Thederick is still alive, he was able to lose weight, get his lymphedema surgery, and his weight loss surgery. He's still around 400 lbs, but healthier and posts on his Instagram account regularly.

Obviously it’s his job but there are many people that don’t do their jobs right. It’s obvious he’s very passionate and serious about what he does. Y’all are all acting like “but it’s their job” is enough to prove that he does this only because he has to. Yeah, he has to. But he’s also very good at what he does.
His mom is the BEST SUPPORT PERSON ever, she's so proud of him!
If she was so supportive, why did she let her son get to this level of obesity. After about 400 pounds, why didn't she tell him his weight is getting to a dangerous level, and encourage him to lose weight back then?

@@dcg590 my mum was the hardest on me but i am still big af, it got to a point i was being rebellious and spiteful to annoy her so I’ll eat more, other times I’ll starve so much to make her happy. It was a roller coaster. This is how you create bad relationships with food.

The mental/psychological part is everything. Don't get down on yourself. Don't get discouraged. 125 lbs without surgery is proof you can do this. And if you don't, your heart is in trouble. Rooting for ya.
Well, look, he lost 77 lbs on his own so he can continue that loss!! I was thinking of getting this surgery but I lost so much on my own that I just continued. Just reached my goal weight!! He can DO THIS and be a true, brave, strong hero!!👍🏼🙏🏼💜
Agree. Statistics prove if you lose the weight on your own & not surgery, the weight will stay off in the long term. It’s not the surgery it’s the relationship you have with food. A quick fix is not the answer. “We” get so used to the easy way out, that’s all we expect.Instead of the pride of accomplishing our goals on our own. U should be so proud of yourself!
If that's all that he needed to do, the doctor would not say that he can move forward with the surgery. Sometimes weight can get beyond the point of a person being able to lose it on their own. Sometimes the heart cannot take exercise. It's nice that it for some.

I used to be really fat. Maybe not as fat as Thederick, but still I was on the verge of developing serious health conditions. I remember not being able to tie my shoelaces and my sleep suffered as well. My life changed when I finally set my mind to the thinking that anything is possible if you decide so. I took a meal plan to start with. I created it from Nextlevel diet, which was super helpful to me. I didn't have to worry about calories, macros, nutrients and all that stuff. I just focused on walking long distances and exercising after I got on a level where I could do some simple workouts. I hope my story will inspire you to do the same. To change your body you must first change your mind!!

He seems like a great person. I really wanted him to get good news. Ugh. Don’t give up, you can do it! Food addiction is no joke. I am glad I have found way to get over my food addiction by looking for other ways of dealing with my emotions. I went down this path when I was a kid and I got up to 250lbs. Weight loss is possible, but if you have a bad food addiction, it’s not as easy as some people say. I am a healthy weight now, and I’m almost done with my 100LBS weight loss journey. I share my journey over here on my channel. If you don’t think it’s possible, it is. Anyone can lose weight and improve their lives. Please don’t wait until it’s too late.
Food, cocaine, alcohol, and pron addictions are difficult to kick, but food was the most difficult for me.

I think removing that large lymphedema mass on his leg will benefit him tremendously. (I can only imagine how uncomfortable it must be) He will have more mobility without it bothering him. This will definitely help he shed the weight faster.

He has to lose weight first and then wear compression pads plus this special vibrating thing to circulate the fluid from his lymphedema before he can have surgery.
He has an uphill battle to fight but he’s already done so much towards his goal he can do anything!!

It's good that he was able to lose so much weight though, he has proved to himself that he can do it even without surgery. Also, he is going to be in trouble if he doesn't lose weight, because of his weak heart, so he has even more reason to stick with it now.
Look. It took him YEARS & years to get this big. And even if he GETS the surgery its years of recovery & special diets afterwards. The surgery ISN'T the fix. He better get used to this setback like an ADULT.

I feel so sorry for Thederick. He's tried so hard to lose enough weight to have surgery. He spent a lifetime overeating to put the weight on. He will have to spend a few more months working to get it off and pray it will be enough.

I wish my mom was like that. She can be but its usually over stupid little things like getting a job or a raise. I was running 6 miles 3 X up until last summer & an exemplary with my diet weighing about 200 lbs for a powerful 6' male frame. I don't smoke & drink very rarely.
For some reason I have recently found I have uncontrollable blood pressure & lately have been suffering blindness in one eye if I exercise too hard. I have been checked out for a TIA but that is clear.
So..... Sometimes even going above doing the right thing on really taking care of your body, you still get a kick in your slim, fit nuts!

Oh gosh, that is a devastating diagnosis. Congestive heart failure, CHF, is such a hard thing to manage. It’s irreversible and you only get worse, your heart can’t get better. If he’s at an early stage he can remain asymptomatic if he gets his weight down and takes medicine. It basically means his heart is not pumping the amount of blood it should to the rest of his body, this is the ejection fraction. I’m surprised he’s diagnosed as young as he is because CHF is often seen in older patients, and comes with all kinds of dietary restrictions which include low salt and diabetes control.
I wish him the best and I hope he’s not devastated but he’s activated by the news. Poor guy :(
Hes been so heavy for so long. His heart has had to work very very hard to pump thru his entire body. But you're right he can remain asymptomatic for years and years. He really needs to loose more lbs. He did 125# up to this point, so he obviously has the drive and determination! I believe he can do!
I have a friend that had heart failure and she was able to reverse it. So really anything is possible.

@@florafauna434 She went vegetarian for a while and studied nutrition . She was able to track the foods that her body responded to better vs other foods like the ones that cause inflammation etc. Combined with supplements for heart health and blood flow.
My husband, was #399,when he was diagnosed with CHF. He was 54,He has lost #180,managed his diabetes and his heart is stronger than ever.
He had 1 stint when he was initially diagnosed.

At my heaviest, I used to weigh 631lbs.. It wasn't weight loss surgery or some expensive workout/diet plan that turned things around for me, it was one simple thing, learning to say No (To Myself). The magic secret is 1 oz. discipline. I had to learn to say NO! to my urges and that was literally it. I just said No to myself when I wanted to eat unhealthy foods and the pounds started flying off. I have lost close to 500lbs in the last year and a half ( I now weigh 136 lbs) and it was by just saying No to my urges, not buying unhealthy food and not making excuses. I didn't have to do anything other than keep my fat mouth shut for 1 & 1/2 years and I now look and feel amazing! (Sure, I have a parachute size flap of skin that I can twirl around myself like some sort of disturbing hula hoop, but I feel 100x more confident & happy now, than I did before.) I used to be very pro body positivity, and I still am, but the truth was I was miserable on the inside when I was obese ( I couldn't even wipe my ass without difficulty). Now, I am able to move around more freely and I can even drive my car to the nightclub where I dance all night and bang anybody that wants to take a ride on this magic skin flap. (You?)

Some Drs will tell their morbidly obese patients that they have an eating disorder. I know a 400 lb + lady who orders pizzas delivered and eats a lot of junk food. She complains that she cannot lose weight and makes excuses. I like that Dr Now is blunt with some of them.

My oldest brother has heart issues and he didn't even know until he went to the doctor. My mom was present with him. When He was informed of this by the doctor, he was so devastated that he cried his eyeballs out. Moms was there to console him of course..
He's doing much better now though.
