    Sir, what is difference between friction and drag force?

    • @aggarwalprateek6
      @aggarwalprateek6 4 года назад +3

      Drag force is divided into 2 forces 1.) Skin friction Drag(friction force) and 2.) Pressure Drag

    • @15-kundankrishnan6
      @15-kundankrishnan6 3 года назад +9

      Sir, friction is the opposing force of any motion....Whereas drag force is also a kind of frictional force offered by fluids only(like air & water)

    • @Soubhagya_CHE
      @Soubhagya_CHE 2 года назад

      Friction is an opposition offered to the relative motion of an object wrt an other object ...... friction always opposes the motion no matter what....
      However, in case of drag, drag is a force which acts along the fluid motion, which means if an immersed object moves in opposite direction to the flowing fluid, the drag will oppose the motion of the object, but if that object moves along the motion of the fluid, the drag will support the object's motion .
      (( Correct me if I'm wrong ))

    At *22:52*
    In the Taylor series expansion you have written d(Mbc) = d(Mad)+del(d(Mad))/del(x)×dx.
    But the expansion equation which you have written is in Integration form, So I guess you should write
    Mbc = Mad+del(Mad)/del(x)×dx

    the resisting shear force is negative. the change in momentum producing the drag force and resisting shear force is resisting the plate to move. As the direction of resisting shear force is opposite to rate of change in momentum that is why there is using the negative sign.
