
DIRTLINE WILD dingo spray?
Chris Fontenot lol if ones after me I won’t be stopping to spray it
Which hubs? So silent
Those are the Onyx Vesper hubs. Dead silent!
@@TheLoamRanger yeah they look amazing. I was very tempted but I also love how easy the DT Swiss 350s are to service

Lucky man.
Let's go do Menzies Mountain :)
awesome trail and great speed... were you picturing a bear chasing you to go that fast?!!
Haha that never hurts!
have there actually been bears? or just things that looked like bears?
