Not to mention those who say some things are different now to what they were then... I should hope so... Times aren't the same now in many ways... the ways people deal with things aren't always the same either... We already have Coronation Street that represents life in the 1990s, and the other 4 decades that preceeded it... Coronation Street made "currently" the 2020s should, and does, represent life in the current times... hence why, in recent years, there have been stories centred around more contemporary issues, such as social media, drones and other internet-related business... it's also why you see characters walking around with smartphones now too. The world moves on! Emmerdale always gets picked on for the same reasons too.
