Hey man, thanks for the review! I have one question: what are the rivets on the bottom of the bag for? Is the bottom made from two separate pieces riveted together?

Thanks for the question. Yes the gusset is composed of two pieces, joined together at the bottom of the bag by means of a 1 inch overlap with two rows of stitching and three rivets. It makes a joint exactly like that of a US Mailbag gusset joint which IMO is very handsome. I suspect that due to the extra materials and especially the extra time needed to replicate that joint, or seam, it was done not as a cost savings operation, but rather to give the bag a more rugged appeal and interesting look.

Can you do a review of a Bleu de Chauffe bag? Preferably their Postman bag for 13" laptops?

Hi Jim, thanks for the video. I just got one from bexar goods. One question, can I moisturise the bag with conditioner before start using it?

You can, although you don't really need to. My favorite product is Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP Leather Conditioner.

Thank you very much indeed. It’s been a while since you reviewed a bag. Hope you will very soon.

Hello... Does this Trapper Satchel hold letter size papers and files and folders well without bending them? Does the rear pocket also hold letter size sheets and files? Thanks...

Thomas Hanan thanks for the question, yes letter size 8.5” X 11” papers and the folders/files made to hold them will fit no problem and no bending.
