    Like always Gail blames everything and everyone her precious Nicky does on someone else. If she wdve had any sense she wdve taken the brat with her after all the BS attitude and behavior he had been displaying, instead of rewarding him and allowing him to stay home. That's something you do to a mature 15 yr old not one behaving like a 10yr old.

    • @christinefougere

      She always rewarded bad behaviour. Look when she bought him that game console he wanted when he was living with Don to try and entice him back to the house. She did the same with David who was three times worse than Nick could ever be. Spoiled useless little brats.

      That one stumped me as well. I has a 30-odd year career as a magazine sub editor. The mags did away with us subbies a few years ago because some management twit didn't know what we do. They just knew we got paid very well. I think TV land must have done the same with their equivalent - judging by all the continuity cock-ups in our favourite shows. I am too old to work now but I cringe every time I read a story on the Daily Mail or somewhere that is littered with typos and geographical errors. Dear management, ensuring your publication didn't become a laughing stock was due to us (now redundant) sub-editors.And yep, some of us are still available for work.

      @carasmith549 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@jenlfpotter3870 But he wasn't born in 1982. In August 1982 episodes Maggie only just discovers she is pregnant. In May 1983 episodes, Mike gets the news that his son has been born. The writers just chose to forget about all that, and make Mark a year older when he returned as "grown-up" in 1999. I've watched Corrie since 1970, and I remember Mike Baldwin meeting Maggie via Eddie Yeat's girlfriend, Marion. In fact, Eddie used to sneak into Mike's posh flat, pretending it was his, to do his courting - and that was definitely early in 1982, before Mike and Maggie met. The writers just mess with the timelines.

      How can you lump Rita in with Audrey? Rita had a heart of gold who loved her husbands and cared about her friends and neighbours. And she had a work ethic. Audrey, on the other hand, was totally self-absorbed and cared about no one except herself. She only married Alf because he was desperate for a wife and having never done a proper day's work in her life Audrey was getting a little too old for her chosen career, ie, using men as meal tickets.

    I always see so many comments stating the obvious on videos like this... about how different things were back then... but, that's not "entirely" true... teens going missing, men getting women pregnant then abandoning them, shutting people out of their family, etc... all stuff that's happened in recent years too.
    Not to mention those who say some things are different now to what they were then... I should hope so...
    Times aren't the same now in many ways... the ways people deal with things aren't always the same either...
    We already have Coronation Street that represents life in the 1990s, and the other 4 decades that preceeded it...
    Coronation Street made "currently" the 2020s should, and does, represent life in the current times... hence why, in recent years, there have been stories centred around more contemporary issues, such as social media, drones and other internet-related business... it's also why you see characters walking around with smartphones now too.
    The world moves on!
    Emmerdale always gets picked on for the same reasons too.

    Get rid of Gary and Judy. They are useless characters IMO, and that Gary is nothing but a perve. If I saw that looming over my bar, I'd run screaming to the back.

      I disagree. I really like Gary and Judy. To me, they were the young Jack and Vera. And Gary is so not a creep. The Corrie men I wouldn't have wanted to meet down a dark alley are the revolting Fred Elliot or Reg Holdsworth, the fist-swinging drunk Jim Macdonald or his crooked, lying, manipulative son Steve.
