Thank you for watching! This is a bit of a different video that's just focused on the art. I'd love to hear if this is something you find interesting. - Наука
He’s green, yesssss
hey
BeanBonk
red and blue: exist
benbonk: *NO.*
Shut the green up
But y.....
The damage frame is probably the funniest thing I've seen
Can’t wait for that squash and stretch tutorial he mentioned!!
same
Yeah, that looks amazing.
Did that end up coming out? I'd love to watch that!
@@highenrgygaming380 he did, it was his next video lol
This is an amazing tutorial. Thank you so much for showing the whole process from start to finish. The result is great. 👽
e
moving some parts up and down later than others is probably my favorite technique right now, it just adds so much life into a character
It’s so nice when instead of rewatching old Vimlark videos I can watch a new one
As someone who has started with pixel art, this is pretty useful and inspirational. Thanks!
thank you, i was struggling so much, i haven't seen the video yet, but i would assume that it is great based on your other work :)
Super helpful, thanks! Really good to see your personal process and to see the iteration progress. Usually I do the same, throw stuff at the wall until something sticks :)
watched this video and it literally made my pixel art better immediately, thanks so much Vim!
This could actually help me in the future! Thank You!
I discovered your channel with your video on the last GMTK Jam, and so you give me the necessary motivation to try to master the Construct 2 and Aseprite installed on my PC for a while👍.
Your stuff is great !
try it with a zero color palette next!
Your pixel art is great. I was always artist and creative and could draw with pencil and paper but transferring this skill to pixel was hard. I am so pleased to say that thanks to youtubers like you I am now somewhat 'ok' at making all my own art for games.
I am not a pixel art creator but the way you create shadows on the alien gave me inspiration for my vector art.
I love your pixel art!
This video is super helpful, it's really simple and straightforward. Just what I needed.
This is a really good video, I truly appreciate it, this will definitely help me create some games.
I needed this VIDEO !!!!! Amazing tutorial, I like it
the antennas are so cute! Good job man.
That's really cool dude! I want more video like this one. Thanks :)
This is awesome! Thank you for the tutorial. I totally get the muscle memory thing. I've been using photoshop since the late 90's and while I know there are other specialized apps for this kind of thing, I would more than likely just keep creating things there. Thanks again!
What a beautiful tutorial! 🧡
This is so helpful, thank you so much
This was very cool. I’m getting ready to develop my own characters for a 2d & this helped me find a path.
Best moment of my days is when I recive Vimlark's notifications
I know right
Honestly
Thanks for this video! Never thought in my life i would take an interest in making games but now here I am learning everything I can and making some progress each day! I downloaded the alien and would love to use it as an easter egg! Thanks man!
how did it go?
You probably won’t see this, but I really genuinely like your videos! You are entertaining and have the quality of someone with 20 times your subscriber amount. Keep it up my man. Best of luck in the near future!
Thank you so much!!
Thanks a lot for sharing the process!
the squaching effect gives it an extra omf and i like that
You inspire me to get more into a pixel art and since i loved Zelda : A link to the Past this perfect for me. Thanks!!
gorgeous art, great.
I am very interested in how you handle the squash and stretch. Great work!
Great tutorial! I'll have to try this simple method with my next character.
when the character was bobbing i was too lol 7:45
Awesome, thank you. This video helped me a lot in getting into pixel art game dev.
Great always as ever! Love it
That's really cool. Thanks for the info!
I saw the GMTK game jam 2020 best. I tried watching you because you were number 1 and you are now one of my favourite youtubers.
I was just making an alien in pixel art , now im going to tweak it a bit with the tips from this video. Thanks!
so simple yet it looks great for indie games
how to add the image being used in unity? I saved a few PNGs of some proto art, but i can't move them out to add to the scene.
Dude, you should turn this into a recurring series. Even if it's not a tutorial. Just let us watch you make sprites. It's a lot of fun. -- There's another RUclipsr that does something similar, but with blender and lowpoly art (Imphenzia), and it's a ton of fun to watch. You just gave me vibes like I was watching his channel, except for 2D. Very freaking cool. ❤️
Great video Vimlark!
I can't wait to make video games again I also can't wait to do a 2d side scroller
You have inspired me so much whith your videos❤️❤️❤️ o and you dropped this 👑
Hi..
Great stuff. I have a question. How did you disable in photoshop antaliasing after you used the transform tool ?
This is really Great! Just found your channel!!
Yes! The perfect Video!!!
This was actually a very good tutorial dude an I do consider myself a professional tutorial watcher.
Thank you very much for this tutorial. I understanded 2d pixel art animation a little bit better, and i can already see that they are way cooler now
gracias, tenia problemas para animar y creo que ahora entendi un poco mejor
I just started pixel art and this was very helpful.
for anyone wondering about the squash and stretch: change the horizontal and/or vertical scale of the sprite at jump key press, reset the scale(s), check for vertical collision and change them again when player touches ground.
I actually set is all up as a function so you can call it more than just on the jump. Also ways to make it hold for falls.
@@Vimlark ooh, alright, i just said it the way i do it in GMS:2 and translated it to pseudocode so ppl can adapt it to any workspace. will think about making a function like this tho, thank u for answering!
so cute i love it
wow, thanks for this awesome vid
got some inspiration of it
Hahaha! That death animation is fantastic!
Dude that was coooollll
i have now found my inspiration. thanks man
Lady lark is our looooord
Good video that help me a lot !

amazing video! thanks❤
It's a great video thanks for that :)
Not sure if i missed it or you haven't mentioned it, but how long did this whole process took you about?
But what game engines do you use for your action-based games (or basically, for platformers)?
Congratulations on getting in the top 20 of the gmtk game jam.
not moving all parts in same frame was a great tip helped me very much thank you
Great stuff, thanks!
this is really helpfulllll!!!
First Time to learn about pixel animation! This is great! I love your cute green alien, I am now making Green Pears!
Thank you for this
Man i was waiting on a new video:)
What a great video.
This is good. I'll totally use it when I eventually make a 2d game.
How do make the squash and do you use the sine behaviour or is it just animated
I'm working on the video but it's just changing the sprite size actually
definitely waiting on the squash and stretch tutorial, it sounds easy but it's art related, so of course i suck at it lmao
When I export this from PS, its all blurry. Obviously, i'm doing something wrong. lol. Any suggestions? I tried different export settings. but its all the same. My character is on a canvas 126x 126
Hi vimlark. When i animate my character and then add it to my game.Art's color gets messed up,i really wanna add art.Plz help
Amazing
So interesting!!
Great video, thanks for sharing
Hey Do U Still Use Construct 2 To Build Games...Coz I Do Coz I Don't Have A Good PC...If Yes Then I Wanna Know That Can We Only Make Pixellated Games From Construct 2
Earned a sub dude, too cool
Doesn't the run left animation flip the shadow now? Other than that, awesome video
As pixel artist i really liked this video so useful
You mentioned your WACOM BOARD... Can you recommend a Mid to high level one? I used to make games with Construct wayyyyyyy back in the day and I see I was doing it the hard way.
I'm sure C3 is a lot better then what was out when I was making games with it... Still even back then it was an amazing program.
Thank you for sharing your talents.
what game software do you use
I love your tutorials and willingness to inspire others to contribute to the world. How do I get started? What are the basic requirements? ( in terms of laptop memory specs etc. I’m a total newbie).
I’m a lost soul and need to use my free time constructively. I’m on a very low budget. Thank you for all you do.
Oh my goodness I love it! Lol
Uwu. Your daughter's belly button idea is actually a genius.
anyone know what game engine he's using?
cool, thanks master🙏
i literally just turned 31 today and am just getting into pixel art i feel like im starting so late but im having a great time learning it!
I LOVE IT!!!! TEACH ME HOW!!!!

How long do you usually spend on animating a single character?
