These are the perfect car for a retro mod project. Just swap out a Honda engine and transmission with some updated electronics and you're good.

My mom had one of these and it was a lot of fun to run around in.

    Love THAT shape.
I would take that with fred flinstone powering it.
I would not even drive it, i would just look at it while i drink coffee and feed the quails

Back in the day a buddy of mine had one of these and kept a tow strap coiled in the passenger seat. No cell phones back then, so I'd sometimes just spot him dead in the street with my C10 and give him a quick tow. Good times 😁 we always thought this would be an awesome ride with the Turbo 4 banger taken from a Dodge Daytona of the same era but no money to follow that dream.

The pace car fiero was supposed to be pretty fast, even faster than the V6, unfortunately they only gave the slow 4 cylinder to the public, haha! That’s a funny story

It's got a 4 cylinder iron duke engine. At least 200,000 more miles to go

Urban legend had said that Fiero meant Fire in French. These things were known for catching on fire.

Usually the early models had issue, most problems were fixed by 1985

@@426Exotics I actually liked the look of the 1986 Fiero GT.

Yes! Loud, slow, but super reliable

Be glad you have the automatic, the sticks were crap, shifter is cable not linkage and half the time you are at a light and not sure what gear you are in. Great cars otherwise, I would seriously look at doing a V8 swap.

Keep it all original besides the stereo. I was hoping to daily drive it for awhile but not sure how reliable it would be.

If you change all the wearables, you should have no reliability issues. Back in the day we would run these types of cars all day, everywhere, with NO CELL PHONES. Just pay phones if you found then, and we still dancing around today. People tooday are poosies without an unbilical cord to a safety blanket..
Drive it till the wheels fall off

@@426ExoticsI daily drive (in summer) a 84 Fiero, SE automatic, bought at 160,000 miles and still going strong. Had quite a few things to fix before driving but since then, nothing. Most of the problems were due to age and lack of maintenance. Main things are check spark plugs and wires, vacuum lines, valve cover for oil leaks and brakes. The rear parking brake system was the bane of my existence for a month until I resorted to bypass it in favor of functional rear brakes. It was not something I wanted to do but had to as a rubber gasket (that contacts brake fluid) is no longer made. Eventually I will figure out something with that.

Sorry, no. If you put it over to reverse and did not let out the clutch while you're driving, the odometer would stop.
