    Sir, in Case 2, in the express for mass why you took u? It should be u( infinity) in place of u?

    Sir when you have taken the case of absence of boundary layer then how the mass flow rate be ( density×b×dy×u) since in the absence of boundary layer there is no u (local velocity)

      logically it would be the freestream velocity instead of local velocity component. otherwise, some assumption must be taken during the deviation of the equation or this proof might consist of an algebraic error. however, the final equation is correct which does correspond to the fact that a local velocity component is used in the actual derivation.

      Read momentum thickness definition
      It is change in momentum of mass flow rate(with boundary layer) when boundary layer is present and absent.
