    Reminds me of some of the stuff from DAF's "fur immer". Yeah, I want one of these.

    I can't get that out of my SQ1! That's astonishing! Well worth the £50 I paid for it. I've got to slow it down a bit to see how you do that. The "manual" is garbage.

    You must be magical. My sq1 and fm will NOT do this. I was beginning to think it was a myth that it’s even possible. I’d like to be able to do this. Are mine just broken?

      amongst all the comments from years ago you're the only one so recent as I'm just now finding this video lol. Do you own both? I'm new to synths and about to purchase these tomorrow hopefully.

    Seems like an awesome little tool for modular or eurorack not much point on a volca tbh

    There is a pretty ok polyphonic sequencer integrated in the Volca FM, not sure why you want to use that crappy sq1

    sounds like the sound from an old 1970's pong game...still not heard ANYTHING of musical worth

    • @BlockyNarwhal
      @BlockyNarwhal 6 лет назад +10

      Musical worth? What are you talking about? I don't know if you've watched any other analog or modular videos, but most of them are jams like this. The goal doesn't have to be to make something "worth" your money or whatever dumb standard you have, it's a fun jam to explore the hardware and find new interesting sounds. Lighten up

      Jej while I do sort of agree with you, I also see Scot's gripe here. Too often you see people with tons of hardware gear just making silly little loops with their gear. They never make full fledged tracks or anything. And you can't deny that that's a true statement. Too many people with hardware just noodle around and never flesh out ideas. It's even a running joke on sites like gearslutz and Reddit, that gear junkies like to make short loops and never anything more.

      Agreed DR. These aren't even jams, they're just random bleeps and bloops anyone could get out of them without looking at the manual. Saying lighten up is just a hipster way of saying "they've got zero musical talent" and making excuses for spending money on something that's gonna gather dust on a shelf after five minutes. Which is the height of consumerism and capitalism, which I guess you're no fan of "Jeh". Shit, I can "explore the hardware" (yeah, like it needs a map - all of two minutes) and find interesting new sounds from my vacuum cleaner at half the price, AND do something useful with it afterwards. Scot and DR both make very good points. Whereas "lighten up" and slagging off the person instead of addressing the hardware just says you have none to make, every time.

      2112jonr sometimes experiments with boxes like these are the same as practicing a guitar. While it might not sound musical to you, in order to make something musical it takes learning your way around the thing your trying to play. Every time you make “bleeps and bloops” you learn the fastest way to make those sounds. Then you take what you learned from that and apply to your next session. Just like plucking away at random guitar strings if you do it for many years eventually you will build up enough knowledge to create something the masses might deem “musical”. Until then it’s kind of a drag to hear people clown on a guys process. While we are here on YT criticizing this dude probably has hours now of bleeps and bloops under his hands that he has turned into full production. So all I can say is, let the boy play.
